For those of us who lived in bedsits in the mid-70s this doesn't half bring back some memories. So convincingly done and brilliantly acted and I'm sure it won't be too long before Talking Pictures TV broadcasts the entire series once again.
Interesting early appearance from Kathryn Apanowicz here, aka Mrs Richard Whiteley (sort of). She had a very memorable, if brief, part in the 1979 TV drama 'The Black Stuff' as well, forerunner of 'Boys From The Black Stuff'.
I always give credit to Talking Pictures, a great free to air channel of quality content and yes, the source of these recordings. Now that they have finished their broadcast run on that channel I am more than happy to upload them here for people to see and to promote their channel where I can.
@@majordolbyscat Great stuff, they showed this series Together and then released it on dvd, i was hoping they would do the same with Rooms but sadly they did not.
@@CrystalShip8899 Yes Talking pictures is a excellent channel discovered it during lockdown and have really enjoyed things like Budgie The gentle touch van der valk the champions this look at life the footage detectives and some of the films they show plus they have the website on the odd occasion there is nothing on the channel that appeals to you
The blond girl is British TV quiz presenter Richard Whiteley's widow. RIP Richard. I remember she was very dignified through it all, unlike Carol Vorderman who thrust herself into the limelight constantly wanting to be on TV to talk of her grief, so inappropriate!
I agree with you. Carol Vorderman was a self-seeking exhibitionist - borne out by her ridiculous and ostentatious silicone implants, which she thrust into the face of the media at every opportunity. What an embarrassment!
13:18 - 15:41 Watch how Kim's (The blond sister) hair slide, gradually does just that, while eating her meal whilst talking to her older sister. Two things: Suprise the director didn't cut & edit, & no one in the comments mentioned it either.
She's giving an excellent performance and it goes with her character. Drama and many other things were more natural and less perfect and glamorous than is the norm now!
Julie Shipley is lovely and one of my favourite people. That Kathryn Apanowicz was in Eastenders as Den Watts' girlfriend for a while. She ran a catering business that supplied the Queen Vic. She was too good for Den, big time! Another very good actress, not Den, Kathryn Apanowicz!
I expect Julie Shipley recommended Kathryn Apanowicz to play her sister as they knew each other, in their teens they both regularly appeared on Yorkshire TV's afternoon song & dance show for kids 'Junior Show Time'. Apanowicz would go on to play more or less the same character in 'Angels'.
I have vaguely remembered her face, until you mentioned Angels I was none the wiser as to where I had seen it. All be a vague recollection of that TV show. Doing a quick search I see Kathryn was, once upon a time married to Countdown’s presenter Richard Whitely. Thanks for shedding light on her career.
@@majordolbyscat Yes she played bolshie nurse Rose Butchins from series 5 to series 8 ( there were 9 series ). The first 3 series of Angels are very good, series 1 & 2 are on dvd, it started to decline from series 4.

Appreciate the trivia on this episode
She appeared in junior showtime before this and also appeared in bugsy malone in 1976 and Angels after.
I remember her from school.
love all these Rooms episodes, thank you so much - I’m about to enjoy this one now 🤩🙏❤️
Hope you enjoyed!
Phoning a GP for a house call. Pure Nostalgia.
Kathryn Apanowicz is superb in this, a natural. I remember her very well when she was Nurse Butcher in Angels in the 1970s.
Always struck by the artistry of the opening title sequence.
Julie Shipley really projects genuine love for her dizzy sister and is absolutely adorable throughout the episode.
The two natural bounce off of each other.
Think this is my favorite episode
Fantastic stuff, saw these on Talking Pictures, thank you so much for uploading them here.

People manage their grief in different ways, it's not for us to judge.
Ulrika is that you

End theme very similar to the 'Film' series theme hosted by Barry Norman.
I hadn’t made that connection until you mentioned it
I like her character Lesley too.

Been a while. I forgot who was who haha..
No worries, hope you get back into the rhythm;)
