The Bob Monkhouse Show: Kenny Everett (1983)

"Unpredictable, mischief" this interview from The Bob Monkhouse show was originally broadcast on the 28th November, 1983. Fun fact that it is wildly reported Kenny was fired from the BBC after he made a joke about Margaret Thatcher during his BBC radio 2 show. The said joke was apparently handed to him on a piece of paper by his producer. After the press had ripped into Kenny earlier that year ...

To say he was supposed to be 20 years older than her they look the same age. I know its fiction but they could've cast someone younger. Saying that, people aged very early back then, not like now with botox and lip fillers and fake everything.
Best possible ending, still would like that hour back.
4 days? Get with the modern world. I many Millions Like Me want to watch the third episode right now. I will have forgotten about this showing four days ffs.
I owe you NOTHING buddy.
Thanks for the upload I love English 70's telly.
This was just when they were starting to do away with the nuclear family. Get the Mum and Dad working and destroy the family unit etc you know how it goes...
I can name many of the people in this video, because I am related to them!
The commentator forgot to same it's in Kent not London. 2024 Margate is full of immigrants, its not a safe place at night .
Brilliant, thank you MDC, you have done it again, great show, somehow I missed the first episode, thanks again for looking after us , please keep 'em coming and, as always.... stay lucky
She is lovely. I'm a huge fan of Clive James as well.
Fond memories
Thanks by the way, for a very long and good stream.
Cheers Paul, bit shorter now as I was forced by UA-cam to cut several clips in order to make it public again. Appreciate your support as always
Good bit of northern this major D and cat
Cheers, it does make for a nice time capsule
Is episode 2 still scheduled for premiere tonight? It was listed when I looked last night but now seems to have disappeared from the list of recently-published and soon-to-be-published videos.
I posted a link to it on my community page as I uploaded the video a month ago so you have to go back a month in my video upload timeline to see it.
Is anyone going to clean the nostalgia-addled bigots out of these comments???
I wonder how many times he was punched
Thanks for this MDC
I’m so glad l was born in 1962 and grew up in the 60s and 70s. What we had then we have certainly lost now, hold them times close to your heart always. The state cannot take away your memories. Just remember the older folk in this film would stand with our feelings of today and long for the good old time just the same.
Colin Welland a local lad from Newton Le Willows, a strong Saints fan, the black chevron on the new kit here is based on Saints' red chevron, good stuff keep posting👍
Bob Newhart - the comedy I grew up with! Excellent stuff.
Being a middle-age gentleman, (with too much deaths left behind and no relatives ones at all), I sympathetically do understand what loneliness and the bitter solitude’s routine are. To me, a very touching and delicate episode. Thank You indeed for the posting. G.
I was one of the kids then and I loved Margate and we came down from Glasgow the best and safe holiday a family could have went on 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
his humor has really held up well over the decades - how can you not laugh at something this clever?
50 years old and as fresh today as it was in ‘73
Nice one Dolby, interesting vinyl player and a pat to cat
Unlike me, it takes up minimal space 😝and does the job very well despite its rather silly name, it is I am happy to report up to the standards of products made by Audio-Technica
@@majordolbyscat I like it's design mate looks cool, another pat for you know who
Don’t call us we’ll call you Walt😂😂😂
This man was a genius. The first one I ever heard was the unexploded bomb, brilliant
"What's that? You've found a shell on the beach?
@@majordolbyscat I thought that that was your watch ticking
Born 1956 many many happy times spent in Margate so innocent so safe so British 🇬🇧wish I could rewind the clock ! 🥲
Deep philosophy in this one , you solved the Riddle of Lost Highway //..cheers the Major !
@@alanhargreaves-thevoiceofr2361 glad my theory holds up :)
Still great
I love your channel thanx from Australia mate
@@peterschief9778 happy you think so and cheers for the comment
A jolly little English thriller of the day, long ago. I think Leslie Charteris co-authored the screenplay. He created "The Saint." Roger Moore was the most famous Saint, but there have been others.
Enjoyed this. I dont know if I should wait for them all, and binge them, or watch one a week. The blonde (forgot his name) is in this PFT. ua-cam.com/video/xjvqpe_wvZY/v-deo.htmlsi=-O9GkDnozE35LuxN
Thanks me lady, I have bookmarked that Play For Today. I totally understand if you want to wait, the format this channel has now adopted (broadcasting episodes on the day time originally broadcast) is not for everyone. Glad you enjoy it!
@@majordolbyscat I like that old school feel though, same time, same day every week so everyone's watching at the same time like in the old days when you only had 4channels. But, my memory has had it so remembering something from 5wks ago is a struggle. Lol. Also inpatient so no way I'll be able to wait!
Give me a room , I dont care if has no walls and ceilings...😜🍆🤭👅
Selena Scott is stunning And of course I can now see the resemblance to Diana But as a child when she was on tv I didn't understand what all the fuss was about
Many thanks for this rarity.
“Janice is the one with six cans of light ale in her hand bag “ 😂love it.
The old school storytelling 😅
Britain before Thatcher.
I'm in love with Em and Cyril.
Thanks major looks like this will be some good northern time travel, pet for cat
These people seem like they are from another planet! and another era. Had to turn the subtitles on. I think they're overestimating the qualifications needed to be "captain" of this little club - Terry would have been just fine, he appears to be running the place already anyway. Felt sorry for him.
Hey up love it's Yorkshire probably set not far from Leeds
It’s a very true to life representation for the early seventies except the locker room language was tamed down somewhat for TV. It certainly wasn’t from another planet. Colin Welland had been a rugby league player himself so he knew how to portray the behind the scenes activities of the club and its players.
I wonder if Dennis is any relation to Leonard Rossiter?
