@@oumarroudiaby2637 Yeah, but the only thing keeping 76ers relevant is because Embiid is good in the regular season. Sacrificing embiids accolades is putting him in a position to get injured, eliminating him from mvp considerations and setting him up for failure in the playoffs

@@r.lr.l Sixers are truly the team with the most pressure going into this season, if Joel and his niggas cant make it to the ECF, man...at that point, idk what they'll do
Bro, Nuggets had like 7-8 games in 10 days last season, its not like sixers are the only team that will have period like that. Its brutal yeah but that shouldnt be an excuse because many teams have those stretches of too many games in so few days. And even if it is much more competitive eastern conference this year its still the weaker conference so that couldnt be excuse either with that team.
It’s not an excuse lol. It’s the reality of how injured he gets. Taking a cautious approach is the wise approach. You just don’t know what you’re talking about. Embiid would often play through injury in pursuit of accolades and to win because the team was so poorly constructed that they’d lose most games he didn’t play in. Or they would lose games to inferior teams without him on the court. The goal is a title. Him being healthy for the playoffs is the goal. Simple.
“Oh no, 7-8 games in 11 days!” Not like every team has access to cold baths, masseuses, on demand painkillers, etc to mitigate soreness game to game for a non contact sport. Or… they could actually utilize the other 8 guys on the team and not run people for 35+mpg
Embiid also forgot to say that on those B2B, he won't be playing against specifically above 500 teams because he can't statpad against good teams on a bad leg. So expect Embiid playing against the lottery teams because those are the teams where he can statpad against
doing that will fix 1 or 2 back to back issues. but yes extend the season, i agree wth that. have the season start 2 weeks sooner and end a week later if need be
Or just, you know, these players should actually work on keeping themselves healthy and actually putting money into taking care of their bodies. If players of the past, who drank, smoke, ate shit food and did drugs, could play back to backs and preseason.......these players can do it too with all of the advantages they have.
@crater044 With Embiid, especially at this point, there's really only so much he can do in the off-season to "stay healthy." Some players, especially bigs, will just be naturally injury prone. It's just lots of weight putting lots of stress on his legs and back, and with all the past injuries it's kinda past a true point of repair.
If you healthy…YOU PLAY! If you hurt….YOU PLAY (Less)! If you injured…YOU DONT PLAY! Personally, I’m not paying $200-$900 dollars for tickets (not including beverages) to see stars sit out and they aren’t injured.
as a Sixers fan I like this move I'd rather him prioritize his health than anything else, maxey will continue to grow as a leader of this team during the games that Embiid or pg arent playing; I think that was beneficial towards his play in the post season last year knowing that the team has confidence in him to step up or lead when needed no matter if Embiid is on the court or not. I seen people slandering Embiid for this but they're the same ones that say embiid shouldn't be playing in meaningless games, say that nothing he does during the regular season is important, says that post season is the only thing that matters, complain about him either being injured or not taking care of his body but when he makes a decision to do just that he still gets slandered.
