Presti takes personality into high consideration when drafting. He can’t have another James Harden fiasco that breaks his carefully put together team apart
One of the coolest things about this thunder roster as a fan of them is that the opposing team gets no breaks at all, there are 6-8 wings on this team who all compete and are all good on the defensive end, every switch every rotation the offensive players are facing the same damn thing no matter what switch or rotation they get

NGL looking back at the series vs Dallas last year. They literally lost because of Giddy. Him being a bad shooter and a bad defender, Dallas was just completely leaving him open on offense and hunting for him on offense every possession they could. I truly believe that they would have beat dallas and the twolves if Giddy wasn't playing. He was their one weakness on both sides. And not only did they trade him for one of the best defenders in the league, they got another one of the best defenders in the league. They play literally zero bad defenders in their rotation and with the experience of last year, another year of development, and the two veterans they added they are my favorite to win the title. Basically tied with boston. People act like Dallas destroyed them and that Luka "owns" them. The biggest win in the series was the first game, which OKC won by 22. They were all close and Shai was definitively the best player on the court pretty much every game. Now OKC has zero weak offensive or defensive players and are gonna have home court advantage again. OKC could probably sweep dallas especially if Luka is as mid as he was in the series last year.

last year I was telling people in 2025 OKC is the only team that can actually contend with the Celtics. (Maybe the Knicks) and OKC proving my assumptions right 💯
To be honest, watching the nba cup game against the Mavs, they still conceded strong side corner 3 the most by over helping on drives to the rim, which was their downfall in the playoffs last year. It reminds me of the Bucks defense from a few years ago where they gave up the open 3, especially corner ones, and that was an all time defense in the regular season but got exposed in the playoffs. Now, with Dort and Caruso, they might be better at rotating to the corner on drives, but in a playoffs setting playing every other day they might run out of gas in a 7 games series. The defense, like some offenses, will live and die by the 3. We'll see how it turns out.
As a Thunder fan, I also hate how many 3s go up. Especially from Shai. However, and he’s said it himself along with coach Daiegneault just straight up asking him to do so, he’s experimenting. The league is becoming a place where if you don’t take and make 3s, you’re gonna get beat regardless.
I'm so glad that my team is getting recognition nowadays. Their chemistry is off the charts on and off the court. Ever since Westbrook left, a lot of people pretty much lost hope on if we were ever going to get a ring but the chances we have now, gives a lot of us that solitude we were missing. Imagine what type of “KD value Okc would have had back then?! Would those Warriors teams without “KD quality personnel” won championships then?

they have a 1 to 2 year window before they have to sign extensions for these guys. Some will walk given the salary cap. the rules are there to prevent dynasty.

Sam Presti is a fxckn genius damn
0:47 shit look scary and unreal asl 😂
It's insane how good okc is with such a low salary roster with so many future picks. 1 more shai caliber player added to this roster and they are going to either a finals or WCF every year for half a decade at least.
they have a 1 to 2 year window before they have to sign extensions for these guys. Some will walk given the salary cap. the rules are there to prevent dynasty.
❤They are very good because all the NBAs superstar are getting shut down by this young NBA THUNDER 🍵 team❤😊
@@nguquaxanguyen5224that’s what the draft picks are for, lose one superstar just draft another one
@Virgil191 given how good they are, they likely wouldn't be getting a superstar in the draft even if they lost one. Unless they lose Shai they will still be a pretty good team.
@@TheAloofBuddha98good thing they aren’t depending on their record for draft picks… they have 2 of Atlanta’s next year then the clippers and Houston the year after …. This continues for the next decade. Also mil . Phi and Utah next year.
THUNDER UP BABY!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ohhhhh the thunder vs rockets match up. This match will be quite the show. Let's go!!!
So you’re telling me that all they had to do was play actual defense to become the best in the league? Who would’ve thought that defense was important in 2024.
Can we get a Rockets breakdown next? They are doing pretty good.
He probably won’t we don’t get that type of respect 😂
@@clockwork8085yall actually a nice team frfr I think yall don’t get the recognition cuz yall don’t got a mvp candidate or superstar player but yall roster is solid and yall won some tough games too
Not as good as the thunder no glaze
@@clockwork8085
Rockets r only respectably good
they're gonna be nightmarish good in a couple of years. I hope they can keep it all together. OKC drafts personality as much as skill while most other teams just seem to hope for it or expect a coach to instill it. I really dig that Euro kid Houston has at the 5. Smart player and he does a little of everything to help. I expect Houston to be very good!
So they do play defense in this era?
More break downs big dog 💯
Ask any perimeter player the one matchup they don’t look forward to seeing is Lu Dort but he never gets his respect 🤦🏿♂️.
12:14 I'm going to have to see IHart sinking threes on the offensive end at a consistent clip before I judge if a team like Boston is cooked
That’s what Chet for big dawg
@TJones4L we shall see
@@TJones4LI’m a thunder fan but he’s right, his point is more having both of them shooting and giving us the option of true 5 out with all our best players
He's not a 3 point shooter, he doesn't have to be. Most of the time he'll be coming off the bench.
Love this video!!!!!!
We back baby! #ThunderUp
This is without Chet too😭 this is a finals team
Ya'll see why i play with them in NBA2k25
We are up 3-0 in the Western Conference Playoffs first round against the Kings on Hall Of Fame of course
We are the 6th seed they are the 3rd seed
Man it is fun playing as a 2 way 3 level scorer center
Me defending the paint getting boards passing the ball getting buckets myself whether layup dunk shooting
Especially getting fast breaks off blocks steals and rebound passing it too shai or chet or jalen boy oh boy it's fun
Plus we pick up two defending and rebound juggernauts i was quite shocked
We traded for Bam Adebayo and Clint Capella
Most shocking of all Ben Simmons i put ben at the guard for his passing and cutting guard post up ability
Once i was able too change the playbook
Guard post up
Cutter
Mid range
3 pointer
Really all you need change their priorities for bigs guard post up post low pick n roll
guards exceptions of shai and ben having guard post up cause of their height and size cutting mid range 3 pointer
You got Frosted Flakes in your hair
😭
2:15 its not the level of defense being played is not the same and the game has lost its grit
makes the job easier when you have. MLB suiting up as a 2 guard/small forward every night
Shai is alr a more valuable player than luka because of his positive leadership and how well he plays on both ends
Glazing and false
