Absolutely brilliant Dave, you are genuinely part of carp fishing history. When I first started late 80's carp anglers like you, maddocks, Hutchinson, McDonald were like superstars to us. Please keep the stories coming. Thank you for doing them.
Fantastic.....Just like your books. With a brother and sister on the front line nursing covid-19 patients, this is keeping me sane. Thanks Dave....legend
Definitely helping keep me sane Dave, please keep them coming as it's great hearing about not only the funny stories but also the tales from the golden era of carp fishing. It certainly makes me appreciate the readiness of modern tackle & baits, we all have people like you who've worked hard to thank for that. Love the pics of Padwar, the coolest carp dog ever.
thanks for your input during lockdown with Obssesion, Dave, I haven't carp fished since the early 90's but your recollections are reminding me of the good times when I did. I didn't catch big fish but I did follow all written about Savay, Harefield and the rest of the Colne Valley,
Simply fantastic to listen to, and reminisce over the good old 80s brought back lots of lovely memories thank you for sharing your lifes stories of fun and frolicking around fishing and more, in these uncertain times , its really great to sit down and enjoy something nice , big well done laney, keep em coming,, By way nice loft studio enjoyed watching you make it well funny 🤣🍷 regards LJ
Dave don't worry about the quality of the videos because you are doing an amazing job keeping us all entertained from a home made studio in a loft.the story's are brilliant and told with such passion, detail and enthusiasm, keep up the great work you are doing and I hope you and your family stay safe and well.
How fantastic to get an email from Paul Gummer ! This is one of the positive sides of technology. The carp fishing world is a lovely community but I’ve been part of the last 48 years.
And so you should feel proud, you've been there, done it and got the T -shirt. Sorry it's taken me so long to view these but keep up the great work Laney 👍👍👍👍
It’s brilliant to hear the stories told the way they happened. I’m probably the biggest fan of your writing and have all your books so this is like having an encore to each book ❤️👌my only complaint is It makes me so jealous I wasn’t around to enjoy carp fishing when it was at its pinnacle. But you inspire me to make the most of my fishing and try make my dreams happen. After all you can’t catch them in your living room 🎣🎣🎣thanks for your time and sharing your amazing stories with us all 👌👍🎣🎣
And thanks from me, Dave again. As an ancient, now expat, Carper, your stories of the old CV make my days, can’t fish here right now either, so the cameraderie you describe feels good. Do keep em coming, Pit 4 and beyond😀😀. Had my Haynes manuals, too🤕
Well that was superb entertainment Dave...you are that mechanic ...classic 👍Sam was absolutely f'kin mingin' but dogs will be dogs...brutal ha ha. I tried to picture wraysbury in your book...the depth and the weed was unreal. One of the lads in the eel group I'm in did a few summers on there...some right characters would pop up...you said it was a bit hairy ha...keep well 👍
Loving these stories Dave! Your making me wanna move back to the U.K. and join pit 3 again , just walking passed number 4 was enough! Watching from the Cayman Islands.
Love these blogs dave they are keeping me sane. I could listen yo your stories all day long, I fished st ives when you was on there and the stories you told then were just awesome many a night I went back to the bivvy with a big smile on my face so keep up the good work and catch you on the bank again soon Cheers Damian

Thank you for these story’s mr lane, there fantastic! Got this book from the library when I was a teenager and loved it, been trying to get a copy off this just a few weeks ago, but not possible and I live in France so even more difficult!! So for you to be doing this from one of my favourite books at this awful time is just what I and so many needed to get us through!!
Getting difficult to keep up with all your channels 😂 just finished a binge watch of these videos now.. Been a massive fan of your for a long time now.. Actually fished with yourself in the old carp schools at horseshoe lake going back mybe 20 years ago now.. Got all your books, and I sware I could listen to your story's for weeks at a time, and an actually picture my self with you all and how much of a good time you must have had back then.. Please keep these videos goin even after all this has calmed down.. 👍😁😁
Loving these Dave. I leant my copy of "Obsession" to a friend a few years ago. His dog decided to have a good old chew on it , so when i got it back i decided to sell it and unbelievably i managed to get 50 quid for it , even in that state. I still regret selling it and cant find another. Keep on keeping on 👍
I once had a dog that ate shite. The (former) missus took it to the dog pound after the pair of us were left gagging one night. Urgh. Your story bought back bad memories, but they were outweighed by the rest of the video. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the fishing, but less about Fat Sam's eating habits.
Love listening to your stories of the ole days of carping Dave, someone is selling a Cardinal reel for £120 near me would you say that is a fair price..and i love using tiger nuts i glug mine in sweet chilli sauce carp love them on a local water where i fish.
Thanks Dave. I really look forward to these. If you have ever fished Lac du Der I would love to here a bit about that. I was all set to go on a one man adventure out there next month for 3 weeks . I've fished it for the last couple of yrs . Only on the South basin but I really enjoy it . Take care Dave
Loving these blogs dave. Always liked reading all your stuff. Got all your books. I just wondered if you could tell me how you go about camouflaging your bivvys and umbrellas. What spray paint do you use and any tips on how to do it. Just paranoid about damaging the material on my bivvy. Got a mission coming up soon when all this shit is over and need to hide myself away on a big pit.
@@davelane1996 i loved left hand double and the oaks dave, so miss the comradeship of pit 4. Everyone was happy for you when you caught and as you said a beautiful lake. Loving your stories, could never get your first book, but misses got it on kindle for me 👌
Omg you’ve just had me cryin laughin at the dig eatin shit story, I’m sat in my back garden and my neighbours must think I’m mad. I’ve ad a similar thing happen to me when I was a kid fishing a local Pitt with my dog and my jack Russell scamp ate what was obviously human shit I was absolutely disgusted with that animal 😂😂
ok, here a tricky one, i asked chris ball on a forum once or twice about this so here go's.. jon holt. seeing as you have mentioned him a few times i wonder if your going to give any more snippets about him. i know there is no chance in hell of that fella ever writing a book, but would love to hear more about him. actually saw a photo of him in chris balls history book thingy on the cemex forum and spotted a pic of JH and asked chris about him, pic was promptly removed iirc at request of secret jon! you have something unique here, that 99% of the other "youtube carp anglers" only wish they had, actual interesting stories to tell, and days of them, when carp fishing was mysterious and captivating and not the circus it has become. i have no interest in watching people catch carp or make rigs or any of the other crap they pump out these days, but if i see a new tel vid coming or even more so now, one of yours coming, im excited and checking my feed constantly p.s, that black mirror thread and more so the sonning thread on cemex was the best reading ive ever done on a forum, even more so when you and tel turned up in there, as someone from the far north i used to drink in all the old history stuff, it seemed another world to me. keep it up fella, this is the best carp fishing channel bar none. THANK YOU
Well, John's stories are John's to tell really, he is a very private person so i will leave that to him. As for the other comments, thank you, it's nice to be appreciated.
