Go on dave .....what a welcome back to the pond...pay back for all the good you did for us on lockdown with your amazing stories...... karma buddy well done . Enjoy your season 😉👌
I’m three chapters into my new signed copy of fine lines and I’ve had to put it down to watch the latest instalment of blogs, as good as it’s been watching through lockdown it has been excellent watching you catch them stunners, all the best mate and thank you for taking the time to sign my book your a scholar and a gentleman good sir. 🤙🏻
Fair play to you Dave.. Great to see you out again.. I’ve watched just about everything you have ever recorded during lock down!!!. So it’s lovely to see a brand new fishing adventure. I can’t wait to get out on the bank but because so many weeks have been lost I’ve had to get back to work. I’m not complaining I’m just grateful I had a job to go back to. As always stay safe everyone and tight lines
cool to see you back in the loft, big fan of the new blog format with you presenting them from up there! it makes for more fluid watching imo. thanks for heelping us all through lockdown. tight lines & wet nets.
My local syndicate is 50 miles from home and because I live in Wales I’m not allowed to travel that distance. Thanks for stopping my head exploding Dave. Stay safe 👊🏻
Great stuff Mr Lane , glad I jumped in for Flick of the Tale 😉 , that's all 3 of yours . Like the way you cut back to the loft , pulls the video together .
Really enjoying these. Cant wait to get back out but sheilding. Fine lines arrived yesterday. Still reading Flick of the tail at the minute you are currently in Hippi country at Sonning. Thanks again
Great to see you back on the bank Dave, I've been enjoying all the blogs, Thanks for posting them, Hoping our waters open up soon so I can get out on the bank, Tight lines
C’mon get in there Dave 🎣 nice session that mate. I also got on the bank and managed to get one on the bank happy days 👍🏼... clad ya also got to do another vlog missed ya banter 😂 keep them bobbins dangling bud 🎣
My guess on the savage take and subsequent tangle would be that a decent sized eel grabbed the bait but missed the hook and then shot off with it. Once it hit the weed and got stuck it did the dance of a thousand knots and then let go when you pulled back
What a great pleasure it is to watch a fishing video without non-stop music in the background. Don't the other anglers who publish annual mini-movies understand that we're watching wild life and as fishermen the sounds of birds and the like are part and parcel of the enjoyment of the obsession.
Hi Dave, I have looked all over for your book, A Flick of the Tale, I can't find a copy. Any idea if your going to re sell that book. Tight lines Terry
Hey Terry, I've just checked all the places I knew had copies, all sold out. Keep an eye on Ebay, they'll pop up, and not at the ridiculous prices that are on there at the moment. Unfortunately I won't be doing a further print. Cheers Dave

Great video, just one of those fish up north is the fish of the season
Amazing 😉
Great content
mega ... 9 fish well done mate
Good start, Dave. Long session indeed, I did a 5 nighter myself just to knock the cobwebs off, not anywhere near as productive as yours though...
Glad to see you back on the bank dave some nice fish
Sounds like a possible eel take with the tangled rig
My guess on the savage take and subsequent tangle would be that a decent sized eel grabbed the bait but missed the hook and then shot off with it. Once it hit the weed and got stuck it did the dance of a thousand knots and then let go when you pulled back
It must be bizarre fishing the lakes round there without a great big plane coming in or out every 45 seconds!
Iv been wanting to ask are you doin anything eles but didn't wanna push lol.. Thank you 👍
Well done dave another great vlog, that cob you use, where did u get it and are they still avaliable?
The savage take could have been a spawning pike hitting the lines had it happen too me loads one session
Good video dave! Anybody got any day ticket waters they recommend?
Just wondering what mainline braid you use if pos? Cheers fella
Quality m8
Hi dave, great session well done, Question for you? How do you keep your batteries charged for your boat on a long session like that? Regards LJ.
I just have one battery mate, but it's a lithium one and last at least a week.
Dave, your still a nutter. lol (ya sure know how to load a boat) :)
laney how do you keep a chicken fresh after 5 days, more so in hot weather?
Whoops a daisy lol

How big was the eel?
about as big as my arm, which it was wrapped around!
😂
Awesome mate love your vlogs. Would love to know what you tend you use bottom baits pop ups? Also do you ever use zigs?
