Hi Dave, Absolutely love your videos you tell the story so brilliantly and in great detail, I know that Pete Springate and few other’s had fished Wraysbury it in the late 80’s! When you and Phil started fishing it and after reading your book it made an impression on me, Pioneering stuff and I love the fact that you named all the swims and they still exist to this day 👍
Dave the story about the boat/sieve using a plate and a saucepan for oars is the funniest thing ive heard so far in all these brilliant films.....thanks for taking us there to relive it all again..very grateful for all that you are doing...👏👏
Hi Dave, just starting watching your videos and I am absolutely addicted! Just brings so many memories back from carp fishing when I started carp fishing in 1991 age 14! In fact I’ve just been and fetched my my old jrc bed chair out the shed with your name on it so I can watch your videos 😂 my mrs thinks I’m barmy but I don’t care☝️thanks pal much appreciated in lockdown 👊Danboy
I haven't fished for a couple of years, spend my time photographing birds, but having followed your exploits over the past few weeks there's a very good chance I might be dusting off my rods. Inspiring stuff Dave. Have watched your videos over the past 15 or so years but these ''recollections'' take me right back. Thank you.
Well done again mate, the highlight of my day. I could listen to you all day,and i think others will also say yes to that. Keep them coming 💥💥💥💥💥👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Dave Lane for doing this series and helping us stay sane during these strange times. I've even got the wife listening and passing comment. Making it very clear that she wouldn't have put up with me going as much as you. 😄 really enjoyed listening to some of the old stories. Thanks again mate.👍
Loving these stories Dave, reminds me of my days fishing around the, wavelock brollies. insectiverous bird food boilies, Lafuma low-chairs. simpler times, and the fish were real characters.
Hi Dave, these are utterly fantastic. I watched the first 7 on the bounce and have started to re-read my copy of 'An Obsession with Carp', one of my prize possessions. It makes my day during lockdown. Caught up now and currently watching Episode 14. I started fishing late 80's so it brings back a lot of memories and as you said in an earlier episode, if i could go back to them times I wouldn't change a thing. Cheers Dave, you're as legend.
this was great , i really like this wrasbury blog, and its mad to see hes gone from being totaly broke from fishing all the time, to its now paying the bills, from in a shared house, to a garage that costs more than most houses, a great turn around and really well deserved, cant wait for the next 1
These are the highlight of my day, absolutely enthralling, you mentioned "Wembley Bob" we knew him as " Whispering Bob" before he fished Wraysbury, a real character for sure.
Thanks Dave for putting this time in on a bit of a insight in what you have done over the past years regarding your fishing keep them coming please mate
Have to say I've never bought a carp fishing book in my life, caught my first carp in 1986 aged 7 and have been addicted since. I've loved your stories so much I have bought both your books lol. Keep it up Dave loving it mate👌🏻
Absolutely loved this Dave. Have followed you since i took up Carping years back. You actually answered a question in Total Carp for me years ago and i won a Bivvy. This got me hooked and lots of Carping followed. Havent been for a while became obsessed with lure fishing for Wrasse and Bass but boy do i want to go now after your great stories. Keep it going really helps with the cabin fever at minute. Cheers mate. Just realised i commented as my alter ego. What a numb nuts. Cheers Adrian Evans.
Brilliantly entertaining Dave. Watched part 1 other day and you left out the Dredger pic you said you would ping up. Be great to see that iconic pic at some point? With all this lockdown going on, you are keeping us all sane till we can get back out there. Beer on the way👏👏👏👏👏 thankyou. £5 sent. Already have your books or would have bought those too.
Superb again Dave... Now you’re getting to the part where the men are separated from the boys... up to now all was quite nice.. now the tackle thefts have started. Geezer’s walking around the lake with guns!!!. No car no work!!!. That would have been me done😂😂😂
Loving the stories. They get better and better. I know technically wraysbury is the last chapter in the book. But would love to hear about Colnemere and the black mirror too? (ill buy you another pint 😉)
You’re the fucking man Dave. Open a beer on the next episode so we can all open one together, il even buy “speckled hen” for the first time for the occasion
Thank God dave i was going insane checking youtube every hour! Please try and do a vid every day i know thats a big ask but it gives me something to be exited about when i get up!😷
Great videos Dave. Question: Did you never have any gear nicked? When you go for a walk round or go to the pub did you just leave all your kit in the bivvy?
