i too am 100% convinced they comunicate, little local lake , i used feed fish, my bait in a area that was un fishable , just to see there reactions, gin clear water only 3 -4 ft deep(biggest was 20 lb on a good day) , i accidentally spooked a white tipped mirror,very recoganiseable fish, was a koi i suppose , that was feeding, some time went by and other fish came in an fed, bout 4-5 by now , the white tipped one, came in head butted his mate , within seconds all the fish were gone, never returned , the bait was still there a few days later
