My 2004 1.9 vivaro has had this boost fault on there since forever and the glow plug light won't go out, I've replaced everything and chased all wiring, the fault I got seems related to the relay you mentioned as I get low power from maf, boost solenoid and egr, any idea which relay powers these up please?

I would think there power supply would be from the ECU but I’m not sure you would have to look at a wiring diagram

It’s hard to find training sessions that you’ll remember like that Alan, good resolve in the wind up. What do you think would happen if the air flow sensor was cleaned??

The air flow looked good and clean strange that at idle it read 16g/s but just when egr opened it didn’t bring the numbers down to 8g/s and egr was commanded to open @100% to get them numbers down air flow all good @ 1000,1500 &2000rpm a strange one air flow sensor slightly out of whack

any harm in just blocking off the egr other than emissions ?

No harm at all it’s just that the ECU would flag a fault for not seeing any change in airflow when the EGR is commanded open

did that old boost solenoid have a rattle when shook ? i jus tested mine after watchin this and it shows 12v wen back probed on both wires so prosuming its good ? but it does rattle wen knocked about on its rubber mount ?

    • @deisediagnostics629

They do rattle when shook you could have a broken wire the control wire from the computer to the solenoid but that should give you a voltage low fault code

now we just need a cure for the accelerator not responding for a while after starting, very common fault
