This is particularly amusing since I just repaired my $3 mask I use for mowing the lawn...........I noticed the elasticity was about gone from the straps but the mask was perfectly good still so I found a piece of gold elastic cord that came on a Christmas present and used that as replacement straps...........I think I deserve some sort of Cheapskate Award for that move.
Great video, I have the opportunity to buy one of these secondhand and wasn’t quite sure what the set up was. So this has given me a great insight into what I could be getting.
Does the airflow stop your glasses from fogging up inside the mask? That is a great outfit. I need to get a new face shield for grinding. I had purchased a really good one but when covid hit there was a call for PPE for the paramedics, so I took all my shop supplies to them. Gloves, facemasks and my new shield. But it was a small donation compared to the sacrifice our front line workers make every day.
Hi Chris! Yes it works great with my glasses! I should have mentioned that in the video. No fog at all. Nice and clear. The airflow feels good on my face too. That’s great that you donated your supplies! I’m sure it was appreciated. 😃🙌
It is crazy that certain ppe devices are so expensive...i paid less for my bridgeport. Anyway, i agree with you, i just wish the price was more palatable. Cheers
Yea they are definitely scamming people with the price. I have a 3m speedglas 9100 welding shield and the replacement parts for it is stupid expensive. The face seal is over $100 the hose on the back is $100. Every little replacement part is around $100 when it’s just simple fabric or hose. At most the cost should be at most half of what they charge.
This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, Jon! I got a beard about your length, so I figure it's time to stop breathing in all those micro particles. Great vid! Thanks again! 🤙
Looks like every time you flip it up small dust can get on the inside lens or material seal because you push it up above your glasses onto the top of the hood which has dust on because it’s exposed to the outside.
That is very true! 3M does have a hood that solves that problem. It attaches to the top of the visor and drapes over the top of the whole helmet and more. Right On! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Too bad that you have to drill the indents to actually mount the earmuffs. I wanted to add my own earmuffs to my factory helment and I'm not happy about modifying the helmet that's not my property. I thought that they will be more simple to install. Are the screws added with them ?
Great advice, everyone should have a PAPR. My company has been at work on a PAPR that's simpler (all in one design monocoque manifold). Our aim is a PAPR that's more accessible to the DIY crowd. When we have certification, would you be willing to give it a try to compare? Its called MicroClimate Air3.
I've been using the same filter for about 8 months so far, I'm in the shop maybe 2-3 times a week for a few hours at a time. My filter is at 25% life remaining. I was able to buy a box of 10 filters off eBay as surplus super cheap. Best purchase I've made for my shop
@@shoangore I think that almost sounds too good to be true. Ain't the regular painting filters not safe anymore after round about 40 hours on air? Thanks for the reply though.
Ha, I looked at the price. I can't afford to be safe. I just want something that does not fog my glasses and my glasses don't compromise. I can't justify something that costs more than my table saw ;)

Nice! Jon-san!
That is what i was talking about... what a great respirator. Now I gotta go shopping!!!!!

Nice unit Jon. I will have to save up for one looks well worth it.
Gracias , ya lo vi en el vídeo,👌👌👌👌
Right On! 🙌
Interesting to see how the ear defenders fitted, that's what I came here hoping to see! Thanks a lot!
Right On! I did buy some 3m work tunes headphones. I’m going to try and put those on for some tunes! 🙌✨

I saw some miller garage there. Nice.
Hi John! That is some awesome mask set-up! Great stuff!!!!!

Right On! 🙌 I use this all the time! It was one of the best investments I have made. I should have bought one years ago! Thanks!

Hello Jon,
Good review... Thank you...
Take care.

Podría decirme cómo coloco los auriculares?Gracias
get the back pack, so much more comfortable than the belt
Any Idea if this could be fitted with a auto darkening welding visor?
3m has a welding helmet with the same type of respirator. I’m thinking of getting that one as well 👍⚡️⚡️⚡️
@@RightOnJonCrane Quite expensive to buy two, I was hoping a single unit could do duty from toxic 2K paints to Welding
@@MrRfries Perhaps two helmets and one respirator cartridge?
Versaflo M-153SG welding shield can be attached to all M series versaflo headtops :)
Your store link doesn’t seem to be working right now, Jon.
Does it work for vapors/paint?
Yes but be sure to get the Versaflo tr-600 or better. Then you can get air filter cartridges for paint. 😃👏 Thanks for watching!
Yeah, that NoCry forestry stuff is good, inexpensive PPE.
I'm getting one, but it's gonna take a while saving my pennies.
I'd love to get one, but for 1600 dollars I'll have to do some saving first
I wonder how long those filters last. They’re very expensive.
That's what stopped me bothering with this long ago. Nobody was able to tell exactly how long it lasts and whats the costs eg. per month.

Good man
Too bad they don't take standard 30mm hard hat mounts
Muito top ✌️✌️✌️✌️👌👌👌
Right On! 🙌Thanks Gerson!
It's only $1,715 too! I'll stick with a $50 canister mask.
It’s not cheap! But it’s an investment I wish I made many years ago!
@RightOnJonCrane i going to save money. My friend who is a woodworker
Got cancer on his lungs 🫁. 1700 is so cheap compared with get cancer .

😊✌️🤗👍🤔
Mind went in the trash due to the unjustifiable cost of the spares.....
It all depends where you get them. I got a ten pack for $35 🙌
lmao
😄🤣😄

Great demonstration of equipment use. Thanks for the look.
