1:05 Identifying the Vehicle
5:22 Battery Frame Rails
6:39 Master Door Code
8:30 HVJB
11:04 Warranty Considerations
13:21 Rock Chips
16:16 Missing Features
18:40 Missing Accessories
21:07 Subscription Services
24:23 Software Updates
27:35 Closing Thoughts - Power & Suspension
29:18 BONUS - Parking Assistance - Авто та транспорт
You can find the master door code by opening the panel in the lower front passenger area by the fusebox and read the code off the label on the Body Control Module.
Same place as on my fusion. It took some twister like movement to get under there to find it😅
Great video. Very informative! I’m about to go buy a used 21 premium
Congrats on the purchase, you're going to love it!
13:39 - somebody was using their car as a Mach-E Rally (before the Mach-E Rally was a "thing").
The ‘21-22 GT did have the option of a steel roof as well 👍
Didn't realize that! Thanks for the information
great vid thanks
Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Dude you are you mad...
I'm literally looking to purchase GT Mach-e from my neighbor 2023. Thanks for your tips 😁
Good luck! The GT is awesome
Going to buy a brand new one in a few months , saved money for 5 years , im spending 1200 a month on gas for work commute and cant afford it anymore, going electric
What trim are you going to get? It's a great car and I'm loving mine more and more!
Good video. I don't have any rock chips on my Mach-e. The normal cause of rock chips is following too close behind the car in front of you. Touch up paint from the dealer is a cheap fix.
Can you please tell me, what are the after market companies that sell the kick to open add-on?

Note that the install is quite involved.
Yeah, man mine doesn't have any of those paint chip problem or windshield chip problems. What did the previous owner drive through?
Someone definitely drove my car through a gravel storm. I did a fair amount of research on it and it has happened to several people, but I'm guessing they might have bad driving habits
I saw the same model and the year that has like 9k miles, would that be a good buy? for electrical cars if the miles are super low for a 3 years old one, is that considered worse off in the near future compare to a similarly aged car that had decent used miles on it?
It's still important to get as low mileage as you can as there are still lots of components that wear with usage such as suspension, interior and exterior finishing, tires, brakes, etc. The only concern I might have is that someone left the car in a low charge state for a long period of time which could be damaging to the battery, but it's pretty unlikely. More likely that someone bought it and just didn't drive much. I'd say go for it!
Great video. I was actually considering buying a 2022 Premium and was doing research. Do you mind sharing how much you paid for your vehicle?
The market has changed drastically since I bought mine. I actually got into an accident that wrote off the car in this video and I bought a used 2022 Premium (I'll be making a video soon on it). I paid $52,000 Canadian back in March.
@@DustinBatchelor Oh wow. Hope you are ok from the accident. Thank you. I look forward to the video.
Happy 2024!
Thanks, same to you!
How long do they take to charge at a public charger and with the 220v home charger?
There's lots of things that will impact charging speed. Temperature of the battery, amperage/voltage, current state of charge, and the total capacity of the battery in the car (normal vs extended). If we take best (and simple) case scenarios at home (11 kW charger), then you just need to divide the battery capacities (72 and 91) by 11. From complete zero it would take 6.5 hours for the normal capacity and 8.25 hours for extended. Public rapid charging is a bit more complex as you typically don't want to charge above 80%. The extended range will charge at up to 150 kW, but that speed increases and decreases depending on the state of charge. Plan for about thirty minutes if you are very low on charge and find a fast station.
Is there a way to see battery health like you can on Teslas?
Not easily from the car. You have to use an OBD 2 reader and specific applications to get a general idea.
Has there been a fix for the HVJB fix yet? Looking to buy one soon that has the recall and curious if I’ll be able to take it to get it fixed or still have to wait for a fix to come out.
I know Ford has a new part that they are installing now as part of the recall, but it's not readily available yet to most people. I expect to be waiting for another several months before I can get mine replaced.
Just wanted to post an update that my HVJB recall part arrived and I'm getting it installed this Thursday
@@DustinBatchelor Great! Thanks for the update. I’m anticipating buying a used Mach E later today and that’s good to know that it’ll be possible soon to get that fixed.
@@MewingFugur good luck with the purchase! Let me know if you have any questions about the car you're buying
I had a ‘21 Select that did have the parking assist. I tried it, and it worked, but it was also painfully slow and of limited utility.
I traded this week for a ‘23 Mach-E Premium.
Thanks for the feedback and congrats on the upgrade!
@@DustinBatchelor I really loved my Select and would have been happy keeping it for years, but with the price cuts announced this week I quickly figured I could easily manage it.
I live in Whitehorse, Yukon and my Select AWD was the best winter driver I’ve ever owned.
@@Thunderbuck Do you notice any major differences after 2 months of owning the '23 Premium now over the 21' Select?
@@lukasburkel1250 Not a ton. Better handling with the 19” wheels and the glass roof is nice (though it loses a LOT of heat in the cold).
You look i can't afford to buy a EV new .but have a dout about a use one about the . Battery .
I've been driving EVs since 2013 when I bought a new 2012 Nissan Leaf. I've had multiple EVs since then and all of them are still on the road. It's not a concern in my opinion.
The remaining battery life CAN be determined with an OBD-II reader. If I were buying used I’d get an inspection from a mechanic who’s experienced with EVs and they will certainly check this.
Update for what?
Ford is constantly releasing updates to the car to improve functionality.
@DustinBatchelor Hey I really appreciate it now I'm using your reply so I can sound smart because I had no idea
@@empowerimpact6324 they've really improved several things with just how the user interface works on the screen. Also more important aspects such as how the car performs. One of my recent updates was to adjust how the stereo sounds!
I just renewed my $2599 power steering and $2995 power brakes subscriptions on my 1983 Mercedes 300TD diesel. The electric windscreen wiper and power windows subscriptions ($1299 each) aren't due until Spring and well worth it!
You joking,right?
LOL
Ask the service how much to replace all 35 rotten rubber cooling hoses...PROPRIETARY cooling hoses!
Why are they calling this a Mustang? It does not even look like one. No Mustang had 4 doors until now. No Mustang had all wheel or front wheel drive. Just slapping two ponies on a piece of metal does not make it a Mustang. Call it whatever you want, but don't call it a Mustang!
True, it is definitely much faster than any other factory mustang so I can see your argument :)
With that being said, I myself have never attached myself to the name of the vehicle but have always looked at the merits of the vehicle itself. This has taken me to several brands in my vehicle ownership journey - Asuna, Pontiac, Chrysler, Mazda, Acura, Honda, Nissan, and Chevrolet. I'm sure Ford had a reason and it's their decision to do what they want with the naming standard. Don't let a name push you away from a truly great vehicle!
They wanted the vehicle to get attention.
There’s only one thing to know…. Don’t.
Buy a Tesla instead, sooo much better.
AND additionally you then have access to the amazing Supercharger network.
Hey thanks for the comment! Been driving EVs since 2013 and I'm happy to support all EV manufacturers. There should never be 'one manufacturer' for anything. Variety is the spice of life right? Glad you enjoy your Tesla!
Ford is getting access to the Supercharger network this spring, and current Mach-E owners will receive a free NACS adapter.
I’ve rented Teslas twice for long road trips and I agree there’s a lot to like and the Supercharger experience is outstanding. But I’ve also driven in Vancouver where every third car now is either a Model Y or a Model 3 and it would be a real struggle for me to drive something so common.
Tesla?
You mean the car that you have to use a tablet for every aspect of the car including adjusting your mirrors and opening the glove compartment? That Tesla?
The Mach-E is definitely the “better” EV when it comes to styling and workmanship etc.
And now with the SuperCharger access… 🤔
Pretty much a NO BRAINER.
PS
Your comment didn’t age well 🫠
@@THEDOPEGAME ROFLMAO.
My comment continues to age VERY well, just like my 4.5 year old Tesla, which is absolutely brilliant. Enjoy your FORD, and just hope that nothing goes wrong with it.
Why the hell do you think that Tesla is BY FAR the top selling EV in the whole world.
@@DustinBatchelor Love your outlook and positivity for all EV's! We need more variety to suit more people! - Liv
