Proper replacements are pretty easy to find on ebay. Using rubber bands is a stupid solution and can permanently break things. Stretching improperly sized belts over parts like that can burn the motors out and ruin bearings. They where not made to take lateral force

I am so happy to see new video from you!
The atmosphere in your videos is so welcoming that i feel like home. The way that videos are filmed and edited adds to that. I also like that every product that you show has its story.
The nostalgia is strong here for the good old days when tinkering with tech was just a way of passing time.

"when life was as simple as spending time with the people I loved, and taking an entire afternoon to tinker with an old piece of tech" hit me so hard in the feels. I wasn't even having a rough day or anything but that line has me almost in tears.
A time is coming where life will be that simple again for you. Hang in there until then. It might be in this life when you're very old, spending time with grandkids and that sort of thing, and then coming home and tinkering, or it might be in the next life. Either way, those days are not over.
Thank you for your beautiful videos.

love you man, you got me into building pc's at a young age. my first build was inspired by your videos, it was an older optiplex which i then swapped a q6600, 8gb off ddr3 and a gtx 750ti. It felt like i had a sleeper of a pc just from the looks compared to the performance. i was so proud of myself thanks to you. I recently built my new setup (i5 9400f, rtx 2060, 16gb ddr4) and i had your channel on my mind the whole time. Your channel is very unique with the content you produce, you hit a niche market and you thrive, i can't wait for your next upload!

My dad's had one of these for just over a decade now and he's a man with a thousand CD's in every room and has huge filing cabinets ordered alphabetically and orders the actual draws/cabinets by era and genre sometimes. This CD stacker has been amazing for him, it's like an everchanging 300 album playlist which he puts on shuffle knowing it'll always be something he hasn't heard in a while and will be pleasant because he's been replacing the most listened to CD's in the machine. It's amazing for anyone who loves music but doesn't want to go through the effort of learning about technology or doesn't want to pay for Spotify.
Best bit is he's never had a belt issue with the unit... Touch wood

Yes, we inherited one of these from one of our parents, full? of his CD's which I have yet to play. Somewhere I have a legend dutifully logged by Ralphie (thankyou) but it is hardly full. I am thinking that these were mainly for venues, shops ? that play stream music all day long? Or maybe just for ne3rds like us who still love our CD's and can't bear to discard them!

The older I grow, the more appreciation I gain for music and listening to complete projects from artists. A big part of this is my love for collecting vinyl, the format is impractical and a complete pain in the arse, but can sound amazing, there is something very rewarding about it, but with vinyl prices higher than they've been for almost 20 years, I've found myself buying a lot of CDs recently (mainly used one thrifted as they're so cheap and you can find a lot of great stuff, often a lot better than used records). My current setup for playing them is an old Blu-Ray player attached via optical to my (very similar to yours) Yamaha cinema receiver, it works but is pretty slow and this video has reminded me to get a decent CD player, maybe not something like this though lmao. While I've been studying away from home I've just been using my Xbox One - not very practical at all, I only use it for stuff I can't stream in decent quality. Great video and a very interesting piece of kit, always good to hear from you Tim.

I have one of these stackers, they are awesome although I'll admit.... I never put more than 10 CDs in it at a time. I also got my friend one with a broken belt for cheap, and he uses it much more than me along with the CD text features.
Even though I don't really want to use my unit as intended I really want one of the Blu-ray players they made which uses a similar large disk carousel. I definitely wouldn't use it enough or keep many discs in it but It would be a really cool gimmick IMO.
