Very cool!! I came across that instrument many years ago, but didn't think much of it. Seeing you play opens up my desire to give it a go someday! Well played 💪!!
It takes a minute to set up a Dulcimer up to play more eastern style tunes and other folk styles besides Bluegrass and Celtic music. But once I found the modes I got pretty engrossed in it. Hungary has a great tradition of this kind of instrument playing. Citera or Hungarian zither I think its called. A lot of Hungarian fiddle tunes can be played on a mountain dulcimer. They sound really good.
@@barefootarts737 Yes, the hungarian zither is amazing! Very interesting music to get lost in for quite some time ;)! And very rich sounding due to all the drones. There are really complex zithers around. Astonishing! Have you ever tried playing yours with a bow? To have "only" 3 strings minimalizes many musical concepts, but also enhances them because you actually need to make "much" out of "less". Like transitioning from a drumkit to a cajon. I also want get my fingers on a Dombra, or Khomys somewhere in the future! Plucked stringed instruments with 2-3 strings. There's a lot to learn hidden behind those minimalistic "limitations" ;)!
