Those blankets are so beautiful! Dibbs is looking good running those barrels!
Another pleasurable video!
Thanks!!
I don’t know how he does it but Henson always has a twinkle in his eye.
Haven't you seen who he's married to ??
That Johnny is a high stepper. Nice results for Dibs. Thanks for another great video. Take care, Al
Yea ! I am so glad Ghost is back ! I really like your horse Ghost ! I am sorry he is not in good condition thats not good😒he sure looked good when he left.Well he is home now and you will get him back to his beautiful healthy self. I love how beautiful and healthy you keep all your stock;such a joy to watch you and Henson work and play as you take us along in your every day life, thanks for the updates laughs you share !
I'd like to see the training video please 😊
Great video as always.I couldn't cook either when first married.😂 lucky he was a chef.
WOW them saddle blanket are awesome sis
Great video, hubby and I met in High School Rodeo, Tri County Rodeo Team 50 years ago! 😳 good job Riley.
Every video is fantastic 🤩 and thank you so much for sharing with us 😘What gorgeous 🥰Navajo pads and what skilled craftsmen and craftswomen who made them 👏👏Wonderful work with Johnny 🐴
Great to see a PD ranch horse competing........and doing so good! All the hard work put into what you do is worth it! As you know a well bred, good solid barrel horse is worth a lot! Takes an athletic, fast horse with a brain to take the pressure of the road! Your bloodlines deserve attention in the performance world!!
I really like Henson's comments and explanations. Your comments are also great. Your blog is one of my favorites.
Just began watching. I'm excited! Let the show begin
Good morning PDR!
Henson is a great horseman! Would love to intern or work under him! Keep up the great work!
By now you guys know I'm a dedicated fan. I did lots of ground work because I didn't have the skill you all have. Shocking, I started every 18 month to a cart. When they started driving quarter horses at national shows, I did it. Driving them for 6 months sets them up for riding. Also public stable is light years away from your beautiful ranch. Thank you for all your video.
I really enjoyed the video!! What a good life. 👍
I lije the 90 ride idea. Even when my QH gelding was age 5 when he went to a trainer ut was for 90 days. I went to work with the trainer and my horse after 30 days. The time was well worth it. Every horse learns dif and the 90 days gives the trainer the time to get the horse to understand what is expected. And as Henson mentioned safer. Also the trainer will be better able to advise the owner on wha to expect of that horse.
That horse, Johnny, is quite impressive looking, nicely muscled.
Beautiful saddle blankets!
Horses doing good ...
So many old jokes about " Johnny!" 😅😅
Yeah dibs and Riley! Way to go!
The saddle blankets are beautiful! I have always said, one could write a book about the multiple uses of baling twine and duck tape. I love the red roan. Thanks for sharing.
Henson is breaking chap’s as well man ol man
Johnny is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!
Johnny is a good looking young stud
Good looking stallion what is his blood lines
I love Lincoln! More of him working. Please?
He has passed away
I hope Jerry keeps that red roan! Nice horse.
Danielle THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWIING SUNNY'S BLANKET😚😚😚😍😍

Bună dimineața Danille❤
How is CZAR doing now? Has he had that next x-ray yet? What does his leg look like now? Always thinking about him & praying for him!💜🐎
Me too
Everything looks the same. Riley’s mom is my vet- she will make a trip out when she gets a chance.
LOL riding that many green colts you have to have motivating legs.... lol
Glad you found Loki, he's living the dream! Funny how he runs around the corral just like Lincoln used to do. He was meant to be there. Looking forward to seeing Czar.🌵☀️
Oh the old hay string. We do that here. But i recently stopped doing the tie to the haystring with my mare. In her case she is prone to being headshy and would pull back at any opportunity. So to save the lead rope i would use the haystring. Anyway it started to be a thing. So i ended up just letting the rope and fence take the hit. The rope and fence held the one time she couldn't go anywhere that time. So far she hasn't tried again. So yea its great but not for a mare that takes advantage of it haha
That’s funny. Smart horse
Hay twine is great stuff
Cool to see kola Isaiah Stewart's artwork on yalls clothing!
I insisted when colts came to me that they had to come for 90 days minimum. I also offered unlimited lessons free while the horse was in training with me always helped when they took the horse home...
Ivy is beautiful!!❤ Johnny is too sassy for me. He's scary. Glad Hensen is teaching him manners.
Thanks for sharing the videos of Riley and Dibbs! Congratulations Riley!
Yeah we ve used baling twine for tying up horses for years now , your right save you breaking lead ropes or halters etc , cheap string because plenty when you open hay bales ... horses are looking good as always !
Johnny is nice looking for sure
That is Mane
👍
Interesting rationale about bumping / kicking your legs as part of training Henson talks about here. I've noticed he does that a lot and wondered why, esp with spurs. In other videos I've seen Troy (or someone else I don't recall) flappin' his legs so much and conspicuously , I was expecting (i) blood, (ii) thrown rider or (iii) horse and rider get airborne together and fly off into the sunset! Henson's approach seems almost subtle by comparison.
No two people ride the same. I like to say- if it works, it works. If there’s blood and hurt people then obviously it’s not working and other methods should and probably will eventually be used. I appreciate that Troy is willing to learn and is trying very hard in progressing his horsemanship. (P.S. spurs aren’t intended to draw blood- they’re a very effective tool for cowboys) Thank you for watching and thank you for voicing your observations.
How does one get a blanket or two
You gotta come to the Rez 😁
@@PaintedDesertRanch Ok, because I'm lucky enough to be able to go to Snowflake in May so I'll be in the area..
This man is so golden it's beautiful who's his sire? He's really nice thank y'all for the video enjoy it so much.
Which one?
The first one the Red roan
Knight Owl
Thank you so much
Great channel. How do you decide which young colts to geld? and at what age? Please keep the videos coming!!
Almost everything gets gelded unless the owner wants to keep it a stud.
What is the tall building frame for or going to be have wondered since I started watching your channel
Was supposed to be a barn…. Started a LONG time ago but material kept getting stolen so it was never completed
Thanks for the reply and as always I enjoy watching the colts being ridden and do have Henson explain why he ties the ropes that way always a practical and interesting reason for the way he does things
Thank You PDR for answering my question. When do you guys deworn your horses? Is Flicka still at the Ranch for her start or is she back with her owners? When do you guys cut or castrate the colts?
Deworming is done when needed- fall and spring time for sure. Flicks is still here, she will be going home soon. We don’t castrate any babies/weanlings that leave. We castrate the others anytime between their yearling and two year old years
Did something happen to Dash? Or just prepping for the future?
Question
How much do you guys charge to start out a fillie
Email us
Hi ive been watching your videos. I was wondering how much is the price range for a horse like jhony
Johnny isn’t ours. But a horse with 90 rides starts at 10k
Oh i thought it was one of your horses you sell in your ranch, thank you though!

Cool. Make a channel and we can all watch you not say um 😂
Somebody die and make you the new video director, David? Don't quit your day job.
The umms are what I like. It’s spontaneous, not rehearsed. Feels like Danielle is conversing with me.
Hes probably part arabian with his tail up while running
