Finally something that has no relation to Nintendo Switch 2
Little do you know that Nintendo is releasing a cartridge with The Zelda Movie loaded in it along side the Switch 2
exactly
lmfao
Whenever a director says how much they're a "fan" of the franchise of the film they're adapting, I get M Night Shyamalan's Avatar The Last Airbender flashbacks
Come on, that’s just one example.
@@dimentioruleslooking at the sonic movie the director literally worked on project shadow so I'm very excited for sonic 3
Oh, I believe he's a fan of the cartoon, he's just an incomptent director.
Didn't know he was a fan. But I know that it takes more than passion to get a film right. I'm looking at his Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes movie as a test.
@@francoperalta5986 Yeah that’s true. I think fans have a tendency to assume that as long as the creator is a “TRUE FAN” whatever that means, then everything is gonna be great. And if the end result doesn’t please the fanbase then they “DIDN’T CARE ENOUGH” or even worse “THEY ONLY WANTED TO EXPLOIT US, THE TRUE FANS”
I kinda sympathise with a lot of creators of adaptations like this. Yes, there are plenty of them who genuinely do not care about the source material. But for those who ARE genuine true fans… trying to create something that pleases an entire fanbase, containing a vast multitude of people who have completely differing opinions about what the piece of media SHOULD be, is a near impossible task
Especially with Zelda, a franchise that spans so many different faces, and tones, and storylines. Everyone has a different idea of what The Legend of Zelda is TO THEM. And trying to translate that to LIVE ACTION is probably gonna piss some people off regardless of how they do it.
Also the fact that miyomoto will be a huge role in making the movie.. I i have faith.
I imagine he might consider making a cameo as the Happy Mask Salesman at some point during the movie since he's based on him. That would be so cool if it happened.
"Story isn't important."
@@Socioromanticism Pretty sure that was Aonuma who said that with Miyamoto saying the opposite actually stating an inmersive story is the one key way players can be invested in the adventure.
Eh...Miyamoto's involvement didn't stop the Mario Bros movie from being forgettably mediocre... or receiving bad jokes, poor pacing and pop song needle drops.
@@alexs29for me the Mario movie was a 7/10 and the pop songs were there because of illumination plus jokes and pacing were again because of illumination
“There’s just some things that you can’t recapture in a live-action movie”
Avatar fans in 2010: “Oh trust us, WE KNOW”
Laughs in The Hobbit fan.
Every Hollywood director says those things before a movie comes out. Everyone thinks their own ideas are great. They are just empty words until you can actually SEE something.
There’s a Zelda movie?!
Yes!!!!
You've been living under a rock?!
@@javiervasquez625 apparently!
@@SpikeyyyGDyeah it was announced on Twitter with no big announcement unfortunately
Where have you been…
I just hope they don’t make link talk 🤫
It's probably gonna happen. But I'm sure it's fine. They made mario talk and yes, it has controversy, but the voice grown in me.
I wish it was studio Ghibli making it 😢
It still could be Ghibli esc in live action! Wes ball has talent just search up ‘The Mouse Guard’ movie! It was canceled but demo footage from the movie are available on UA-cam. He can also make world look great (you can really see this in the kingdom of planet of the apes especially) Plus Wes Ball is a Zelda fan.
Yeah, like how the Fanmade Ghibli Zelda looks like. 😢
Some positive news although i lost the link to the tweet or whever I read it, but, supposedly one of the directors or producers (Some top guy working on the movie) said in an interview that they were hoping for a ghibli style look to the zelda movie they're making! The directors know what the fans want, but idk how they'll execute it
@@freesby1019 let's hope so!!
I would have preferred animated to keep the cartoony vibe to the movie but now that I know the director I trust him with my life
Same, since Sony is developing the film, they could’ve gave it Spiderverse vibs, but I’ll give them a chance on a live action
@@NintendoPlayer307hey it could be like the sonic movie where it's live action CGI and animation (ex the lightning on sonic was animated with 2d softwares!!!!)
I mean, not if it was gonna be done by Illumination.
Wind Waker is not the only game in the series. The first two Zelda games had more realistic official art by Katsuya Terada and were written with inspiration from Lord of the Rings books.
@@Luxembourgish ehhh you are making a good point, but that 'official' art is both barely official and not very accurate.
Please don’t give Link tights. Please don’t give Link tights. 😖🤞
Remember the Smosh Zelda Rap?
"He Wears Tights Everyday Don't give a damm what you say"
so you prefer bare-legged Link? how retro.
Just let him tuck it'll be fine
Please *give* Link tights. He's based on the medieval times and the movie should capture this essence. Link has had them since the second game, and his Robin Hood look in Ocarina of Time is iconic, the medieval aesthetic is what makes the series what it is.
He wears tights.
Nintendo, you have another game in good director hands! 👍
Plz let link be silent tbh
he isnt silent in the games. you chose what to say using text. the only reason he didnt speak is hardware limitations. in breath of the wild he doesnt speak because of choice. if anything let him speak only when nececary.
@@Rypandagaming I mainly meant that him to be silent, I do understand he speaks for brief moments or makes sounds, I just prefer him to be mostly silent.
@@natex47 I agree but even if he speaks more
Il still love the movie as a fan!
@@natex47
My guess is that he will be the silent type, he's not going to talk more than he should, and have the cast carry most of the dialogue.
I hope we get a colorful party to accompany Link; a Zora magician, a Goron engineer, a Deku comic relief. Something like that.
Well ExCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME PRINCESS
The ganondorf looks cursed...
Clips are a fan-film. Not the trailers if you don’t already know.
@@Beyond_Beyblade oh thank god
Since Wes Ball has taken inspiration from Hayao Miyazaki’s style for the Legend of Zelda movie , my hope it has a well established relationship of Link x Princess Zelda’s relationship (where started out at best of friends in the beginning until their journey evolves them into be lovers) and a new iteration of them traveling hyrule together
There's been maybe three instances of Zelda and Link actually being a couple in the entire series, it's not a highly necessary thing.
@@ElFreakinCidTHANK you. 👏
Well, it is true What you say, but the Director of the Avatar Live Action Show said the same thing and at the end it was complete garbage
Yet despite all of that happened, it still was greenlit for two more seasons…
Tbf Avatar was already a fully realized and highly acclaimed cartoon series. It not only didn't need an adaptation but had no room to improve or add to it in any meaningful way. Zelda isn't a film or animated series, its a game - it s narrative structure is heavily pruned and simplified and iys characters are always going to be less developed than in most films just bc of the constraints of gaming as a medium. So there's more reason and a ton more leeway to adapting it into a film. It's still not necessary to do so, but at least it's got space to be distinct (in the sense that it'll not be a game but a film) without it just being an automatic downgrade. It could still be bad, and animation would be better (though if Studio Ghibli had adapted it, it likely wouldn't be Myazaki doing it and it would have modified the characters a lot like their Tales of Earthsea adaptation) but I do think Wes Ball is one of the more promising aspects of this enterprise
I’m worried it is gonna be a “bro” action movie. More then a fantasy
Ooooo the director of the maze runner movies, I am definitely looking forward to this
Mouse Guard was actually a film that was sadly canceled. The thing listed is actually a demo of vfx work they did for the movie that you can find easily on UA-cam
The movie should pull some inspiration from shanarah chronicles and legend of the seeker those shows always gave me Zelda vibes maybe it’s just me
Let’s be honest though. This being live action is the best option for one of the franchises that Nintendo has. Some of the other ones being in a live action movie would be too horrifying.
Metroid live action movie was the first idea back in the 00s
Best option for mainstream appeal? Yes.
Best option for a quality movie that satisfies fans? No, animation is the way to go, specifically anime or something anime-inspired.
IMO Metroid is the only major Nintendo IP fully suitable for a live-action adaptation. Maaaaaybe F-Zero if they go full camp with it (but that IP has been dead for decades.)
Em... no? Since when has anyone looked at Tingle or Guru-Guru and thought to themselves "Oh yeah, live-action!"
@@Just_a_teddy_bear Yeah, those would look really weird in live action. At least Zelda though a decent amount of characters look humanoid. If they decided to do one where a lot aren’t humans like Kirby it would be awful. So I prefer it to be animated of course but a live action Zelda could work if they leave out things like the Zora. Just saying that could work enough for live action.
This be better as animated
It's not
Yes!
I feel like it would be better if the Zelda movie was animated.
I only have two worry's about this film one they have Tom Holland play Link and two they make Zelda a girl boss jerk like every other female actor in Hollywood.
Well if you had seen the mouse guard short film it gives me hope for the movie
Imagine Link pushing a block around for half the movie
thank you
Zorro’s Domain? El Zorro?!
Z
Since the live action zelda movie will be a live action miyazaki film i wonder if it will also have 2d sequences like the live action dora the explorer movie and in the upcomming live action harold and the purple crayon movie
"It could be done right if done right." Are you serious? lol
I didnt know there was a zelda movie this entire time
finally the zelda movie was completely forgotten and someone finally brought it up
Sony is going to work with Nintendo on the Zelda movie.
And that's really crazy! 😮

I want Link to be british, it would be funny
It suits Hylians
@@Luxembourgish true
I believe. I have full trust😃
They'll find a way to mess it up. Guaranteed.
I'm willing to bet they're gonna make Link talk, too.
If illumination touches this I'm going to vomit. We never needed a zelda movie anyway. Some stories are just meant to be told in games.
I’m 42, I have been playing Zelda since the 80s and I would welcome a live action film. Imagine LOTR style but Zelda. That would be epic.
I Think They Should've Hired Peter Jackson Just Thinking About Orlando Bloom As Link Would Be NIIIIICCCEEEE
And It Can Be Canon To LOTR
Honestly, I prefer the Zelda movie as a live-action movie as someone who loves The Princess Bride and Neverending Story. In fact, I'll give bonus points if fictional creatures were puppets.
Whoever made this needs to research a little more on what Ball means by “live-action” he intends to essentially replicate Avatar, with motion capture technology which enabled normal humans to look like blue aliens in Avatar. It’s technically live action. Whether that means even characters like Link and Zelda receive this treatment, time will tell. They could be overlayed with graphics too.
"Zorro's Domain" haha
"It could be done right... if done right" -Nin10doland 2024
Why do they want it to be live action? Do they REALLY want a repeat of the very first time a live action Nintendo movie was brought to the world?
That was back when movie studios care little about accurately adapting the source material hence why the original Super Mario Bros. came out as a weird blend of Jurassic Park meets Blade Runner meets Mad Max with barely anything taken straight from the games. Now that Hollywood is finally stepping up in terms of properly adapting the source materials of all these game IPs there's very little to fear in terms of the script barely even adapting the most important elements of the Zelda Lore.
honestly that mario movie was pretty badass, and would be a clever way to reimagine zelda...
@@javiervasquez625 >That was back when movie studios care little about accurately adapting the source material
"Back when"? I mean, the Sonic movies have turned out good, but they ain't exactly true to the games, the Mario movie was so generic and not like Mario (outside of the avalanche of references) that it could've been telling literally any story, and we only got Paul WS Anderson's mess of a Monster Hunter movie a handful of years ago.
@@KairuHakubi We don't need Zelda "reimagined" as a generic isekai with a bunch of "Woah dude look it's a thing from the game!" thrown in.
@@ElFreakinCid why would it be that? we're talking about the old mario movie
wait, because of the dimension-hopping? that's literally part of mario lore. it's not in zelda, so that wouldn't be there.
And people, if anything, complained about NOT having things from the game thrown in, for that movie.. because they didn't recognize the more subtle usage and translation of the lore.
Just saying, if you feel like changing the magic to scifi but keeping the same concept, you can do a lot worse.
It will most definitely be a motion capture live action movie
My Wish would be to get a Wind Waker animated film but I'm pretty much in the minority here.
I wanted this to be a Ghibli Film so bad.
A Ghibli Anime Zelda movie would be better
@@Leo-pd4fc I'm glad you agree lol
I don't trust him, I feel very skeptical.. Yet I'm happy for him being able to fulfill his Dreams.. I just hope he doesn't prove me right, and he tries to alter anything. Like.. I agree with you with your ideas, but I can't trust him or be excited unless I see it. Also Link can't speak at all, it's bad enough it's live action..Link CAN'T TALK!
Yes he can. Anyone who still thinks Link is incapable of speech has been paying exactly zero attention.
True, but Links with audible dialog have a bad track record, and it's become tradition that whether or not other characters can hear him talk, we hear little more than expressive yelling.
How are they going to do crossover?
Still wishing for a Ember Labs animated Zelda movie.
i cannot watch this video until u fix ur spelling error
We need the champions In the movie. They are Iconic, enjoyable, and a real treat to see them
TLOZ is my childhood and I’m hoping they don’t screw this up, if they did something like the short film terrible fate that’d be great but live action is gonna be tough
Why do people want an animated movie? A lord of the rings styled one would be way better.
I would love to see that.
An animated film would be able to capture the style of the games almost directly
Take Link’s iconic outfits for instance, how do you translate them to live action without it feeling like cosplay? Should they be translated EXACTLY for the sake of faithfulness to the games, regardless of how goofy they may look on a real person? Or should they change as much of the outfits as they need to make it more gritty and realistic? Something between the two extremes? If so, where?
None of that would be a problem for an animated film. The designs can be translated almost one-for-one without feeling goofy because it’s a cartoon character and not a real person dressed as a cartoon character.
Live action may also be limiting. Sure, if we get a Lord of the Rings budget behind the film, it could work really well, but there are some things that are just gonna COST a lot to do well in live action. Things that could be done much easier in animation.
Like, if you wanna have two normal humans fighting each other in live action, that’s fine. But if you wanna have a real person fighting a monster, or a giant robot, suddenly you need a ton of CGI. Which is not only expensive, but hard to make look GOOD, because the real person is not actually fighting anything. While fights with CGI monsters CAN be done in live action, it does not play to live action strengths, and thus the crew MAY be inclined to do less CGI monsters and more humans vs humans.
Meanwhile in animation, it requires roughly the same amount of time and effort to have two humans fighting as it is does to have a human fighting a monster. Animation is kind of an inherently better medium for realising fantasy worlds in this manner.
All this to say it’s certainly not impossible to for a live action Zelda movie to be good. And I am holding out a lot of hope for this film. But I can see why people wanted it to be animated
Your thumbnail is wrong. Illumination isnt doing the zelda movie
He's clickbaity
The way you talk about CGI and I may have missed this but it sounds like they've definitely stated that they refuse to use practical effects?
I thought it was that they wanted to use practical effects more than cgi
Yoooo ur subbed to corridor crew? Same!
7:15 You Know What? I Like That Design Its Giving D&D Vibes I Think They Should Do Some Inspirations From DND And
Maybe Miyamoto Should Throw In Some References From D&D Like It'd Be So Funny If Link Got Chased By A Mimic 🤣
I finally got past deku tree in occerena of time after years when I got better at gaming now I just gotta figure out how to get In the castle
Talk to the young girl at the that’s at the beginning of the area with the castle in it, talk to her multiple times till she gives you the egg, then wait till dawn for the egg to hatch and use it on the sleeping dude next to the castle
the movie i want it to be isn't live action...
It should be the Animated Zelda movie like The Super Mario Bros 2023 as well
I wish it was animated like the super mario movie from a few years ago

The trailer hasn’t even came out yet and you guys still judging the movie to still be bad. Sure, I can see why people wanted it animated, but this was Nintendo’s decision to be live action because the Zelda franchise as a whole has tons of lore, and it seems Nintendo is trying to redempt themselves again to the entertainment industry. They may be aiming for this movie similar as Marvel and DC type movies. I would agree that what most people say animated is the best option for this in same par as Spider-verse, or the cancelled Batman Beyond animated project, but Nintendo as of now is redempting themselves. Guys, it’s Nintendo! They’re gonna watch over them regardless if the movie is gonna bomb.

It's nice Nintendo's trying cooperstion with Sony making the Live Action Zelda movie, but to be honest like someone here on comments say: Zelda movie has to be the Animated like Ghibli animation what the Fan Made Ghibli Zelda trailer looks like. Still I believe the Live Action will be good defienitily by wrote story, music like The Main Theme and characters got inspired from Twilight Princess my favourite Zelda gsme of All Time, hope to see Link as a Wolf with Midna, some silent guy as Link, because I hope Link can't talk in the Movie like in the Games, I believe Tom Holland can be a slient Link, Anya Taylor-Joy as Zelda, because she was so good Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros 2023 movie and Dwayne The Rock as Ganondorf, just because The Rock is that muscle he can looks just like Ganondorf. These are things what I'll hope to see from The Legend of Zelda Live Action movie (Animated Zelda movie would be nice to see in the Future too.)
