Not only is she top notch in all her vocal styling (growls, cleans, power mix, jazz, reggae) she is, in my opinion, unparalleled in her ability to switch quickly and fluidly between those styles. This is readily apparent in their live videos (which I much prefer to the studio ones). Add in a great stage presence and her abilities as a lyricist... damn. She is the Queen. Here's some trivia for you: she has no vocal training, smokes, drinks, and never warms up.

I saw Jinjer live at Heavy Montreal, started raining when they took the stage. The rain played to their rhythm and when they were told to stop by the promotors the rain stopped. She's not the Queen, she's a fucking Goddess and the sky dances to her call.

ok I'm a little embarrassed to say that this is the first I've heard of Jinjer but this has to be without question the most unique and under appreciated talent I have seen in my entire life.. its not just the fact she has the ability its the fact that she so good at it, she makes it look easy.. absolutely insane...I wish i would have known because it got me a little to amped... thanks so much for that...stunning... omg
Even when you are expecting it, nobody expects Tatiana. :) This is their 3rd lightest song too. :D \m/ \m/ two more to add to your list are Who Is Gonna Be The One which will give you a tast of what Tati can do with her growls (there's more) and then their brand new video Pit Of Consciousness which shows off a more evolved version of those growls. Their rabbit hole is deeeeeeeeep. Lots of interviews on YT and also a really good one with Tatiana in Psychology Today back in 2018 if you really want to dive in haha.
Tati took a few months of singing lessons as a kid but didn't have the discipline to do anything with it. Then a friend introduced her to Otep when she was 15 and she was shocked to find out Otep is a woman and inspired to shock people in turn. Clearly she succeeded haha. She started singing cleans in various metal bands and did that until she was 18 at which point I guess she figured she had enough clean singing foundation to start learning to growl. She practiced growls for 4 years starting with Dig and then Laid to Rest (they used to do a cover of that song when they were starting out - it was never officially released but there are bootlegs of it on YT, the one with the best sound was uploaded in 2012 by NosSam and has the title all in Russian except their name). After that she started adding growls into her performances with the band she sang with before Jinjer. Meanwhile Jinjer was attracting talented folks, but it is hard to make a living as a musician in Ukraine so a lot of folks gave up. Roman had joined as lead guitarist and Maks their singer was getting ready to quit so Roman recruited Tati who had been in a previous band with him. Then Eugene joined as bassist and started doing better management of the business side of running the band. They've gone through more drummers than Spinal Tap but in 2016 Vlad joined on drums to complete their current lineup - Vlad's a classically trained pianist and also plays guitar so he's become a big part of their composition process. They've always had great music though.

This ties in to her depression and anxiety. She knows YT was responsible for their breakout after 10 years of doing dives around EU. Why else do you think these don't get blocked? You can't go wrong with any song from Jinjer. Every time you listen to a new one it turns into your new favorite until you go back and listen to the other ones you listened to, then they are your favorites again. Until you listen to any other song of theirs then obviously that one is your new favorite.

Every member of this band is an exceptional musician. They are from Ukraine and are Roman on guitar, Eugene on bass, Vlad on drums, and Tatiana on vocals. Might try Teacher Teacher, or Perineal live.

For many of us, rock has been dead here in the west for quite some time & it's been saved by five beautifully talented young women from Japan. If you like "hard rock" and are looking for views & subscribers, then this is your band because of the strong & loyal fanbase on UA-cam. There's so much to choose from, but for a first listen I'd try any of the following live performances. Domination, Puzzle, Take Me Higher, Moritorium, Play, Secret My Lips, or Don't You Tell Me. I hope you give them a try.

By the way, the more recent albums have more progressive elements but they still kick. Try the popular live vids they're awesome.

It’s hard to go wrong when exploring Jinjer. But, for my money, Who’s Gonna Be the One (live) ua-cam.com/video/U6rv5qi8-8s/v-deo.html is an exceptional display of Tatiana’s infectious energy, stage presence, and a monstrously low growl at the 4 minute mark. Words of Wisdom from the same show is excellent as well. Perennial live at Wacken is insane too.
Not counting the singer I believe the best in the band is that drummer. Every time I listen to the song that drummer gets my full attention along with the singer.

From what she's said, she writes the lyrics in Russian and then translates them into English and STILL somehow ends up with something pretty poetic.

Vlad is a god of the small kit. Does so much with couple drums he does have.
It's funny because when singing, her English is pretty much impeccable as far as accent/pronounciation goes. In spoken interviews, she has a very heavy slavic accent, like you might expect from someone from Ukraine. Weird...
