Opeth is great, but doesn't even compare to Tatyana. She sounds truly angelic, and growls better than 90% of metal screamers.

@@MrRockNRollLive I know Nightwish pretty well. No I knew Nightwish because I especially know the Tarja Turunen era... I confess that I didn't really listen to them since she quites so... I love Epica too. Listen to "Unleashed" from them. This song is amazing, not the only one of course, but still one of my favourite.

Every song on that album is so good, by the time I got down to Beggar’s Dance I was almost feeling annoyed. Felt like I’d wasted my time listening to lesser bands for the past 10 years

Jinjer is doing a US tour starting in September. You should see if there is a venue near you and get some tickets! Also, that Wall of Death in the mosh pit at the end was EPIC!

Lol nice. I windered if youd find our Ukranian friends palatable. Tatiana is a certified monster. She has a Patsy Cline style strong clean style(like Lizzy Hale and Alissa White Gluz) but her fry vocals are bad ass.

I saw Jinjer in Chicago recently and they opened with Teacher Teacher. Tati absolutely crushed the song live and had the room in the palm of her hand. People that weren't completely prepared for seeing this generational talent were freaking out. If Jinjer isn't really high up in metal festivals in the next few years, then the world has lost all sense of taste.

What's amazing to me is that it's really EVERYTHING. The voice, the entire band, the lyrics, the whole thing. When you look at the whole thing...it's near perfect. The meanings to songs are on each individual to determine for him/herself. But there's no way you can listen to it...read the lyrics...and not have it mean something to you.

Lots of great suggestions for older Jinjer stuff. I will recommend something new with their song "Retrospection" from the new album. It's another great mix of beautiful vocals together with the heavy. It also really feels like Avatar in certain spots, which is a good thing.

Jinjer is quickly becoming one of my new favorite bands. The talent in all of the members is really incredible. I think my favorite from them is "I Speak Astronomy", just because I do like softer moments in my songs as well. I just found this channel and I really enjoy your enthusiasm for metal, so I'll try to stick around.
If you're still taking suggestions, I really like this band that not many people know about called "The Wise Man's Fear". They have two singers, one to do the growling and one to do the singing. I like them because their albums are designed to tell a fantasy-style story start to finish, and I rather enjoy that format, and their mixture of growls and singing. You should watch Yannis Popodopoulus, the male lead singer from Beast In Black, cover Ghost Love Score, just saying. ;) You can't go wrong with Teacher Teacher, Perennial, or Ape from their recent Micro EP. You should check out some concert performances though, like Who Is Gonna Be The One live, Captain Clock at Resurrection Fest, or Words Of Wisdom live. The recent video of Ape from Mystic Festival is great too, but Ape is kinda short so maybe do both studio and concert videos back to back? :D

Some suggestions for some powerful metal ladies:
1) Unleash the Archers - Awakening (Brittney Hayes aka Brittney Slayes is the female re-incarnation of Bruce Dickinson).
2) Arch Enemy - Nemesis Live in Tokyo (Tyrants of the Rising Sun DVD)... Angela Gossow is the fiercest growler you'll ever hear and her stage presence will leave you terrified of her.
3) Eluveitie - Ategnatos or Rebirth. Celtic/Gaulish folk metal with a male growler and clean female vocalist.
4) Heilung | LIFA - Krigsgaldr. Proto-Germanic tribal music. I mean they don't really play heavy guitars, some of their instruments are real animal bones. Don't get more metal than that.
I'm a woman, and I find it ultra sexy when women headbang on stage, so I totally get ya! Also, I'm glad that you could discover such awesome bands and their even more awesome ladies, haha!
