- In this video we are going to change rear wheel speed (ABS) sensor
on 3 series BMW E90 330i (2004-2011). If you have ABS warning light on your dashboard it's most likely bad wheel speed sensor. Before installing new ABS sensor make sure to compare it with old one.

At last - an instructional video that tells me what I want to know without having to listen to someone going through a totally un-rehearsed speech beforehand - many thanks
Thanks for the video! I bought a Bosch sensor for about half of what the BMW OEM costs and worked great.
thanks for posting a video that actually shows how to do what you need to!! hard to find those now a days
Very well illustrated thank you
Both rear wheels have the sensors, they work as part of traction control and ABS, Computer senses a loss of traction through the sensor cable. There is a metal ring that looks like a metal band with little spaces all around it. It is called a reluctor ring. The sensor cable only fixes part of the problem. The rings need to be replaced and are a more difficult job to do. The rings go around the drive shafts under that protective boot. I have the sensors and the rings, I was hoping to just clean the rings somehow. The rings cost me only $24 AUD and the cables were around $34 each.
你好~~請問E90 後輪的ABS 左右兩邊都相同嗎?
@@林小小-i3k The reluctor rings are the same on left and right side. The cables look the same. I ordered left and right side cables. The angle of the cable end may be 45 Degrees different from left to right side. Tha cables are easy to repalce. The new reluctor rings require removal of the drive axle shafts
@@andyroo3022not all of These bmw's work off reductor rings some are done of magnetic bearings
@@ollie-kc6nj Cool, is that the E90 E92s though? I moved mine on, always something else wrong. Nice vehicles when they are running right.
@@andyroo3022 both have it most of them ive seen work like that I had an m57 e92 lovely car when it was working hahha
Brilliant thanks for the tutorial got a front and rear to sort out
Big help. Thanks so much!
Can most mechanics fix this or would I have to go to the dealership to have it replaced?
Can get part number. And share link to purchase this sensor.
How did you clean the hole?
Haha. No, I didn’t replace the windshield because it looked pretty good, but the wipers were broken.
Hi, i have replaced my abs sensors and now the abs light and dsc light is on , do I need to do something after I installed a new abs sensor ?
Please let ABS RING change too
@@morishakoori1940 ? meaning what
@@daylanhunter248 meaning the ABS ring needs changing too!
Notice how the old abs sensor was damaged on the video? The exact same thing will happen to a newly installed one very soon.
The main reason for that is that ABS ring on the driveshaft becomes corroded and bulges out thus damaging the sensor. There is even a chance that a sensor was perfectly fine but the main culprit is with the ring, changing the ring alone often fixes everything. But it's much much more time consuming as the whole driveshaft has to come out
請問 E90 輪速感應器和ABS 感應器 有一樣嗎?
Is there only one abs sensor like this or should I check all 4 tires ?
All 4 tyres have it.
how you'd know behind which wheel
