Oh hey, perfect timing! I had been fully engrained with SLOBS and their bot and alerts for years. Had no idea how shitty they really were until yesterday. So this is perfect as I transition to OBS and StreamElements!

Thank the Gods I started using the original OBS when I started so nothing to switch over.I have to say for anyone nervous about the switch normal OBS is pretty awesome and not hard at all to figure out how to use. I was using chatbot for sounds, so I will have to find a way to switch to another service. Great Video as always love that you help people with getting so many things setup for their streams.

THANK YOU! I had switched over to OBS (as it's not a hardware hog) but my alerts and bot integration still exist on Streamlabs. Leave it to the Stream Prof to immediately provide a thorough guide to transitioning out of Streamlabs.

Just did the switch; already using StreamElements so no problem there. Only issue was resetting levels on the VST audio plugins. Took about an hour all told. Thanks for the good video!

Thanks for the guide. Thanks to this I can finally ditch the parts of Streamlabs I was still using. Wish I knew about the import tool on OBS when I stop using Streamlabs a few year ago, wound up rebuilding from scratch. Looks like free scenes import fine though.

This video was extremely helpful, actually after importing my scenes from SLOBS it copied everything down to my mic settings. It was very convenient If i knew importing was so easy I would have swapped a while ago.

Right after the last video about streamlabs I switched back to obs pretty quick after. I didn't like how they shoved monetization in my face. Honestly going back to OBS Studio is really refreshing. Also even if the options in stream elements are basically the settings in streamlabs, I personally had more fun setting up elements for whatever reason. It might be because the option to change variations is faster to set up for me. One follower update would say "[name] is now following dreams" and then 20% of the time it would be "Hay [name], can you tell me where the bathroom is?". Fun fun stuff.
100% no regret switching to OBS, feels smoother

Brilliant video. I moved to Obs Studios from Streamlabs and what can i say. In Streamlabs i always had Lags Although I had set everything correctly and the hardware was also sufficient for my needs. Now im only a few hours in OBS Studos and don't have any lag XD

I like Nerd Or Die, but if you want to re-use some of the fonts to use in your own branding you have to double check that its ok before you buy. Some Font Makers do not allow you to use specific fonts to make your logo. Nerd Or Die did the right thing. Very satisfied, but double check before you get a DMCA Takedown notice. Double check the fonts, make sure they are free to use before you buy from them. Its not Nerd or Die's fault, but font makers can change specific fonts use whenever they want.

thanks for this. I just wanted those notifications. I didn't have any issues with streamlabs.... other than it just made my streams run and look like trash, even with optimal settings. Using the same exact settings from streamlabs to OBS Studio, one looks decent and the other is a choppy slideshow
It probably helps a lot to have two screens or devices but I've found that a good order to this is getting setup with Streamlabs Desktop and then migrating scenes, settings and all the tuned stuff over to OBS. I don't stream with any of this stuff (yet) but so far it looks excellent for recording. XSplit might be okay too. Twitch Studio is a dog though. Every one of my streams are the IRL/mobile type from the OLD era with Larix, where you pick a camera, set the res, bit rate and audio rate, punch in a URL/key and hit the button. It took until last year for me to hear anything about Streamlabs and OBS because I just haven't been fond of desktop. It's great stuff.

Thank you 🙏 SLOBs are shady. When I was searching for OBS the SLOBS was first when searching, good thing I was savy enough to do more research than just clicking what cones out first. Been using and learning OBS since.

I'm glad I made the switch months ago. And I tried out the source record plug in and it feels complicated to use. Not as easy to set up like it was for Streamlabs where I can just pick what I want to show in the recording as apposed to what is seen on stream.
SLOBS is just a nightmare software to have to use. The acronym is very accurate as a description. It crashes often under stress and doesn't run on Linux. It doesn't even run that well on Mac. I feel bad for streamers that decided to use it and circled their setup around it.
It's actually a good thing that I didn't choose slobs for OBS because I'm mostly looking for the updates on the program and I was too lazy to switch :D

Literally was searching for this guide, and you made the perfect one just today! I'm having an issue though, when I imported my alerts, the text is showing up above the image. Its not lined up properly.

Thank you! Screw Streamlabs. As a content creator having Jerks steal your stuff and call it theirs, is the worst feeling. Finding out these guys have been not only ripping off others and getting away with it for so long is just sad u.u

My greatest issue with streamelements remains that they have no local way to update text sources the way streamlabels does. It makes modular scene design soooooo tough and a deal-breaker for me. Perhaps I should submit it as a feature request or if they have an API, anyone could make a custom solution for it
Like your vids. I'm trying to get my King series premium overlay from own3d to run completely on OBS. Own3d has a widget for cofiguring it on a pc but not on a mac. Sure the reason it's that json code. The overlay is running on both, but all the little widgets have to be done manually on obs. It just takes a while to find all the info. The other thing I trying to do is use my portrait monitor as the default but seems to be not so easy. Any hints would be great.

Thanks for this. I have some work to do. Been having massive issues with camlink pro though. See you're using it. How did you get it to stop overloading the encoder and dropping frames? Nobody at elgato has answers nor online. It's not a gpu issue my gpu uses like 30 percent only. 3060ti and ryzen 9 5900x which also has no issues. Curious if you found something that worked. I switched to individual canlink4k usb captures from frustration.
Thank you for this! I needed to convert cause SLOBS takes up so much CPU processing power that if I open vtube, and elden ring, streamlabs either doesnt open at all, or it just craps itself during set up. I understand that OBS uses the GPU instead? So hopefully this swap will help! Thanks again!!

My only issues with using stream elements with the using the browser source method is that when stream elements goes down your stream don’t work. Mind you it’s only happened once that I know of. But I do love the obs stream elements combo
My question to you and I see this video is not very resent, but I've only just begun to stream live and Obs Studio is the only thing I have some base knowledge in. What I want to know is how or where to I go to learn how to use Obs to great a overlay and have features like alerts in it without going through some 3 party software. I a new streamer getting a leg up would mean not spend a lot to get started but also having something that looks good as well? I do know my way around graphics it just this alert stuff is there a place to get the codes what that which is what I believe would run these widget alerts anyway? Thank you in advance for any help you are able to provide

Thanks for explaining all of this so well! By the looks of it, the transfer extension doesn't allow for Streamlabs Cloud Bot commands to be moved over to Streamelements. Is that correct?

i tried SLOBS but never liked it so switched back to OBS .. a long time ago .. the only thing I use from them is their chat bot, is there an alternative so I can import those settings?
One thing I wish Touch Portal could do is being able to use two devices with their own separate set of buttons. If that is already a feature, I can't seem to take advantage of it (I'm most likely blind). You can use two different devices, but you'll have to switch to the main page first on device #1 and then switch to the desired page you want on device #2. I've seen this on the Elgato Stream Deck when people use more than one of them. I wish Touch Portal could do the same. Still a very good Stream Deck alternative though!

I use the wheel spin from slobs and that is the only thing I use as I have not found one that I can use as a widget and link to my stream deck. Is there another alternative for a wheel spin widget out there that works with obs and stream deck????
would love to try or even switch to stream elements, don't have any idea how to put in all the personalized graphics and alert i made stream labs, trying to learn and replicate what i did with streamlabs on stream elements is just a bit too frustrating for me.

I did the same, but on section where is "new donation" there is no change when somebody new donate to me. It changes on donation goal, but the name and amount of donation are still the same on OBS Studio, but on StreamLabs it was changed to recent new donator. I can't manage to change anything on OBS where is new donation except font. Do any of you guys have fix for this or i need to make whole new overlay for that in OBS?
Erm if you changed the font in OBS then it sounds like you’re still using the same text source for the StreamLabels app, which stream elements obviously isn’t using. You add those labels in the stream elements overlay editor
@@EposVox I didn't change font. I said i have only option to change the font, nothing else in OBS where is "New donation" overlay. I can't refresh it, clear the cash, nothing. When i go into SLOBS there is real new donator, but on OBS it stuck at last one before i imported scenes in OBS from SLOBS.
So again, labels for tips and things are an element you add to your overlay in the StreamElements overlay editor, not in OBS
@@EposVox Yes, i know that, but my question is what i need to do on streamlabs for new donation to appear on OBS? Every other alerts are okay, goal donation, donation ticker, sms donation, but only "New donation" below my webcam are not changing?

Epos I love your videos and how informative they are and I’m a really big fan but I just have a small suggestion for you to improve videos as a viewer. I’d recommend using a bit slower paced music in the background lol. I know some people may like it and it doesn’t really bother me but at times it does just slightly throw me off the pace of the video lol
I started out with OBS last March. I took a week break from streaming, and when I came back, OBS wouldn't go live for me anymore (on fb). I quickly downloaded SLOBS and went live. Even deleting OBS (and files with guidance) and reinstalling, it still wouldn't go live. My next problem is - I just bought the Razer Seiren Emote mic. It will arrive this week. It links to SLOBS and TWITCH. I don't stream on Twitch. If I leave SLOBS, can I do anything with the emotes on this mic at all??
How do i get the stream labels from SE? I use the overlays locally so i want to dynamically fill my support bar, new follow sub etc
i have never used either. But I did hear somewhere that the only downfall for stream elements is that if you are streaming to multiple platforms, then the alerts overlap eachother? I dont know what that means but before I setup eveyrthing wondering if u can stream to multiple platforms at same time with stream elements? Or do u have to use stream labs because of overlapping thing?
