5 improvements from New Balance FuelCell Supercomp Trainer v1 :
Much lighter! 10.9 oz to 9.5 oz
tongue placement is more traditional, easier to get on for me
heel is slightly wider on feet
more traditional ankle collar
Lacing is not curved
Energy arch is slightly more narrow, which increases the fuelcell squishy feel on v2
Things I would change about New Balance FuelCell Supercomp Trainer V2
Add neoprene like tongue for more structure
Add a Pull tab back
Description
The FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2 brings the seconds count performance of energy-return technology from race day to a high milage training shoe. In this execution of new Energy Arc technology, a stacked height midsole houses an arched carbon fiber plate, sandwiched between two layers of FuelCell cushioning, leaving a hollow channel through the middle of the shoe. The plate is flattened into the void with each foot strike, and returns energy as it reshapes, creating a high rebound sense of propulsion. The FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2 is designed to look, feel, and perform differently.

These are incredible! If you want to buy a pair, check the link in the description!
i held off buying them until your review
Good for 3 days in Disneyland?
Do they slip on feet without tongue rolling down? Was hoping you would mention that in ur review. Would like to know b4 buying. Been watching ur reviews for yrs & have bought countless shoes due to your Squish test. PLS bring back durometer readings.
What about xplr boost? How does it compare to xplr boost?
@@lisahughes6313 Hey they do slip on but not as easy as a tongue with more padding, but I can slide them on with no hands haha
Wearing these shoes now while I watch your review. Agree with everything you said. These for me are the perfect do it all shoes. I find the stability much better than you did, but the comfort is 10/10. Like you, I dug all the changes they made from the V1, especially the tongue and heal collar. Most comfortable max cushion shoes for me, and probably the best daily trainers on the market.
So v1 or v2 more comfy?
@@sll0824 v2 dor me. I like heel collar much better as well as the other upper. Just my two cents though. Everyone's feet are different of course
@@sll0824 I take back my comment. After a week of use, there is a very strong pressure on top of the shoe.Tried different lacing techniques but nothing worked. After about 30 minutes the pressure is just very uncomfortable and not enjoyable to wear. The tongue is very thin and it's like the laces dig into the top of my foot. Ordered 2 different pairs and had the same issue (thinking it might be a QC thing). If it wasn't for that it would be a keeper. Unfortunately, back it goes for a refund.
@@joshlevy2593 omg 😱 I got the v1 and I am enjoying it but I think the upper is a bit tight. It’s a running shoes so I get it but I need to loosen up the lace to get the maximum room. The length is ok but the upper is just a bit tight for me
I like the rc elite 2 more because the upper has more room and more stretchy
I liked the V1 so well that I bought 3 pair. I can’t wear them out. The mileage I have racked up on those shoes is incredible.
I wish they didn't spell out "NEW BALANCE" in size 100 font on the inner-sides of the shoe. Detracts from the overall look, despite its feel.
After this review I had to try them. And I can't believe someone uses them as the comfy daily shoes. They propel you forward not only during each step, but also during standing. That is weird feeling like standing in heels. Not very Good for the legs.
Walking is also weird, but also quite fast. These are Just running shoes. I would wear them only for that. Which apparently is good, because fuelcell is light and springy - not made to last. As a daily, Fresh foam 1080 or FF More are much better. They are more plushy and will last longer.
It's lighter, more stable and more softer and bouncier than the V1. Loving it!
As a male nurse who's 6'2, about 265 lbs and walks around off and on for 13 hrs a day, I'm looking for the perfect "walking on clouds" experience due to heel pain. I've tried the SC V1 and V2 this week and for me personally, the V1's feel better. seems like the sole is softer and more bouncy. I've even tried the rebel V3's which uses a similar fuel cell design as the SC V1 and they feel softer and more bouncy to me than the SC V2 as well even though the sole isn't as thick. I ended up sending the V2 back to exchange for another pair of V1's (I want two pairs in different colors).
*Edit
I had to send the V1’s back too. Apparently all that cushion (on both V1 and V2 is a little too unstable for long periods of walking (especially 13 hours at work) and had my ankles and calves feeling over exerted by end of shift. But they’re great for running since you need the cushion due to harder foot strike during runs than when walking. SO… I’ll keep the V1’s for jogging and use something with a little less sole thickness such as the rebels or propels for walking around at work. They’re less expensive so that works out anyway.
The 1080sv12s are pretty good for standing in terms of stack height, but you want a shoe with less heel drop because it forces you on your toes. Probably look at the ghost max or 1080v13 with their 6mm heel drop.
You may need the 990v6. It’s got a beautiful blend of soft and firm that works all day
so which one you get?
@@Jaksoncpp Ended up with the SC1's. But I also grabbed a pair of Nike Invincible 3. I like them even better. Comparable softness with just enough stiffness so it doesn't bother my ankles having too much bouncy feel.
I got’em before you put this out and I was so glad I bought them.
You see them as for daily casual sneaker?
Been waiting for this one! Would love to see a comparison of this one with those new ASICS nimbus 25’s you liked.
Thats a good one, both are so good on feet!
@@heskicksI liked the 25’s but the toe spring is way too much. Is it the same on this?
love this idea!
I bought the supercomp 1s. I couldn’t find the wide version here in the UK, so I sized up. They’re still waaaaay too tight to be comfortable for long hours. They’re amazing for running though. I snagged a pair of the wide more V4s and those are a lot more comfortable for me.
oh man, yeah the wide is what i needed for fuelcell but they are looser with the relaxed tongue
So the More v4 is better when traveling? Like whole day standing and walking
If the slight weight increase is not a problem for you (and more v4 are already quite heavy) go for the trail version. With vibram outsole and toe protect they will last longer and be more useful on the travels
Your review popped up in my feed, so I gave it a look. Although I agree with you about the comfort these shoes may bring, these are NOT made it be worn casually. The have an aggressive rocker, and Carbon fiber plate that is made to propel you, and your foot, forward. It is an amazing under foot experience, if you are running. To stand in these would be a Task, as the shoe would want to rock forward, or possibly, even backwards. It is cool to get caught up in the asthectics of a shoe but these are made in such a way, that I could not imagine some one not moving quickly in them, would enjoy. I have had a pair of these for several weeks, and bought them to Run in. They are Amazing in so many ways but, would find myself feeling a little awkward just walking around in them, casually. If you are looking to just wear these for fashion, you may want to find somewhere to try these on before they end up looking cool in a box in your closet.
Hi
That was a really useful comment.
I tried V1, & I could feel myself propelling forward.
I'm a nurse, where I'm constantly walking, standing.
What do you recommend?
Thanks for that, really helps decide if these are good casual shoes. Seems like they are very aggressive and have only performance in mind, so not quite good for casual wear.
@FL0OD918 Which shoes (from Nike, Adidas, Asics the brand we have here) would you recommend for daily casual wear and also would like them to be for semi to long walks, I've recently bought the Pureboost 22 so even with buying them I'm not sure if I made the right decision on them
@@Lad2023 I’ve been wearing the Nike Invincible 2 for walking when on Holiday. I’ve worn them on 4 trips and walked in them for about 40 days carrying a camera and small backpack. They’re super comfortable as a lifestyle shoe for walking around all day long. Having said that, I ordered a pair of New Balance Supercomp Trainer V2 this week. Haven’t received them yet, but I’m going to compare them to the Nike Invincible 2 and see if they’re better or not.
@@mhsvz6735I'm curious about the comparison as I have the Invincible 2s, (which I've really liked) but need another pair for daily standing and walking.
Got these last week and wore they around the house and returned them. I have flat feet and I could feel that plate.
I LOVE mine. I’m tempted to get another pair instead of the second version. Every time I swap and run more than 8/9km in my Hoka, my knees know next day. SC is so comfy for distance
Been watching your channel for years now, all my comfy slides & lifestyle shoes come from your reviews! I appreciate everytime a new model comes out & I will be copping these new V2’s. Thanks Hes for continuing to review comfy squishy cloud feeling sneakers!! 💪🏼🔥
😮oh dam, I’m buying the V2 now. My Fuelcell are my daily drivers, I literally rock them everyday.
are you running with it or walking/lifestyle?
Since your video I have turned into a new balance fan boy/fanatic from the more v4s and the SCT v1 I just ordered the orange version and white and can't wait to get them
The upper looks so much more big, its crazy its lighter. I like that heel better too
They look great I’d buy them just wish the outsole was a little bit lower not as high of a stack but they look comfy af
Your my go too reviewer on the tube especially for comfort shoes. Just brought a pair with your link. Thank you for the great sneaker reviews.
Thanks for reviewing . Been waiting forever for some one to review THESE KICKS.THANK YOU!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have 3 pair of the v1 looking forward to trying these...v1 was the most comfortable shoe I've ever own
I bought these because of your video and idk if it’s cus of my flat feet/ plantar fasciitis but I don’t feel that 10/10 comfort.
I run in these, interesting to see what casual wearers think on it. Def a great shoe, and the energy return each stride on these makes running smooth as butter
As soon as I saw they lowered the stack height... I went out and bought the 1st version on sale for $119. YES... these are super comfy, but nothing beats the Nike Invincible Run when it comes to Soft Squishy Cloud like on your feet.☁ IMO, Thx Hes!😎
Looks like a super DOPE pair of kicks…I think I’m gonna try them and go for that orange pair
I have these and the A6 gel numbers is 25 and I can comfortably say the gel number 25 is more comfortable
Got the sc trainer 1 some days ago even though the sc2 was available that day. I needed to try the 47 mm stack and loving it in my runs so far.
The v1's are the perfect running shoes for me. Hitting the treadmill 3 days a week for an hour
Hes, your channel is the best. Disappointed in New Balance - they don't go up to size 15 in these!
I hope they come out with some new colors the 3 that are available aren’t very cool
I hope so too, a stone island collab would be so rad
@@heskicks very!! Dude I love your channel and I always get the same kicks after you review them. I love the Supercomps and the spring blue colorway but for comfort I have to go with the gel nimbus 25. IMO the squish combined with the bounce you get in each step is unreal. However the bounce did diminish over time. I’m very excited to try these now!
Dude awesome video , I really am a fan of the crazy Cush shoes , been wearing More V4- ZoomX also, but I’m going to get a pair of these because of this video, I wish they had an all white or more color ways 🤷🏼♂️
they need more coloe options and less logos on them for sure
Love the vids! definitely buying these for everyday use. But question, and you might have already done one of these, but can you do a "Most Comfortable Work Shoe" Video, as most athletic shoes are not able to be used for customer facing service jobs. Mainly do to the Aesthetic/colors of the sport/running shoes.
Cheers brother!
He has done that before, not very helpful. He doesn't understand the specifics needs of those type of things. You are going to need something a bit more firm if you're standing in one spot for long periods of time.
Brooks Glycerin 20 for work
Ordered a pair today. Used your link. Thanks Hes.
For those using at work 10-12h shifts
SuperComp is to flat & hard for foot, is very nice shoe for the first 4 hours tho after the carbon plate is just a killer.
Kind of regretting to getting.
FreshFoam X still the best for comfort
Shouldn’t have got a shoe designed for running for shift work
A shoe I found to be great for long days on feet is the pegasus turbo the new ones, they're not the softest, but the firmer foam doesn't fatigue after that few hour mark you're talking about, I picked them up randomly, didn't care all to much foe them at first, but I found whenever I wore them after a long day my feet wouldn't hurt
Would Nike invincible run be better for work ???
@@YaooosteveIf you find get the invincible run 2 the best for long shifts if you don't find them have a look at the ASICS nimbus 25
They did lower the stack from 47mm in the heel to 40 but change the fuelcell compound to make it lighter and bouncier vs v1. I’m guessing the midsole at the midfoot slightly cups around the foot for some for stability. Also the heel to toe drop in v1 is 6mm offset to 8mm in v2. Could be why it feels more propulsive.
thanks for the feedback! I donno much about the drop
I see you mentioned the nike zoom x invincible...but to the naked eye..these look closer to the Addidas PLRBOOST..which I know your also a fan of. How would u compare the two?
Just bought them.
They look so much better compared to the v1’s.
For casual use.
How are keeping those for casual daily walking?
I agree with you hes supercomp, adidas lightstrike pro with no carbon fibre plate is the dream
For us walkers...cloudy marshmallow pillows is the dream haha
Thank you for the excellent review. Are they too soft that they give you foot fatigue?
I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the v2 this weekend, I love the v1, the gel nimbus 25 is on sale for 75$ cheaper right now and I got a decision to make 😢
They are pretty nice but idk. I feel like I might roll my ankle on these. Need some performance reviews
$179 in the US and $269 (£210.00) in the UK!
Mans my dad
lmfao
And I’m your daddy!!!!
I just picked up the old ones (on sale).
Love them, probably more comfy than my nimbus 25, (although nimbus are a great running shoe and awesome choice as well).
Just ordered these a pair for me and a pair for moms cause there’s a sale right now !
I need this! Great review 🔥
ID on pants please. Thank you!
hey i haven't seen casual reviews on fuell cell propel v4 and i think its a very interesting pair worth a video. its like a budget super comp and i'd love to see a video
Have they added better fuelcell? The first 3 versions didn't feel like regular fuelcell like the rebels, lerato, or sc trainer. I've passed on them many times. Are they using a better mixture of fuelcell? The thing about new balance is they make their foams feel different on different shoes, never consistent across the brand.
cant wait for new balance collab with stone island new sneaker
Curious, these new Version 2's vs the Gel Nimbus 25? 🤔 Comparison video coming soon?
That heel looks like a huge improvement
How would the normal size be for narrow footers?
If I wasn’t broke, I would definitely buy these right now
the v1 is on sale right now
Test for us the Mizuno Wave Sky 7 ! It is starting to pop in some parts of the world.
It competes with the Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 and the Sky 7 has a middlesole height of 33mm/ 41mm !
Was waiting for this one 👍🙏
Hi Hes, been enjoying your review. Is it comfortable as well for a week holiday with alot of walking exploring cities?
Everything was great for me until the upper, I have humongous wide foot and I need that stretched out/stretchable mesh upper and tongue that sturdy one. That's why I still wear old NMD Primeknit. NMD CS1 or CS2 stretches out to be perfect for me for how wide my feet are
Try New Balance 1080 v12 wide or xwide
@@DV1979 already ordered few days ago.
please make a video more v4 vs supercomp trainer v2
The logo SCREAMS!!!! 😂
At first I thought that the design was cool… but when I saw that HUGE brand name printed on the shoe… it really turned me off.
can you try the adios 8 or boston 12?
they have the new lightstrike 2 and the adios 8 has a pretty generous toe box and no carbon plates or rods
Hoping the 1st versions drop even more in price
120$ on running warehouse
I wanna try these so badly - no wide sizes available Australia 🤦♂️🤦♂️ like just doesn’t appear to be sold here ever
Went ahead and did Amazon try-before-you-buy for these, the Fresh Foam X More Trail V3 and the Hierro V7 I'm going to see which one I like the most.
Which one was better?
@@_joshcallueng the Trail V3 by a long shot. It definitely has more cushion, the only downside is they look pretty massive on -foot, even chunkier then Yeezy 700s but man are they comfy. I decided to keep both the Trail V3s and the Hierro V7s though. I would compare the Hierro V7's comfort level to just a tad bit firmer then Nike Infinity React flyknits. I wasn't at all impressed with the SuperComps though, those I returned. IMO so far the best feeling shoe I've tried is the Asics Gel Nimbus 25, I have never felt anything that comfy and cushiony before.
Still waiting for the grey colourway
What’s up man!! I absolutely love your content. Just got my first pair of these, and can’t find too many places to find an answer to my question, so I wanted to ask you. I’m curious how the foam around the rubber on the bottom of the sneaker is holding up!? I’m a bigger guy so I tend to wear shoes down harder than most, but I am curious as to how yours have held up?! Thanks man!!
yo! Mine have held up on but I expect wear and tear over time just because the foam is so soft
Wish they made them in a 15.
Unfortunately there is no size 15. New Balance did get my money though as I’m currently treadmilling in the Fresh Foam MoreV4.
V1 or V2 better !!!??? I think the v1 looks like more stylish with the all grey colour way
Hope you get to review the GoRuck Rough Runners and the Asics Gel-Kayano 30
Ive got the v1 and love them so must grab a pair of these! Curious as to how these feel vs the supercomp elite V3 though?
Best looking nb shoe! Pity they are so unstable looking for the casual user
Hey theFresh Foam X 1080 Unlaced if I go up a half a size or should I stay to my true to size in a standard I have a slightly wide foot, thanks so much
@heskicks would you say they are invincible run 3 and gel nimbus 25 ??
There's a 7mm stack height difference
Rockin Seth’s socks too!
Would you be able to give your recommendations for comfort sneakers that have a flat bottom as opposed to a rocker bottom? I do a lot of standing rather than walking, so I need the front/back stability of a flat bottom shoe, whereas the rocker bottom lacks that heel/toe stability because it's encouraging you to roll onto your toe into the next step (good for walking/running but not standing).
jeez, are you going to get me to buy another pair of sneakers?! was waiting for the wider version, but also, need them to come out with other colorways. dont understand why they are so reluctant to offer more blacked out midsole options.
Great review, how would you compare the v1 vs v2 in terms of sizing?
I find overly soft midsoles like this make my feet, knees and heels hurt when using then as my work shoe to stand and walk in for 10hrs. I think the 990v models and 2002r are perfect for me and others in my same situation. I had the NB Leratos and while super plush they would lead to fatigue 4hrs in especially when the midsole started to wear out.
I just bought the FuelCell propel v4 but now seeing this I might return them and just buy these. But I bought them a half size down normally a 10.5 but got 10 would the these v2 fit the same?
Review the ASICS Kayano 30.
Dude i just started standing on concentrate all day , indores , lost of standardng , walking, lifting , heavy set. What would recommend, Boots Lights, Fuel Cells , or Zoom X? Out of them 3.. or is ther3 anything thing i should be looking into?
Why do so many running shoes just look dorky? Is it just because of the comparison to the hype shoes? Why can’t they make hype shoes as comfortable as max cushion?
I bought them n love them
Hes, do you know why New Balance doesn’t post reviews anymore on their website? I found them very helpful.
You know how I can get pass for me and two daughters to Nike employee store
I have those same PDX airport socks :)
Bros, thx to u ive ordered the hiro7 gtx , the fuelcell not the newer ones, i wanna know which is better ? The nimbus gel 25 or the fuelcell (not the newer ones) i need to know..
Positive Comment!!!
New balance is definitely killing the comfort game but their designs are lacking aesthetically imo….if they made it less loud like the 2015-17 ultra boost or other Nikes I would definitely buy more
What color in these do you like better? White or black?
@heskicks how much so u weight and what is your hight bro bc maybe im just not heavy enough to feel what u feel on these shoes
If I can get Nimbus 25 @$97 shipped? Vs this at $280? Which to choose?
Better den the invincible run 3😮wow
How do these compare to the Nike Invincible 2 /3?
V4 more vs fuel cell which is way better? TIA
How does this compare to the UB Light for walking?
Is it ok for wearing all day
Debating on these or more foam permafrost
Just bought a pair size 14 wide! Thank you for your videos brotha. Hard to find reviews on wide comfy shoes let alone size 14 and up. Keep them coming and what do you think supercomp trainer v2 vs 1080 v2 ?
I have both, and for me no comparison, supercomp v2 is so much better for my foot. Probably will never use the 1080 V2 again
I’m a 14 wide too and I have to say these are incredible. Best shoe I ever put on by a mile. Comfy light breathable and supportive with a nice little bounce. Crazy good. Enjoy it bro!
You guys know any good size 14 wide Nike or Adidas? I notice they don’t have a wide shoe option
@@socialhero13 I have tons of Jordan’s Nikes and Adidas. It’s very rare to even see a wide option and you don’t see it in their top models. None of them fit me well 100% from heal to toe. Like the invincible runs, it’s wide enough in the forefoot but too narrow in the heal arch area. I’m kinda new to New Balance always though they were old man shoes lol. I actually just bought a second pair of the supercomp v2’s, have the orange and now the black are on the way. Having my foot not hang off the midsole or rub at all is a crazy feeling. Plus at a size 14 most shoes are heavy as hell, these supercomps are so light and breathable it’s shocking. I’m kinda done with Nike and Adidas for awhile or until they drop something wildly new technologically. New Balance guy from here on out.
what brand are the socks you were in this video?
