You were one of the reasons I was sold on the isf. I purchased one today
how you like it so far?
probably spent his all Internet money for brand new tires
Just bought mine this weekend!
1500 bucks for new tires. No thanks.
Awesome car! !
I used to watch this video, a couple of Matt Farah's Smoking Tire videos and a few others of the ISF before I owned one. I recently purchased a 2011 ISF two weeks ago. love these damn cars.
What color and how many miles did you pick yours up with?
I have a 08 ISF too.. I absolutely love it. All the speed and lux from a german car, without the expensive repair bills. These cars are very reliable and fun to drive. I have to agree, they are very quiet stock.
Tom. I think you make the most professional videos. You make them look so easy to watch that's why I subscribe to your channel. Keep them coming
Thank you for saying that and I appreciate the support!
I work at a lexus dealership and yesterday I worked on a 2008 isF. The car had 30k miles on it and it still had the original tires from 2008!
Frank De Los Santos great! Lexus is so reliable.
No way
@KAT yep, those tires turn into hockey pucks
If anyone wants to see that IS 430 concept in person it's at the Toyota History Museum in Torrance,CA! Best part is that the museum is free to the public by appointment!
Jdm Staff Great to know! I was wondering where this car ended up, it was very well done.
Wow wow, that's a 2008 car, i thought i was looking at 2013 or higher model, beautiful car man, take care your bby if you still have it...
Keep these videos coming buddy! Love watching them all!
Sam Ritchie Thank you Sam, I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you enjoy them!
First video of yours that I've watched and I loved it! Informative and entertaining! I have a 2007 IS350, which I love, and I'm doing some early research for when I buy myself an F for my 40th next year. Keep up the great work and best wishes for 2015!
Thank you for the kind words and support! Good luck with your search and that sounds like a great 40th b-day present to me! :-D
Subscribed right after seeing this excellent video, both fun and informative.
Love the IS-F, great job on keeping this beauty in mint condition.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words and support and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
One of the LFA photos is from the CBD of Melbourne, Australia. The master technician from my work did the pre-delivery on one ;) love your work Tom! Regards from Australia
Ausblack Ahh, cool! Thank you for the kind words and please tell everyone in Australia that I said hi! :-D
I do not like the current Lexus models. But this one looks just the right combination of subtle and flair. The front grille is so good looking, not like overdone front of the new ones.
Swat Kat they really fucked up in that department for some people. It would be soo much easier to get a current generation ISF but I just hate they way they look up front
One of the best owner videos I've seen. The IS-F is still a relevant, reliable sport sedan all these years later. I always compare this to the Chevy SS
I really liked your video! Just got your self a subscriber! Keep up the great videos man!
Well Tom you did it again, another great video and awesome review.
I swear we have the same car like and style, please keep up the great work.
I always look forward to seeing all you videos its a little treat for me. Thanks again.
timothy liska Thank you Timothy and I appreciate all of your support! I've got some cool stuff in the works for ya!
Awesome video Tom!
I'm so envious, first a GN and now an IS-F.. both my favorite cars!
Marvin Santiago Thank you Marvin, we've got the same taste in cars man!
You made a right choice. This is the most reliable sport car in my opinion. The C63 shifts slowly, and the BMW M3 always has little problem all over the vehicle.
Thanks Junho!
Love the ISF. I'm going to upgrade my is350. thank you for the video so tired of wanting and waiting. going to get this thing this weekend
TOM!!! Another awesome video buddy! Keep up the awesome work man..I love the IS-F
4G63addict Thank you Adam, I appreciate all of the support you've given me over the years my friend!
I came last year from your firebolt turbo Ls tacoma, then now checking out isf reviews I seen you popup like oh hey tom
Great Video. Thanks for actually addressing the fuel consumption. 22 MPG (US) is 26.42 MPG (UK) is 10.69 litres/100KM
Thank you sir, glad you enjoyed it!
@@TomsTurboGarage Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I truly did ! In fact your expertise has convinced me to buy one. I'm in Australia and there are only 8 I can find across the nation. I currently drive an e36 Bimmer with a 24 valve DOHC 6 in it but after watching your video, I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy one now ! :-)
They go for around 30 grand in US Dollars and seem to have less than 60, 000 miles on them, but I live on the far left of Australia and I can only find them on the far right of Australia, so that will involve driving one all the way across Australia... about 2500 miles. Not many police cars out in the middle of the dof australia. Only Kangaroos. :-)
Tom, I can't thank you or praise you enough, sir.
You are a true gentleman.
Thanks so much !!!!
David from Perth, Western Australia.
@@DumbSkippy Well good to meet you David! Thank you for the very kind support all the way from Perth and good luck on your search!

It's time to come back Tom, I miss these old videos
Tom I love your humorous attitude man keep me updated with more cool
informative videos about your toys and wisdom as I subscribe too your channel
Teflondonavelii662 Thanks man! I appreciate the support and I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
Hello Tom, just discovered your channel. First, I really like your enthusiasm....it BRINGS ME BACK TO LIFE ! Yes, as in memories of when I was a little younger and had VISIONS OF MAKING THINGS GO FASTER. You are KEEN in your perspective of THINGS THAT GO FAST and I really like your detailed flow of development of what came before..and also YOUR IDEA OF THINGS AND HOW YOU SEEK TO MAKE THEM EVEN BETTER. And, to top it off you seem very talented and capable in your projects. Thanks for peeling back the curtain on WHAT'S OUT THERE...AND WHAT'S POSSIBLE. Hell, I feel like I'm on the bridge of Star Trek ! Warp Factor 10 Scotty !! Thanks, Man.....now onto finishing this video (couldn't help it...had to stop video and let you know what you stirred up )
Hi there and thank you for taking the time to share all of the kind words and generous support! I'm glad you enjoy the video and thank you for subscribing too!
Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed
Bring back the talon! :) love your channel, it's nice to see someone doing it right and not cutting corners. A+ bud, A+.
Thank you man! You probably know that I sold the Talon awhile back, but I will have an update on the Galant soon!
Great video. Love normal people reviewing cars and also the humor!
Gotta say, love you pointing out the torquing of the drain plug and replacing the gasket, this video should be a requirement for all mechanics to watch (its sad I feel the need to say that). I will have my eyes peeled for you around the K-town, would love to peek at a grand national in person. Nice car, beautiful garage, good technique, great channel, subbed.
Thank you for the very kind words, I appreciate it! I don't get out too much these days, but I hope to get out and about more this spring/summer. See ya!
I just got mines last week love it rare dinosaurs 🤨🤔
Another great video Tom.
Thank you sir!
Tom, thanks for another amusing and interesting video! I'm looking forward to your next one.
Rick Hilton Thank you Rick, I've got some cool stuff in the works for ya!
Can't wait, Tom! Bless you!
That is great city mpg. I have a 2001 IS300 with a Lexus 4.0 v8 swap and I average 11-13 city mpg. I told my wife her RL is on the chopping block, it's time to get an ISF.
Ohh My Funk!!! That’s an Amazing Is F brother 👊 i love how meticulous you upkeep it too!! Salute man 👊
Love your IS-F Tom.....Lexus quality!.
Love the sound, Fast car!
Another great video - Thanks, Tom! I'm a fairly new subscriber and can very much relate to your tastes and humor, though my Mitsu of choice is a heavily modded white 04 Evo RS and my luxury 4-door daily hot rod is a 640 whp CTS-V that I built up in my garage last Spring. Keep up the great videos!
trumpetcarguy Thank you sir and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I love your car choices, two of my favorites for sure! I came very close to getting a CTS-V instead of the IS-F, but at that time (2008) GM was going through all of the bankrupcy hearings, etc. and the future of Cadillac looked real bleak. I'm glad that they pulled through that and I love seeing them doing awesome stuff like the new ATS-V. Can't wait to see the new CTS-V and enjoy your hot rodded V!
Very nice Tom. I had no idea you had that kind of dough... Most people with your kind of money are capable of the one and only thing that makes them their money, not all the mechanical things you are capable of. Very impressive as always.
MetalTeamster Thanks man, I appreciate that. It's been a long road. Having a hobby is good to take your mind of the day to day stuff.
Ive had my 08 ISF for 5 years now bought it used in 2010 which I got at a steal $42k with 19k miles at the time. Its a very good car still solid performer and have received many compliments over the years. Its a great unique car to own because you hardly ever see another on the road. I can hit 150mph quickly before running out of room. Issues Ive had so far I had to change the front headlight on each side, my front fog lights finally have gotten quite faded so I just recently replaced them for brand new ones - a dramatic difference. Also the touch screen on my Navi has stopped working. Radio and climate control work but you have to work with the buttons instead not the touch screen. Want a fast car with style dont buy something new get a used ISF. Also I take the older style ISF over the new GSF thats coming out although its got 467hp
I also have a es300 2000 not a bad car for the year that's why I just picked up another for my daughter never knew much about the Lexus but now that one has 32000 K miles and the other one 250 they still run very well the only problem I see is the screen with the climate control stereo system is messed up a bit but can't complain much
After driven both, gsf is better! Much better chassis.
Thanks for another awesome video!
Lexus makes great cars. This one is has it all.... looks, comfort, performance. My parents have a 2007 .. I think it is an LS460.... it is big. That motor is smooth as silk and it is hard not to hit 100 when you crack it open a tad.
I love your videos man! Your cheesy jokes are right up my alley 🤣 You should do an update video on this...I’m considering getting a used one of these instead of a new STI mainly because of Lexus reliability but would be curious about your experience with it.
You really sold me on the isf
I never thought these looked very good, but it looks like a lot of fun to drive. And that V8 sounds very good with that exhaust on it. And you are right, when that second intake opens up, I can imagine it gets very addictive.
MrGovenator1 Thanks man! To me it looks better in person, but it definitely looks better from behind the wheel! :-D It has some Supra soul baked into it too.
great video Tom!
***** Thank you sir!
I used to own a white Eagle Talon TSi AWD just like that one! Nice garage!
A pleasant surprise to my subscriptions page. New Roadkill and New TTG!
ProductofNZ Good deal man, I love Roadkill too!
That was an amazing video buddy and a very beautiful car! I'm a proud owner of a 2011 Ultra Sonic Blue and I can tell you this, the car is a true monster. I've been eyeballing the new RC F and I'm sure that might be my next move.
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it! Enjoy your IS-F and the RC-F would be a very nice upgrade. I read yesterday that Lexus is bringing a couple new performance models to the Detroit auto show, so we can look forward to that!
Tom's Turbo Garage Visit this website lexusenthusiast.com for daily Lexus news.
I own an 07 ES350, and let me tell you a lot of people under estimate this car it's actually a pretty quick car. It feels good having 4 passengers and still take off on mustangs, G35s/G37, TLs, BMWs. It's currently dropped with black wheels people always think it's an LS or GS. I hope I could get an ISF in the future. For now it's one hell of a car for a 19 year old.
Victor Ventura Nice man! Yes, you can't beat the value on an older Lexus!
Thanks man. We share the dsm bug and isf in common. I have both of them as well. GOOD DAMN TASTE IN CARS if I dont say so myself. Love the commentary as well. God Bless brotha
you just earn new subscribers. good job man
I want to see a dragrace between the Lexus and the Galant :) Looks like they have similar numbers.
Btw I just found your channel two days ago when I was searching for Grand National-vids and found yours. I have already watched like 15-20 videos of yours. Love it.
didde00 Thank you for the kind words and welcome! I was just talking to a buddy about this the other day, the Galant and IS-F would be a very good, close race. The only difference being that the IS-F is pretty much maxed out in its current form and the Galant has lots of room for more boost and aggressive tuning. :-D As they sit it would be a good race. A little tuning and the Galant would leave it in the dust! Haha! Thanks again man!
great video I'm thinking to get a white one as well !!! so excited
Bro...I need to get one of these.will be good looking beside my 2jz Aristo in white pearl too
PLUS I have never had V8!
Real beast and stunning performance. Just LOVE IT❤❤❤💥
Great video. As a Lexus owner myself the ISF is on my radar but I will be looking for later year when they came with a LSD. Great color choice on yours.
Thanks man and good luck with your search!
Great video ! Always liked this IS-F
Thank you sir!
i love my 09 LEXUS ISF its a head turner and a sleeper, some of this youngsters don't realize what a beast it is, until they get left behind, and i have recently installed the BORLA exhaust and wow the way it sounds including my cold air intake, its amazing!
Yeah but todays electric cars that drive all around. Even the mom's with kids in their cars are faster than this. :(
@@HermanWillems but that doesn’t matter. If I wanted a straight fastest drag time car factory I’d buy a Tesla plaid but no I would never. I want that screaming Yamaha V8
@@driveonthestraightpath2138 why not a yamaha V10 Lexus LFA?
@@HermanWillems we were on the topic of V8 so I said that but that Yamaha V10 is my dream car
@@driveonthestraightpath2138 haha sorry. Yes Yamaha makes amazing engines. Its hard to disagree with that. :)
Perfect video. Great comments and all the stuff around.I really wish you to take me for a ride. I had goosebumps during acceleration.
Marek Blanar Thank you Marek! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Tom's Turbo Garage Oh I almost forgot you are great actor. I am watching this video again and again and it's driving me happy :) Could you make more videos with this car ? I am searching videos of this car everyday and this one brought many helpfull informations
Marek Blanar Thank you for the kind words Marek, Some people really hate the "skits" that I put in these videos, but it's just a reflection of my personality and always making sure to not take myself too serious. :-D Thank you for the suggestion and I'll be sure to make more videos about this car in the future. Have a good one!
Not only are you a great mechanic, you are a hilarious entertainer! When you flipped the table i laughed so hard!
Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed that! :-D
Great video and congrats on the car! I've been thinking a lot lately about trading my S2000 for one of these. Very tempting, but I'm a little worried about the long term cost to own, especially since I'm looking at slightly higher mileage IS-F's to fit my budget. The tire shopping skit was awesome, by the way. Lol
wow what a fantastic review of your car! I learned a lot and now I really want one!!! and damn are the 6 piston brakes a standard feature or part of a package?
They are standard on the ISF
First off let me say great video, it's always nice to see a car enthusiast really enjoy his car, and care enough about it to learn how to maintain it. I really like these, my only gripe is the tuning options for it. But, like the M3, you can get into the weeds tuning, and drain your bank account. I think an intake, headers and a free flowing exhaust would make huge gains, for a couple of thousand dollars. Also, I don't think you would hurt the drivability. I am considering this as my next weekend car, you can't really beat the Toyota reliability, I've got a buddy with almost 250k miles on a is300. They really do go forever. Thanks for the information and great video.
Thank you sir, I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it! The M3 of this era is a fantastic car, packing that sweet high-revving v8. Yeah, the lack of tuning options for this car is a bummer, but the mods you mentioned have gotten these cars into the very low 12s/high 11s with a set of drag radials, so not too bad given the investment. It is nice to know that the car will be reliable in the long run, as performance cars are pretty needy to begin with (tires, brakes, premium fuel, etc, etc, etc) :-D Thanks again!
Great video! I learned something and you made it entertaining.
Thanks David!
one of the best channel. I own a miata too but i live in Canada. Wish i can take my miata to your shop for a good engine swap!
Thank you Calvin! Enjoy your Miata!
Was 4:44 serious? Because those cars just had the silver isf engine covers on.
we have the new rc F at work and its a beast
Any issues with the open rear diff? In your opinion are the upgrades to the 2011+ model worth the extra $8-10k above the price of the 08-10? thanks Tom! btw; I currently own a turbo miata and a Mazdaspeed3, I'm considering upgrading from the speed3 to a Is-f. Thank you!
I don't know about the IS F but i have GS and it's a nightmare without proper LSD. TCS is just to slow and to erratic to substitute real limited slip differential.
Great video Tom! This will be my next car later this year without a doubt. Screw all the amg's m's.
Tom that’s a dope video
i watch the is300 v8 project when they first started and i knew this IS-F have somthing to do with that project and you made everything more clear and understand thanks for uploading keep up the good work
Thank you sir, I appreciate that! I'm glad you enjoyed the video too.
Great job with the video
Kubler Ross meets tire shopping; that was well-played. That's an impressive car!
o2boutdoors Haha, thanks man! Yeah I butchered old Kübler-Ross's stages a bit, but this is tire shopping- a completely different level of grief. :-D
@4:49 you show a 2006/2007 Saturn Vue with the IS-F motor in it. Please Please Please tell me where you found this at? I have a 2004 nanny neutered Vue with the 3.5 Honda v6 that is terribly under-utilised. This thing would be a great sleeper if I could lose the speed limiter. Thanks for an excellent channel and good luck with the Miata
Cool vid Buse-man!
Hi Tom,
Do you still have IS-F? How you still loving it?
Great video, I love my 2013 IS-F. Yes, the tires are expensive!!
I would love to see a new generation ISF.
What do you do for work Tom? Do you own a car shop? And do this as a Side hobby? Just curious , either way your videos are awesome bro
Hey Tom, what's the product code for those magnaflow mufflers on the rear end? Sounds great btw!
Are you Gary Busey's son??
"Secret" Son :-)
lol
Can't unsee 😭
Hey Tom...was this video shot post exhaust modification? Just picked up a 2011 isF and agree, its a littttle too quiet. If so, what mod did you do exactly? Just a muffler delete or magnaflow? Thanks.
Robert Maita Hi Robert, in this video I am running the setup at the link below, but with two magna flow mufflers in place as the drone was unbearable with straight pipes. They aren't large mufflers- round in shape but long and skinny. It's been too long and I forget the part number. isf.turbomirage.com/DIY_isf_muffler_delete.html Good luck and have fun!
Great video, in the process of buying one or a 2014 S4.
Nice shirt :) Nice history behind Lexus! Love the engine swaps, had me for a minute and had to rewind Lol!
DetectiveCoating Thank you sir and I'm glad you got a kick out of the shirt, I hoped you would!
Nice review. I heard the suspension is really stiff in the earlier years of ISF. Do you find it stiff? I own an LS, and debating on whether I should buy an ISF or not. Do you recommend it in terms of reliability and fun? Is the power delivery instant?
+AF A Thanks man! It is stiff, but suited to the purpose of the car in my opinion. It's the most reliable performance sedan available.
Your the best Tom!
Bolo Yaj Thanks man, I appreciate that!
I love my ISF too.... It's a beautiful car and it still turns heads no matter what. Sure there's cars out there that are faster, but for a car starting at 416 HP is pretty amazing.
Beautiful car.
Best performance sedan to ever come out of Japan. Very unique car. High performance and reliability is what no other company can combine like Lexus. Great buy and its sure to be a classic later on. You should mod it.. intake.. coilovers.. racing wheels doesn't have to end at factory.
love this car! i didn't know it that you own one! congrats Tom!
Hey Tom, where did you get your factory service manual(s) for your IS-F?
wow i love this car I'm actually financing one now I can't wait
HAHAHAHA amazing video, Tom! thanks for that!
***** You're welcome sir, glad you enjoyed it! :-D
Great review! You said you haul around the kids in the IS-F but does that include car seats by chance? Looking at buying one but pics make the back seat look really small. What's your experience with it? thanks!
+Rex Villa I carted my niece around with a car seat in the back. I opted for the Recaro Performance Booster Car seat. LOL The passenger has a little less room but it's not that bad.
Is the ISF still holding up? I had to give up the IS250 which I loved dearly recently and I'm still wondering if the IS F is worth picking up in a year or two.
its worth it! take it from an ISF owner, i couldn't be happier
Well done
Great video tom! You out did your self again! But i have a question for you i personally drive an 05 Audi a4 with just under 88,000 and im getting ready to do the 90k/100k mile maintenance and was wondering what you would look into replacing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Jack F Thank you Jack, I appreciate that and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Regarding your Audi A4 (great car by the way!) I would check out the service manual and do all of the stuff listed in there. If you haven't owned the car it's whole life and don't have service records, you might want to be sure/check that all of the stuff was done at previous intervals too. I'm not sure if it's the same with Audi, but some manufactures have two levels of maintenance: regular vs. severe use. I usually defer to the severe use knowing how I drive at times. Haha! Good luck and have fun with it!
That you every much tom im waiting for the factory service manual in the mail so i will definitely be refereeing to that and i was also thinking about having my local Audi specialist shop take a look at her I've only owned this car about a month now.
excellent video bud. real entertaining. you're a funny guy lol loved the bee part.
Emin HVAC Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! The hornets around here are no joke. The size doesn't really translate in the video, but it was the biggest one I'd ever seen.
10qts?!....wow, is that typical for a american V8? japanese V8. Great job Tom, I been searching your channel for the IS-F. no wonder I couldn't find it. keep videos coming for all cars no matter how small
Ashy Gee Thank you sir and I appreciate your support! Yes, I've got some old, old IS-F videos on my channel, but am just now getting around to talking about it in one of the "turbo garage" videos. Regarding the oil capacity, from what I've read in the Lexus documentation on this car, it was for handling reasons (keeping oil in the sump) and oil temperature control.
Not sure if you still have the car, but they started cracking 2IS ECUs; the IS220d has been cracked, as far as I understand it, they have IS250 in the works. They all use similar ECUs, so it's probably just a matter of time when they crack the ISF too.
What do you mean by cracked?
Love your video!!What is that speed test app you used??
Loved the video as always Tom! I've seen you use a vbox before I think. what app is that you were using and how accurate is it?
Jacob Britt Thank you Jacob! The app is the native VBOX Sport performance test app. They also have a lap timer app that works with the VBOX sport. It is an extremely accurate combo due to the strong GPS antenna and other tech inside. The full specs and accuracy data can be found here. www.vboxmotorsport.co.uk/index.php/us/products/performance-meters/vbox-sport
Thanks Tom! I just wish they supported android, seems like they're killing off a lot of business being that it only supports apple products.
Jacob Britt No problem man! I agree. That said, the Vbox sport unit is designed to drastically improve the accuracy of the Harry's Lap Timer app on the Google Play store, which is an awesome tool from what I've heard. You probably know this too, but the Vbox is actually a stand alone device that collects data to an SD card. However, I never use it that way. I find the visual interface necessary. Here's a link to the Harry's Lap Timer app: www.gps-laptimer.de/Home.html
