So many haters...My only complaint with Lexus is I hate that Lexus puts the F badge on everything they sell. As a 2012 ISF owner I will tell you this car is no joke; solid ride. I drove the M3 (best driver) and the C63(most powerful) and this was a good in between and is definitely the most reliable.
Me either. I wonder what an RCF track time would be vs one of the newer ISF.... I know the RCF is quicker in a straight but is it quicker on a track due to the weight.
Okay he isn't Brian Cooley, not as good as him but give credit where it is due, his reviews are getting better and better. This in particular is very good, really enjoyed it. The people complaining about him need to stop with the petulant behaviour and enjoy a brilliant review. Everyone starts at some point, he is taking the same steps as Cooley did
Jesus Christ this car is 8 years old, and it shows. Interior has plenty of cheap plastics (lower door trim, roof controls, ac vents), doors are light, and don't close with any quality sound, door handles feel cheap, battery isn't covered for cold weather. I like the center console, I think the wood piece is a quality piece. I wish they competed on pricing parity with the Germans, but they don't, and there's a price to pay.
Did you not hear him say that they get 8 speeds out of that "old" gearbox when other cars with newer gear boxes only get 7? I'll take that kind of "old" anytime. BTW, why the hell would you even worry about that when you're dealing with a performance machine anyways? Those are ticky tack meaningless details you're worrying about. Men worry about the performance and looks - like we do when we look at women...women worry about little details.
l'll be happy to have an IS F. Now is a good time to get one to since they're not made anymore. Same goes with the EVO since they're no longer going to be made and I hear that Mitsubishi is going bankrupt too??
The Lexus is more reliable and a few guys have told me that Lexus also made some fixes for the 2011 model and newer models to make the ISF as fast as the M3 is so I would personally choose the Lexus. Equal in looks, equal in performance, Lexus wins in reliability. Why would you get the M3 then?
Unexpected beast of a car. This car is the last of dying breed better grab one while you can. Def would take this over a M3 and C63 Last time I checked the side vents were actually real not fake. Very good review but left out a lot about the car. Never once talked about its handling.... Or the changes Lexus did to it on compared to the older model years to 2008
This host is doing a great job if you consider his age. I mean reviewing products requires a lot of experience and knowledge because you are basically comparing the product to the world you know. Cooley's review is more interesting because he has a larger experience background.
Not necessarily. There are a lot of young reviewers out there that are doing well. Its all about doing your research and putting the time and effort in figuring out what the product is all about. One thing reviewer fail to understand about lexus enthusiast, is we love lexus because of its reliability. Reliability is important because it tells us how long we can enjoy our cars. I know some benz that starts having problems around 70k km and its only 3 years old. Like seriously people who will actually fork over such a huge amount, to enjoy it for only 3 years? When a car is reliable, you feel that love and care was put into and none of the bs u get from german cars.
Ok, this guy did fine. I thought the video could of been a little longer but Cooley or him CNET needs to spend some time showing the "performance" of these cars and a little less on "checking the tech". Otherwise, he did fine and I like how he described the car to be part sports sedan and part Japanese muscle which is the description I needed to hear. He made some good points here but the video just needed to be longer and he just isn't dressed quite as nice as Cooley dresses but a dress shirt doesn't help to describe the car does it?
love my isf. btw on road trips i get 27 mpg in granny mode lol havent had a reason to trade up no time soon dont see em every day. road to track it does it all and to add makes better number then the new rcf that replaced it im not lying google lol
Lex Buren I would think that if you look after it (fluids looked after), its going to look after you for a long time provided you don't abuse the hell out of it. Still running a second hand, 17 year old is300 over here (no money for ISF unfortunately). Engine is fine.
if it is a 14 then its from the very beginning of 2014 but they changed em up and i know cus i work at a lexus dealership so i see all the cars as they come in
I owned a 2012 isf, love the car and v8 but it wasn't tuner friendly and the tech inside is dated. I loved it cause the rarity on the road was nice but I had to move on to Audi
Ah hell Na lol. That isf was nice but was not the shit. V8 was nice but that's it. Car was old, inside felt like base model still. yes maybe rare but didn't have enough to satisfy. Now I'm in a 2015 s6 with a stage 2. In the 11s with a few grand. The isf couldn't be modded except bolt ons. Ecu was locked and the modded world couldn't do much.
It's funny how everyone disses Lexus's remote touch. It is a simple controller, a mouse with four total push buttons. Look at BMW and Audi's MMI, they are far more complex, and have many more buttons.
The last Lexus IS-F was a 2014 model year and at the same time Lexus roll out the new or 3rd generation Lexus IS250/350 series. Where they were getting Lexus LFA digital gauges in their sportier trim but the 2014 Lexus IS-F didn't get it. Which was kind of lame on Lexus part. I wish Lexus would have send the last Lexus IS-F model year away with a digital gauges.
Once again you have these suppose it car enthusiast reporters on these video magazines giving mis information when he quotes $67,000 price tag for fully loaded ISF compared to $10,000 or more for similarly equipped M3 or C63. Yes base price is higher on ISF but there fully equipped where as M3 and C63 both have lower base prices but quickly go up in price once you start adding even the most basic items.
Not much on the driving impressions here. I LOVE LEXUS they make actual reliable luxury cars unlike the Germans that are sooo unreliable. I'll put my money on a lex anyday before any german car.
The vertical slot behind the front wheel opening are brake ducts? Really? The opening next to the front fog lights are brake ducts. The slot behind the front wheels could help extract air from the front wheels. But doesn't function as brake ducts in the traditional sense. CNET should really stick to the infotament aspect of the car and leave the rest to the pros.
Xavier Mangubat plus the maintenance costs are more reasonable. Replacement parts are cheaper. Plus the resale value after the initial dip is way stronger than any german sport sedan. Maybe audi is comparable but it has its high costs. In my town the lexus dealership has service rates lower than the toyota dealership is many cases.
Stop acting like idiots - this guy is almost just as good as Cooley. And I'm so sad to see the ISF go, but definitely looking forward to the new beast that is going to be unleashed on everyone this year. Prepare to be unseated mercedes and BMW :-)
too much accent and twisted tongue in the review. I gotta say he is getting more confident in talking now. An improvement nonetheless, but if he wanna get far, he's gotta learn how to tone down the twist and accent
Lexus should really separate the “F” models and the “F-sport” Model I hate when a Person with a “F-sport claims is and “F” but doesn’t realize that it’s just a V6 .
I gotta admit, I too prefer Brian. When it comes to customer electronics and even Car Tech Live, I enjoyed Antuan and Wayne's presence. However, with car review videos, Brian's reviews are accurate, witty, and seem organic; and I think that's what people are picking up on. For what CNET is, I hold Brian's reviews up there with those of other car specific channels (/DRIVE, C&D, EVO, etc.) Antuan's not a bad guy, but if he's going to continue with these reviews, he has to get better. And he needs to be aware of why some are unsatisfied.
So many haters...My only complaint with Lexus is I hate that Lexus puts the F badge on everything they sell.
As a 2012 ISF owner I will tell you this car is no joke; solid ride. I drove the M3 (best driver) and the C63(most powerful) and this was a good in between and is definitely the most reliable.
as a isf owner I concur. I actually don't even like the rcfs
Me either. I wonder what an RCF track time would be vs one of the newer ISF.... I know the RCF is quicker in a straight but is it quicker on a track due to the weight.
BMW puts M package on lesser cars and MB sticks AMG on lesser cars now too.
eco8gator you ain't lying bro but isf just has isf on them all the others have 250 or 350 F. Avoid those if you want the real deal
eco8gator Wish I had the money to own one. Maybe one day...
This car is such a keeper.
Not gonna lie this was a pretty damn good review.
Hey Buddy your reviews are getting better keep up the good work!
2019, I still love this car, currently drive a Kia Stinger GT1 and Dodge Challenger Hellcat
Getting better!
Okay he isn't Brian Cooley, not as good as him but give credit where it is due, his reviews are getting better and better. This in particular is very good, really enjoyed it. I love this Lexus. And great review.
Shame it's the last we'll see of the ISFs - I love how much of a beast it is, but on the surface looks like a normal sports sedan!
Andy Lee We are going to get the GS F though :D, with an updated Tachometer from the LFA. So that should be interesting.
Mathews John I've been looking at pictures of it everyday for the past 3 days. It's growing in me, the GS F
COOLEY SHOULDA DONE THIS ONE!!! I love this car id still buy one
Must say... One of this kid's better reviews. He's getting better. B Cooley is the standard, but the laid back look works for this guy.
Solid review
He would go for the push to start
Ah man. It's this guy. Doubt I'll complete the video. Wheeeeeere is Cooley?
Jesus Christ this car is 8 years old, and it shows. Let your haters be your motivators. Great review! Can't wait to see more!
I don't mind Antuan or someone else reviewing cars as long as Cooley also reviews the cars. Deal CNET?
Unexpected beast of a car. This car is the last of dying breed better grab one while you can. Def would take this over a M3 and C63
Last time I checked the side vents were actually real not fake. Very good review but left out a lot about the car. Never once talked about its handling.... Or the changes Lexus did to it on compared to the older model years to 2008
A Japanese car having a V8 in this day and age? Shocking!
The ISF is one of a kind which makes it really special. The only car with balls enough from Japan to fight the Germans.
Love the wheels

I'm not sure those side vents are for looks only. I know on the new RC F the side vents are actually funtional. What say you peeps?

love my isf. btw on road trips i get 27 mpg in granny mode lol havent had a reason to trade up no time soon dont see em every day. road to track it does it all and to add makes better number then the new rcf that replaced it im not lying google lol
How many miles does your isf have?
Dude, where is Brian?
+Blake-Technology! I'm only watching for him
WE WANT COOLEY!!!!
i would get the is350 just cause of the new box
Nice review, imo.
i kinda agree with you with the screen! But they certainly need to improve it ;)
i was like why the dislikes, then I realize there was no cooley
Good job your much better now. But try to make more jokes like Cooley
Cooley only please, for car reviews, as well as top 5 and so on.
Cooley's son? Leave it to your old man JUNIOR!
My boy is trying...Keep working hard...
i drove this car the first year it came out (2008?) and i didn't know what i had. i do remember the induction noise though. mmmmm.
that engine has so much hoses it scares me
if something goes wrong with that engine, youre screwed
Lex Buren I would think that if you look after it (fluids looked after), its going to look after you for a long time provided you don't abuse the hell out of it. Still running a second hand, 17 year old is300 over here (no money for ISF unfortunately). Engine is fine.
The F not F Sport Tech guys’d @1:17
Lol the fender vents are actually functional and not fake or cosmetic. It allows air trapped in the fender to escape increasing aerodynamics.
Just got a silver 08 :)
I'm keeping mines
Want. Want. Want. Want. Want.
this is a dope car but its actually a 2012. the 2013's and up look alot different especially on the front end
KrookedWorldTV Disagree, the 2012's don't have the 'F' logo on the headrest, that is a 2014 addition.
if it is a 14 then its from the very beginning of 2014 but they changed em up and i know cus i work at a lexus dealership so i see all the cars as they come in
No I think it is a 2014... 2014 models have the F logo on the headrests and a carbon fiber trunk spoiler
you THINK but i KNOW that its not because these cars are in front of my face every day!
Is the ISF reliable like the other Lexus model?
Yes
I owned a 2012 isf, love the car and v8 but it wasn't tuner friendly and the tech inside is dated. I loved it cause the rarity on the road was nice but I had to move on to Audi
John Ryder I moved to an audi s6.
Nah. My not kinda car. I need a low key but quick and for myfamily. The interior in an audi is straight legit. My gtr is the go getter
Right. Hope you get yours soon.
Bruh, good luck with repair bills. A Audi is nothing more than a VW.
Stop hating dam!!. Nice review keep it up
F-off to the people who gave thumbs down just because he's black. I'm not black but this is a Good review. Thanks!!
It's funny how everyone disses Lexus's remote touch. It is a simple controller, a mouse with four total push buttons. Look at BMW and Audi's MMI, they are far more complex, and have many more buttons.
The Lexith I essss eth
LEXUS BEST LUXURY BRAND
cnet needs to make more reviews they are really slow.
'anywhere away from a track' except in germany
The Lexus isF is so appealing 😍
I never knew there is a IS F model 2014... Are you serious? As i remember this body shape was last for model 2012
The only thing I like about this car is the back exhaust.
Mark Ma Hmmmmmmmmmm ok. Keep driving your Honda.
I rather get the m4 any day
Buts the m4 is fun to drive and worth it
he is losing the lisp.... good job mr notcooley
Where's Cooley?
Who is this joker?
No Cooley No Watch
You're not Brian...
Put that V8 in the Venza please.
Italian Chopper Venza production ends this fall.
2014 ??

No Brian no watch
1:50 Perhaps you've never been in Texas.
They're not reading your comment
The dislike ratio should tell you that viewers want more Cooley and less Goodwin
Bring back Cooley!!!!!!!!!!
Better gas mileage than my dodge journey lol
ummmm where is mr cooley?
is this mike tyson son?
Why buy the ISF when you can get the C63 AMG or M3?
Because they're more expensive when similarly-equipped.
Is there right hand drives??
Average 10 mpg holy shit
It's not cause he's black it's cause he's not Brian Cooley ! We want Cooley dammit lol
Leth thee wahth under tha hood lool
Stop acting like idiots - this guy is almost just as good as Cooley. And I'm so sad to see the ISF go, but definitely looking forward to the new beast that is going to be unleashed on everyone this year. Prepare to be unseated mercedes and BMW :-)
Compare it to C63 AMG and BM... Or just don't..
gearboxthhhhh
too much accent and twisted tongue in the review. I gotta say he is getting more confident in talking now. An improvement nonetheless, but if he wanna get far, he's gotta learn how to tone down the twist and accent
this guy really work on his lisp and presentation. nice
Lexus should really separate the “F” models and the “F-sport” Model I hate when a Person with a “F-sport claims is and “F” but doesn’t realize that it’s just a V6 .
Godzilla skin. LOL.
It's not a 2014 ! WTF
Like if u think cnet shouldnt allow anyone to do car reviews except for Brian Cooley!!!!!
10MPG >.> screw that i rather buy a proper sports car ;'D
***** even with the factory state MPG, it's still horrible for v8 sedan >.> thats scrapping super car territory.
Averaging 10mpg wtf??? Thats awful
Cooley can't review all the cars in the world. He needs help. Get over it people
Eh? The Germans have been using 8 speeds for the past two years in nearly ALL their models.
lexus been putting 8 speeds since 2007
John Smith I stand corrected.
LEXUS ISF 👍😊
His lisp is killing me. I’m sorry I just can’t help but laugh.
This guy is sad
Hater
Yup guy sucks
👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍👍👍👍👍
I knew from the hat, that this was going to be a complete mess. So many things wrong.
stop bashing the guy. jesus, whats wrong with you people? car looks nice but the mpg is horrible. i would rather buy a tesla
Stop telling us what to do! Jesus, what's wrong with you?
Michael Leibowitz
Shut up.
chigasaki06
Why don't you go tell your mom to shut up?
I gotta admit, I too prefer Brian. When it comes to customer electronics and even Car Tech Live, I enjoyed Antuan and Wayne's presence. the only lexus id buy. the rest are too damn ugly with that huge spindle grille.
Not this MF!!!!
