    Just bought a 2010 ISF two days ago due to the first video you had with Tavarish. I realized I didn’t need a low mileage ISF, especially since I commute 80 miles a day normally, so that helped. Decided to pick mine up with 198k miles and never been happier! Needs a little love, but all the critical components are sound, very loud and glorious sound. Thanks!!!

    • @mannylupercio8194
      @mannylupercio8194 2 роки тому +2

      @@pearldrums92I ended up getting rid of it but the owner that has it lives in Iowa and commutes with it, up to about 235k miles now. A few things.. the rear bumper cover clips love to break, so it's barely noticeable but the bumpers don't always line up. Valley plates are notorious for failing but those issues are usually resolved early on. Natural wear and tear - bushings fail by that time, so if it wasn't maintained regularly, look at that. Interior likes to melt, so sometimes the dash and doors look like crap if they're not changed out. OEM suspension feels like a race car, so you usually have to change those out if you plan to daily in comfort. Honestly, overall.. they're great cars to have so long as they're taken care of, even higher miles.

    Hey Jared, so the dust shield is a one time use part. It's far easier to go ahead and just break it out of there and then install a new one. The easiest way to install a new one is to heat the new shield with a map gas torch until it is bright red hot and then just slide it in there. Though, this does require the sensor to be removed, which it looks like you managed it all anyways.

      @@Krzysztof_88 you do know that the isf was specifically made to beat the m3? Right? It's a good car, but you can easily always mod and tune the engine to beat modern BMW

      Both are excellent cars and I have great respect for both engineers at Lexus F and BMW M. Both managed to deliver exciting small front engine rear drive 4 door sedans with high revving naturally aspirated v8. The Lexus was developed under a smaller budget than the bmw and I think it was more of a skunk works project. They didn't have as much leway to modify the body in white. Thus they spent most of their time on a then revolutionary 8 speed automatic and the bulletproof 5.0 v8. The Lexus is more reliable and the ultimate daily. But the bmw is the better drivers car. When best motoring test driver Hattori drove them head to head the bmw was the clear better driving car. He states his impressions around the 12 minute mark. He gives praise to the m3s turn in response , rear stability and overall chassis refinement. For the Lexus in contrast, he praised the electronic aids. Later on in the race, the m3 passes the isf around the outside of the second to the last corner at Tsukaba. ua-cam.com/video/FFRuNajUC_4/v-deo.html

    Best thing you can do for an engine is occasional spirited driving to heat the engine up. Heat is what burns off moisture in the oil, which then steam-cleans the internals.

    Nice ride ! Now Jared make yourself a favor and get yourself a Limited slip Diff from a 2010+ Or an aftermarket one. I noticed the wheel turning the opposite direction when you changed the RR wheel bearing. How could Toyota sell those with an open diff in 08-10 is unbelievable. Diff swap = LIFE , especially if you drive hard. Better traction, much better car control and you can brake way deeper with a 1.5way clutch-type lsd.

    You NEVER want to just adjust the length of the control arm by eye. If you are going to do it, do it while it's on a wheel alignment machne so you can get perfectly even camber and toe settings. You'll never have it even by eye. Even 0.5 of a degree will mean the difference on the track.
    I'm a wheel aligner and tyre fitter of 12 years.
