No one plays Kinderszenen like her (actually, no one plays Schumann as well as she does), but I have to say this rendition is the most absolutely beautiful and moving of all (including hers), in my opinion.
but Brahms didn't have her,,, :) that is corect, I so admire Clara for staying true to her husband, how sad it is to think of her loneliness from Robert when he was away at his facility where he spent his last days. Just so sad about Robert, but God gave us all the gift of music, and He certainly was generous with Robert.
Schumman did have many children around (his own) when he composed this piece, and you can tell these are such story telling as much as an instrumental piece can say anything at all...Just love them.
Come on Jonathan! More beautiful colorful piano sound than Horowitz and Argerich=Wilhelm Kempff Emil Gilels Artur Rubinstein Radu Lupu Vladimir Ashkenazy! More Powerful Louder than Argerich and Horowitz=Mikhail Pletnev Supernova Explosion Power!( Prokofiev piano concerto no 1 by Pletnev!) The Second Loudest pianist was Lazar Berman! More Genius than Argerich and Horowitz=Sviatoslav Richter Solomon Cutner Grigory Sokolov Maurizio Pollini Alexei Lubimov Stanislav Igolinsky!
Come on Jackson! More beautiful colorful piano sound than Argerich=Wilhelm Kempff Emil Gilels Artur Rubinstein Radu Lupu Vladimir Ashkenazy! More Powerful Louder than Argerich=Mikhail Pletnev Supernova Explosion Power!( Prokofiev piano concerto no 1 by Pletnev!) The Second Loudest was Lazar Berman! More Genius than Argerich=Sviatoslav Richter Solomon Cutner Grigory Sokolov Maurizio Pollini Alexei Lubimov Stanislav Igolinsky!
Schumann- piano, orchestral or vocal- demands performers with plenty of technique to make sense of the tempo, rhythmic and melodic changes. And when it comes to structure of any of his major compositions, it crumbles without the former qualities.
Argerich always plays with impetuosity due to her personality. I could never imagine that she could play the beginning in such a delicate and warm way.
this music just makes me cry now, for the time that has passed and I can´t play anymore...but I did play this whole album and this is such delicate and at the same time laborious work; a masterpiece of simplicity and beauty...and Martha remains, thank God!
Marta Argerich her mothers name was Bronfman. These Bronfman`s were from Odessa i believe. How is it possible that the all the major stars comes out from Odessa(Ukrainian town 300000 population) like E.Gilels S.Richter David Oistrakh. What is wrong the rest of the world 7 billion people. Why they can not play like these. My home town Oulu is the friendship town of Odessa. But we have the best skaters like the hockey player Reijo Ruotsalainen and the fig.skater SusannaPöykiö she skated like a butterfly
d2d4e6 The Bronfman’s came from Ucrania during the late1800 firsts 1900 and they were the So named Gauchos Judios from Argentina. Martha received a grant from the Jewish Community of Argentina last years.
I find these personally to somehow transfer scenes of childhood of old Germany, not of my own childhood, it's hard to believe Schumann's music could be so incredibly specific in that way but these wordless sounds manage to do such a thing in a very clear manner.
BEAUTIFUL VERSION AND INTERPRETATION OF THIS PIECE BY AGERICH, TRULY CONVEY THE MUSIC OF THE COMPOSER TO THE LISTENER.IT sOUND SIMPLE YET SO MUSICAL.I LOVE LISTENING TO THESE PIECES IT IS RELAXING.
I don’t know why many “experts” try to turn it as a difficult thing. For me, Schumann’s Kinderszenen is about innocence. And maybe it’s very hard for some people to understand it... I think Martha Argerich can take it.
In those days they had MAYPOLES .. even toys resembled maypoles .. this to me sounds just like children playing on a Maypole. Think about it. Guess today it would be called a carousel ???
I've read that Schumann intended to write notebook of "easy" pieces for young people to learn. In the process he created a bridge for all of us to return and reflect on our own childhoods. So beautifully played here by Martha Argerich.
I heard her do the first one after a (magnificently performed) prokofiev piano concerto as an encore. And she did it loud and rushed it like she had to do it. It's so nice to hear it here where she really cares about it.

Wait. Is she holding a cigarette?

For me Martha plays this wonderful music with so much feeling, tenderness, understanding and love
She merges with Schumann's "soul" in this music. What a privilege to hear it
She really opened my eyes to Schumann.
Feeling her heart in every note.
She plays with a delicate tenderness and sublime beauty. This is making music - to go inside the mind of the composer.
Heather Batey Studio I cannot agree with you more
Martha you have touched the Robert Schumann's Soul,
Congrats, amazingly beautiful
Schumann and Argerich, always such a happy combination.. Enchanting!

Wouldn't Schumann have loved hearing her performance of Kinderszenen !
So bright, light, and with such wondrous feeling and emotion. Brilliant and masterful artistry!!!!!
Martha Argerich and Schuman what a pair!!! No disrespect to Clara though :)
that's funny (: lol
She had Brahms though.
But Brahms didn't have her... :(

She owns time and mood...simply incredible!
This really takes me back to my childhood in a very nostalgic way
+Aron Tesfay me too !3rd grade in Comly school ! Marvelous Martha , brilliant and tender Schumann
That's what it's supposed to do
Brilliant! How does anybody get such a bell-like tone out of a piano?
Well, it has to be there in the first place. Many pianos simply don't have it.
I'm a violist, not a pianist, but I've seen her do a very fast up and down thing with the right pedal.
i love martha , she channels the musical soul of every composer >
Frank So do I I challenge you to a duel at sun rise by the apple tree, For her affection.
Now you do know i am joking.
The most peaceful version ever.
Played so lovingly. Wonderful performance!
Schumman did have many children around (his own) when he composed this piece, and you can tell these are such story telling as much as an instrumental piece can say anything at all...Just love them.
Schumann and Clara were not married yet when he wrote these pieces, they did not have children yet, but inspiration was at its top!
just wondeerful. I feel deep connection with the music. I love schumann and martha.
This piece of music really makes me imagine the scenes from childhood.
a very privilged childhood...
10:11 Fast zu ernst. The best I have heard.
Schöne Lieder sind das. Einfach nur fantastisch.
Sweet sweet Schumann and Argerich !
She had the touch. She and Horowitz. Sublime.

Martha, no importa cuantos años tengas, siempre eres hermosa y elegante!
Every time you listen to this, you discover something new.
That's when you know it's true art. The gift that keeps on giving.
Her phrasing is to die for
Max Lima you’re pianist also?
Best version of all i´ve heard... just.... beautiful.. and amazing..
delicate and warm melodic beauty. ❤
Von fremden Ländern und Menschen and Träumerei are sublime.
My piano teacher wants me to play Kinderszenen as well as this.... There's gonna be a mad piano teacher next week. Too good
Very difficult pieces. They may sound easy, but they are not child's play!
Always ..the best performing

Martha is cool
so beautiful!
Une grande sensibilité peu égalée.Merveilleuse Martha!

Martha Argerich es definitivamente mi amor imposible.

About 6:00 for the classic Kinderszenen
Argerich always plays with impetuosity due to her personality. I could never imagine that she could play the beginning in such a delicate and warm way.

Maravillosa música!! Descubrí algo nuevo!! excelente interpretación de Martha Argerich, gracias
Beautiful playing and thank you...Jack Baker NYC
Her "Reverie" is perfect.
For real
Love from first hearing, great pianist.
Like her version of Chopin´s preludes the essence of the music is evanescent but beautifully inmaculate(.The photo very, very nice! )

the slow pieces are played just perfect (and i mean PERFECT), although i dont understand for now interpretation of few fast pieces.
Marvelous

Anyone who says Argerich plays without feeling should listen to this!
Good performance, but I prefer Horowitz. I think he also respects more what the pieces are about.
To this music
I heard her do the first one after a (magnificently performed) prokofiev piano concerto as an encore. And she did it loud and rushed it like she had to do it. It's so nice to hear it here where she really cares about it.
Bravo!
