My favourite Schumann work!!
So great to see Lyda in this, and what a performance!
GRANDE SCHUMANN Y GRANDE ARGERICH Y MAESTROS QUE COMPONEN EL QUINTETO ! ! GRACIAS POR SUBIRLA SALUDOS DESDE LANÙS, BUENOS AIRES ARGENTINA
Amazing!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾beautiful music
I can clearly remember where I was in 1971 when I first heard this piece early one evening on BBC Radio 3. It was an unforgettable experience.
Argerich is undoubtably one of the very best Schumann interpreters
Being interested in Astrology I found Martha Argerich was born with Jupiter sextile Pluto and Robert Schumann was also born with Jupiter sextile Pluto and both were born in the star sign of Gemini
No wonder Martha Argerich plays Schumann so well !!
@@herwigmenzel5179please don’t bring this anti-scientific bullshit into this.
STUPENDOUS! A performance that I return to more over and over again, which never ceases to amaze me. Thank you, Robert Schumann for investing so much heart and soul into this masterpiece.
The Schumann Quintet is a feast to the ears and soul. Great performance.
One of my favorite pieces of music, by anyone. And it's nothing like his solo piano works (but I love them too).
how much I love this piece of music!!! Martha, her daughter,Capucon,Maisky and Shek. great interpretation, Schumann at his best.
Martha as usual gave speed tempo on the end of the 1st part.
5 excellent musicians..! Thanks for uploading!
Soulful and exhilarating. They sometimes say that Schumann was very hard for a musician to keep up with. And here sometimes you can almost see the musicians fighting to keep their seats as they struggle to keep up with the composer. My favorite composer.
My favorite composer as well. He always touches me where other composers, albeit remarkable geniuses, don’t.
Wawwwww. Incredible performance of great music! Thank you all. Unique music unique musicians. I am grateful.
Martha A plays everything SO WELL - beautiful!
Beautiful Sound and harmony.
Wonderful perfomance!Thank you.
Glorious players played Schumann I love. wow
Simply wonderful!!!
What a beautiful performance. Just brilliantly played👍👍
I like Maisky’s bathrobe! It’s so cool!
I’m convinced Schumann has seen Heaven, came back and wrote it down as this music. *sighs*
The crazy thing about Schumann’s music is that he found no comfort in anything. You can hear it in his works. He was surrounded by darkness, but sometimes an angel with lighted wings would brighten the darkness. Yet Schumann still found reasons to not only afraid of demons but angels too.
@@curtisshannon7152 he went to seances and his trouble started from that point. He met with a pastor at some point but.....evidently to no avail. His demons were real alas.
There was a lot of the occult going on in the 19th and early 20th. Its a portal from Hell straight to your soul
It's so beautiful
Wonderful ! Thank you so much :)
the black and white night concert
This amazing piece make me feel like strolling in the forest
I love how they just go straight into the last movement. Boom.
Excellent! Bravo
MARAVILLA!
An excellent performance!
Brilliant!!
oh dang the third movement is like, FURIOUSLY fast, and I kind of like the tempo for its drive but... wow I would not want to actually play it that fast myself.
I love this version :P
I like Richter's with Borodin Quartet better.
You are absolutely right. Richter with the Borodin is much better.
Huge
Masterpiece!
Bravo!!
BRILLIANT.... !!! Special memory of my performance w/ The HOFSTRA QUARTET @ Hofstra U. in L.I. , NY
I’m not very impressed.
Be proud julie holtzman
It isn't Argerich who plays it - it's Argerich, Capucon, Shek, Chen and Maisky! This is not a piano piece, let alone a piano concerto. It's chamber music!
You really think she doesn't know that?!
Not that you can tell form the recorded balance - heavy on the piano. I think the title says pretty much what you get....
@@scotthankins2420 😂
You're right, but most of us are hier led by "Martha Argererich plays SCHUMANN .." . 👏Capucon, Shek, Chen and Maisky!
@@davidwyatt850First-rate piano playing coupled with second-rate string playing at best. They cannot keep up, and this recording is the result...
Woundeful!!!!
5 people didnt like it? I suspect form another envious quintet....hmmm
Suspicious.........
HMMMMMMMMMM
It's getting worse, that naughty quintet seems to have teamed up with 5 accomplices.
That's what I was thinking . . . now there's 4 disgruntled quintets out there!

Love her hair. Actually they're all pretty groovy cats. Diggin it to the max..xx
Good tempo for the last movement here. People who play this often overlook "ma non Troppo" in the tempo.
I don't understand how anyone could give a thumbs down comment on this performance. Jealousy much?

A few bars have been edited away at 17:58-18:02... and again at 25:54 ...! Or is it just a glitch?
Exactly, why?

Really great but I Think the 3rd movement is a little bit too fast
18:05..?

The molto vivace movement is played too molto vivace for my taste.

too fast. sounds like a race. otherwise nice.
Argerich often plays faster than "normal", this is a typical example
For a moment I thought this was a Beethoven work.....oh wait nevermind just another composer ripping off his style :)
that’s what happens throughout the history of music :) early Beethoven did a few ripoffs from his predecessors as well, I can assure you of that.
