Fiji Live Rock in 2005-2006 is what got me to begin researching and learning about the reef hobby. I walked into a new LFS and they had tons of it! I asked what it was and it was strictly Reef from there!

Last year i burned out for about a year because my father passed away plus my wife and i had our first kid. I broke down my tank and sold all the fish and corals i had and it wasn't until about a month ago i finally got the motivation to get back into the hobby. We all have our reasons as to why we take a break or just leave the hobby.

I think if a person does this hobby long enough, it’s highly likely he/she will get burned out to an extent. At some point, for one reason or another we all have a different story as to why. I’ve found that even though I’ve had to tear down tanks in the past due to life, you never lose the itch. It always draws you back in at some point later in life. You never lose that love for the hobby. My Reefing journey started in 2000. 23 years later I’m still at it. Several systems later and a few breaks in between.

I have been reefing since 1991 starting with a 55 gallon and I was hooked. I'm now in a 300 gallon glass cages and I still love reefing. ❤
