Excellent how to video!!👍 I have been an automotive technician for 35 yrs. And am retired now, I watched this video to see what sizes the fasteners are, so I can pull the proper tools to travel to my friends and repair her vehicle. You were thorough and to the point, and did the repair properly with out any BS! By far the best auto repair video I have ever watched! Thank you for verbalizing the fastener sizes!
This video helped me change my pads and rotors for the first time successfully. The fix costed me only $81 and a couple hours! Thank you so much for sharing this ❤
You need to also mention that you need to check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir before compressing the piston. If it was topped off earlier when the pads were worn it could overflow the reservoir. Brake fluid is corrosive. You might need to remove some fluid before compressing the piston at the wheel.
sorry but this real world 2013 Sorrento owner has issues with those damn shims - installed the pads just don't fit ...and this absolutely is frustrating - opted to only install shims to one side as a compromise - rotor did not want to come off - if you absolutely need to you can use that access port covered by that tiny plug to reduce the tension on the parking brake pads for removal
To make your life miserable. I had to buy an impact driver to get them off. I discarded them after I got them off. It made it a little harder to replace the caliper and bracket because the rotor wasn't set tight, but it was doable. I think they are just there to hold the rotor in place until the wheel is installed.
In discussing with the dealership, that little screw is to hold the rotor in place on the assembly line before the tire eventually gets married to the vehicle

First time doing this job because this tutorial was so great I was comfortable. Costs me $72 and it saved me $300. Thank you!
This is a great video for rear brakes. Thank you! Do you have a video for the same car replacing parking brake shoes?

Never understood why they put the 2 screws in the rotors
Parking break is not engaged and the passenger side rotor is still stuck after loosening it with a hammer...any suggestions?
How do you know if you need new shoes
What in the heck is the purpose of those two little screws on the rotor???

to keep it in place before putting the tire back......

Didn't see you bleed the brakes before putting the wheel back on.
Maybe put some grease on the back of the two brake pads...
