    I want to say that your a life saver. I had that same problem last night. And this morning I drove to a auto shop and explain to them the problem and they told me that my keys in the transmission was no good and wanted me to have it told to them today so they can have it ready for me before they close. I was just about to do that till I said let me see what UA-cam say about it. And I ran across you. Thank you so so soooooo much. I'm going to subscribe to ur videos and watch them all the time to learn. Thanks again....

      AWESOME! Glad the video helped! - One other thing I ran into on this blazer was that when the mileage reached up around the 200k miles mark, there was some minor "Crank Shaft End Play". This caused the "Reluctor Wheel" on the crank to start scraping the "Crank Position Sensor." This caused the engine to start having what felt like a miss or shudder noticeable at idle. In an extreme case it can stop it from running all together. At the parts store they sell new crank position sensors with various shim thicknesses so you can shim the sensor away from the reluctor wheel to avoid having it hit it and scrape up the sensor. I never made a video about it and have since sold the Blazer. This sensor is located right below and behind the "Harmonic Balancer" (main pulley) on the front of the engine and is held in with a single bolt. You are going to have to pull off the front skid plate to get to the under side of the belts and pulleys to check it.

    My 2000 jimmy wont start when in oark, i gotta put in neutral to start. Then when i go to turn it off it won't go into park so it only goes so far then i put on the E brake and put wheel chocks behind the wheel. Kind of annoying to have to do what i gotta do but for now whatever works for me in the meantime... till i decide whenever I'm going to have it looked at. Im not a mechanic at all.

    Used a 7.5 X 20mm spring from Amazon as a replacement. It's a little smaller than the original spring but it works great. Let me know if anyone needs the link for it

    I’m having the same issue. How do you remove the pieces to get to where you were working?

    • @stonewallace
      @stonewallace  4 роки тому +1

      There are screws on the bottom of the steering column to remove the lower half of the shell, then if memory serves the top just lifts off. You have to lower the tilt steering all the way and put the gear shift in 1st to get it out of the way.

      Stonewallace ok, I’ll try it tomorrow.

      There is also an electronic solenoid that prevents it from coming out of park without your foot on the brake. It's less often that that fails but that's also possible. If yours came out of park but won't go back into park it may be the same issue I have

      I had to force it out of park like you did. There are only two T25 torc right?

    Hi! I have a 2005 Chevy trail blazer that is stuck in reverse. Car won’t start unless in park or neutral. How do I manually put the car in park, so I can start it?

    • @stonewallace
      @stonewallace  5 років тому

      I am not a professional mechanic, I just fix my own cars when I have to. Your 2005 Trailblazer is a completely different setup than my blazer. My shift lever is on the steering column and not the floor like it looks like yours is. I did find this video while doing a quick search. He shows how your "shift interlock solenoid" is located under the cover by the shift lever. The "shift interlock solenoid" is the part that when you press the brake, unlocks the shift lever to be able to take it out of park or reverse. I would start by finding that first and verify it is moving to unlock when you have the key on and press the brakes. ua-cam.com/video/W-t44SdNKSg/v-deo.html

    Hey I have a Chevy s10 wont shift from park. Changed the interlock shift solenoid tried rocking it back and forth would this be the next stop to force the shift lever ???

    • @stonewallace
      @stonewallace  5 років тому

      Yes definitely try this first. Once you remove the steering column you will see the teeth and the steps that it takes when you move the shift lever. Your issue may not be identical to mine, but you will probably spot what is holding you up. You can also disconnect the cable running to the transmission, and shift the arm on the transmission by hand with the cable not attached to confirm it's not a transmission issue
