Mark, weird question, but what pencil do you use for markup? I've tried a number of white pencils, but they never seem to write well or are too brittle and break often.
My wife's aunt passed away a few weeks ago. She was 93. Lived a great life. Her son 76 was showing me some of the furniture she has and it is all solid wood. Immediate what it came to mind was... whomever build that he/she was cousin of the Wood Whisperer. Great quality.
Oh, wow; you're using the Kapex again? When did you start using the Kapex again? Why did you start using the Kapex again? ...Where...did you start using the Kapex again?
Your mom must be proud of you man!! You're an amazing woodworker who cares about his family first of all the other things. This bed frame is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Wow. You make artistry sound like simple craftsmanship… Not that great craftsmanship is simple. Just an outstanding build and a beautiful piece. I can’t tell you how unbelievably impressed I am.
Two things hit me while watching this episode. First it is amazing how clean and shiny the surfaces of the jointer and planer are - like the have just being produced. Second: I think Mr. Marc Spagnuolo should be called Mr. Taper ;-).
Great looking bed, Marc~! I picked up the Guild Plans for this when you built the previous one. We're looking to replace our sleigh bed. I take it you're not a fan of the "mattress in a box" companies? Any experiences or info to share about any of them? Thanks~!
The tall stock router support jig was worth the watch on its own. I'm jealous of the fact that you do WAY more woodworking than I do and your Jet clamps look brand new, while mine look like they've been in a production cabinet shop for 10 years.
Great looking bed 🛌 but sorry to say seeing that bedding has given me a headache 😞 way way to busy ,think I need to go lay down just glad I don't have Epilepsy seeing that bedding who knows what could have happened to me!!!
When you rip a board from a 4 inch to a 2 inch or thinner with the band saw does the wood end up bowing, twisting, cupping etc when the fibers set themselves?
I've had boards that went haywire. But I also wondered if it was partly because my bandsaw blade wasn't sharp enough anymore. I thought maybe if there was excess heat on the one side, it might have done something. But that was just a theory. It was probably just the board.
Hey Marc i'm curious why you didn't go with tapped threads instead, I think the epoxied inserts are fine but those taps you've used in the past seem to do a very good job.
I am always so impressed when watching your videos. you make everything seem so very simple, while at the same time showing an unbelievable level of skill. bravo, man.

Where in the Denver area do you source the walnut?
Rumor has it, this guy is using the kapex
I'm pretty sure if he was, he would have told us.

i would like to know as well!
I emailed him about it a couple years ago. He sent me a link to white charcoal pencils on amazon.
amzn.to/33JbQXK This is what I use. But they are definitely brittle. I break them all the time.
@@woodwhisperer Thanks! I'll give them a shot and see if they're better than what I'm currently using.

this finish, omg. and people are asking me, why i love wax and walnut. look at this wood and you know why. its amazing
I liked you better when you used to use the kapex. Why don't you ever use it these days?
And that bed head looks super cool.
Seeing that Tee at the beginning makes me think you need “Got Morning Wood” merch 😉
I’ve been looking for years for a platform bed to build, this is it! Thank you!

What is the Kapex?
@@steenfraosterbro3268 The Kapex is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues.
Keep up the great work! I appreciate the time you have put in to making these videos!
You're a good son Sir!🤗
Your mom must be proud of you man!! You're an amazing woodworker who cares about his family first of all the other things. This bed frame is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Much appreciated!
Now, THAT’S a dovetail! Thanks.
No wig?! No lingerie!? I'm sure your neighbors wouldn't think anything about it! lol
Oh so proud of you Marc.
Hi my name is Steen, and I'm a Kapex addict too.
Hi Steen.
After over a decade still learn something from every video. Thanks Marc!
We never stop learning. Well, most of us. :)
When you stop learning, its time to hang up the tools.
okay I'm in. I will head to the guild. Nice bed for someone.
Great overview Marc, Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and please continue to stay healthy.
Wierd as it may sound, I like the sheets.. very nice build Marc
Very nice!!!
What a kind son you are Marc! I'm sure your mom is very proud of you. Oh and the bed is just beautiful :)
Nice job.
I wish I could click thumbs up over and over again! It is so,so very nice! The walnut even looks like chocolate! Happy Mom, I'm sure!
An 11 mm socket? Where’d you get those bolts? Hardwarenooneeveruses.com?? Haha. That headboard looks fantastic!
The headboard grain and "pillowing" looks super good!
Just remember if you don’t do free content you will lose subs 😂
haha That's what they young ones are saying. :)
How much darker does the Walnut go with the Walnut colored Rubio? Debating the pure vs Walnut for my new desk.
Loving the design and the walnut colour. This is one of the best bed i have ever seen. 👍
With love ❤️ from NAGALAND (INDIA)
Awesome bed Marc probably going to be getting the plans for this!
Nice, i love it 😍
Very cool Mark, thanks for posting.
Great work on the bed. Gotta keep Nonna happy amirite.
Simple and elegant lines. A very good job!
OMG you're using the kapex again!?!
😆
Wow. You make artistry sound like simple craftsmanship… Not that great craftsmanship is simple. Just an outstanding build and a beautiful piece. I can’t tell you how unbelievably impressed I am.
Thanks Ralph.
The bed is beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
Beautiful finish and clean design! Love it!!
amazing work and amazing tools 🔧 👏 👌.
Nice. The grain effect on the headboard is something my grandfather in Sicily would get only with veneers. He made prototype furniture for catalogs
Very nice. My family is from Sicily too. Still have some distant relatives there.
Great job Mark I like the design.
I really like the sheets and loved the bed.
Your moms very lucky!! Beautiful
OMG! Did you notice you’re using a kapex?
😂
You mom can't be weird, she's from Trenton!
👍👍
Beautiful project! Elegant in it's simplicity and those matching top 2 boards are a very nice touch!
Thanks!
I think the sheets are great... and the bed too!
Sleeping out under the stars in style!
That big project but is simple good like
What are the hand sanding blocks you use?
Cool bed- but how is the Google Home Mini hanging on the wall?
have you ever considered using the pantorouter?
How hard can this project really be when you are using the Kapex?
It practically builds itself.
Model and work is very good
Love it. A beautiful piece.
Where can I find the finish you used on the bed?
hi ' I need a good design for bed . It 'll be Padauk wood
I like the Ocarina of Time in the background 👍😂
You should hear me play it. The neighborhood dogs usually sing along. :)
Sweet and simple very nice
This is a beautiful piece.
Beautiful job! Are you using a white stencil pencil for markup or something different? Is it easy to clean up?
For markup and sometimes for layout. Though the line is thick so I only use it for laying out on video as it makes the lines much easier to see.
@@woodwhisperer Thanks. Love your work. I'm a hobbyist and have learned some great techniques from your videos.
I so need to hire an assistant
Beautiful as always.
Nice work. #STAYSAFE

Is there any particular reason you switched back to the Kapex? I have the Bosch glide and just wondering about it.
Beautiful
When you rip a board from a 4 inch to a 2 inch or thinner with the band saw does the wood end up bowing, twisting, cupping etc when the fibers set themselves?
Depends on the board. If it behaves, then it comes out pretty straight. If the wood is unstable, than it might go haywire.
I've had boards that went haywire. But I also wondered if it was partly because my bandsaw blade wasn't sharp enough anymore. I thought maybe if there was excess heat on the one side, it might have done something. But that was just a theory. It was probably just the board.

Nice project. And, yes, very awkward sitting on a bed in your driveway.
I like the sheets....
Your work is beautiful...could you tell me what is the best stain or dye to use on end grain?
Flexing on us with that stock of Lysol wipes. Nice! 😉
What type of roller do you use to spread the glue? Anyone know? Reusable?
This is the one I use. It's called a Brayer amzn.to/2XVGidq
the hell is kpex?
Cool paisley.
Quadruple mirrored book match looks cool on the headboard.
What was the wax finish you used? Couldn’t see the whole can, was it Rubio Monocoat?
It was.
The Wood Whisperer do you use the two part version for the faster cure time or just the base component?
Hey! Just following up here as I had issues with the 2C version before and seeing if you like it or just use the 1 part
You are a great craftsman. I really enjoy your channel, and your sense of humour.
I love that headboard! You were on the money about softening the look of it that way.
2:48 anyone else think that sounds like Chewbacca?
Love the pillowed slats. Very nice.
I wish I could hang out on a bed in the driveway...
Why didn’t you use the Domino instead of all those mortise/tenons?
Beautiful
Did I see you using hide glue near the beginning of the video?
Toodles!
Toodles!
A simple bed with uneasy joints .
Love the Dragon Priest Mask, Marc!
It’s beautiful and the cover too 👍
Beautiful, gorgeous.
What a great bed.
