Have you considered doing/making content out of Japan doing carpentry/woodworking? You can bring your daughter along for the travel ‘vlog’ angle.
Looks nice, I bet tastes nice too, but all the single use plastic.. :(
Tamar, have you quit YT? Hope everything is well with you guys.
Super💯👍
As a DIY woodworker, I am super impressed with the quality and precision that you bring to all your projects. Your voice over commentaries really explain how and why you are doing it that way. It's always a pleasure watching your videos.
So awesome to hear! Thanks!
@@Glassboxgames I have all the same tools as my old shop… nice try. Ha.
@@Glassboxgames This is ridiculous, none of what she is doing or the precision achieved requires any fancy tools, and it has been demonstrated by prior videos with that $300 dewalt saw. The better tools just save time and are more pleasant to use...
- Any festool domino usage can be replaced by dowels. Not that it was even necessary here, it was just insurance for the glue-up
- Any of the cuts made with the fancy saw could've been made with a $300 table saw, the sawstop is mostly insurance for not injuring yourself like crazy if you mess up. That includes the cross cuts. The festool miter saw is convenient, but it's not like a cross cut sled can't do that. I decided against even buying a miter saw at all for myself since my sled works fine and I lack space, and it's not problem at all, it just means that every now and then I have to roll my table saw around a bit if it's something long. Or worse, clamp up a guide for a $70 dewalt circular saw I got on craigslist a few years ago, omg...
The only part that is 'kinda' dubious is the usage of the shaper origin, but if you look closer, nothing really instrumental to the build was done with it, it's not like you can't easily make a 4in circle in 30 other ways, such as a router jig or if you're feeling really poor and basic, just do like me for my last table build, trace lines with an improvised compass made with a string and a pencil, cut them close to the line with a jig saw, and creep on the cuts with sandpaper.
Fantastic build overall, really like it
Fastastico, que bela lição!
Parabéns pela criatividade!
I’m a retired carpenter who constantly learns from you. For instance: You used more templates in this project than I used per year.
Love your work👍
Love your car! Take good care of it. Had to give up my TR4A IRS during a US military deployment. Hate to think of it.
@@Glassboxgames
Well that’s okay.
That’s how you make money on YTube & I don’t know the difference.
I’d like to figure out a way to use legs like that. Maybe for a cremation Urn really might not work.
@@Glassboxgames So why did you watch it? It must be tough getting friends when going through life being grumpy and denigrating. I'd hate to have you within 3° of influence.
@@GlassboxgamesShe explained why she uses templates in the video. Yours is a really stupid comment.
That lathe jig on the table saw is amazing! So much faster than traditional turning and as you said more accurate!
Good idea if you have no lathe. But an experience turner would do this quicker without having to make a jig.
Easier fitted sheets change is brilliant. Something only a mom would come up with. So obvious when you see it! That bed looks awesome. And loved how you went drill sergeant on your daughter during the glue up! :)
I don't. If you listen to the laugh you can tell that she's already falling into an actual anxiety attack over it, and what the mother responds with is exactly the thing you DON'T say in that situation to anyone you love or even mildly care about if you understand anxiety attacks and anxiety disorders. That's not to say that this event is deliberate psychological abuse, but it's definitely not simply the cute fun moment that the mom hopefully intended it to be and that you interpreted it as. If you ever hear your child laugh like that, STOP and PAY ATTENTION to what's going on, and either calm yourself and them or get one or both of you out of that situation, whichever is most appropriate.
@claws61821 Or.. Or it was one of million situations that children need to face and learn as they grow up in a non cotton candy walled world. These jumps to "traumatic experience" is bizarre. It's almost as if the goal is to brag about being the most wounded. It's especially egregious when you are practically calling her out for emotional abuse. WTH.
@@hansangb You want "jumping to conclusions? How about going from me coming as close to saying "benefit of the doubt" as you can without either using the words or completely dismissing the situation, to you accusing me of accusing her? Or how about the fact that you have the gumption to say all that forces me to the conclusion that you don't know squat about anxiety and how it works in either the short term or the long term?
@@claws61821 This is the reason why Tamar goes to such lengths to shield her children. There's nothing REMOTELY traumatic or "nearly" traumatic or even WHIFF of being traumatic. It was just a glue up *NOTHING* more. Res Ipsa Loquitur But you do you.
@@claws61821 LMAO you are the definition of a snowflake. "anxiety attack"? Fuck you. That's insulting to anyone who has had an actual anxiety attack.
Oh... a beautiful bed - I love your daughter's "design genes" and how you turned her vision into reality~ also great that you got everyone happy to help!
Thanks! She is so proud that she helped design and build it ☺️
Outstanding work and I like the touch that allows for easy removal and fitting of bed sheets. This is what happens when you have the designer actually consider real-life annoyances during the planning process.
Thanks so much! Was excited when I thought of that idea!
Great example of why diversity is so important, I don't think a Dad would have thought of that!
I love woodworkers who create their own jigs; inventive jigging really is the soul of fine woodworking and you're definitely captured it. Great work!
Absolutely, my favorite woodworker on youtube! Izzy and others do amazing stuff, but none explain like Tamar or have shown us how to do things without having really expensive equipment. The builds are always super unique too!
Wow, thank you!
I’m not even a parent and I absolutely love that you mask your children. But more so, I LOVE love the form and function of this design.
So glad you like it! And yes. They will thank me one day Ha
I find myself pressing the like button within the first few seconds of your videos. Why? Because you’ve consistently put out so much good material that I’m *that* confident-and *that* quickly-that I’m going to learn something useful and cool.
Btw, was that a new Sketchup addition for the designs? If so, awesome. That’s next on my list of things to learn. 😊
Thanks so much for being a great teacher to a woodworking newb. 🙇🏻♂️
Wow. So awesome to hear! I always use sketchup, I just don’t typically show it since I’m not that great at it
@@3x3CustomTamar The good folks at Sketchup thank you for the $300 sale you just helped them close, haha.
Looking forward to all the cool projects in your slick new shop!
Agreed Ryan!
I tried other "free" things and ended up paying Sketchup $250 for it. It really is the best for planning / designing woodworking projects. Especially cabinets.
Get used to the idea that you're going to spend a few hours on your first design and then scream, throw it away and start from scratch all over again. Unless you're really lucky, the first few things you design will be for learning the tool. You'll throw them away and start over again a few times, but each time you start over you'll go faster and faster until you'll finally be able to throw down a good design in about 15 minutes. It's frustrating but worth it.
Beautiful build! As always, I love your tips and tricks. I saw your short on that kick back awhile back, but it was nice to see it in the context of the build and see how even if you’ve done something again and again with no issue - all it takes is once…
I love, love, love how involved your kids were, especially that your daughter wanted to help so much! It’s wonderful every time I see a maker involving their kids or grandkids, getting them interested in making-doing-creating. Again, the bed is just beautiful. Bravo on another great build! 😊
It’s really fun to get them involved, but it is hard for the perfectionist in me… 😂
@@3x3CustomTamar ha! I totally understand! 😁
Beautiful work as always! I bet she's thrilled with it, I got into woodworking myself as a kid messing around with my dad on various projects. Side note- my old shop teacher's favorite hobby was to go around and yank the string out of hoodies whenever he saw a student wearing one in the shop, he did manage to ingrain in me to be nervous AF to have anything hanging near running tools. In my shop I've always opted to just tie a knot in the ends of the string just outside the eyelets and snip off the excess string instead of removing it. Be safe and keep up the inspirational work, peace! :]
Thanks! I usually tuck them in 😬
Wooooow, your daughter is so lucky! The design looks amazing, can't wait to see how it comes together ☺️
Edit: 3:50 Oml my heart 😵💫
Haha. Yeah… good thing I was standing off to the side!
@@3x3CustomTamar Yeah right, good thing you were! 😅
You have been my favorite woodworking creator on UA-cam for so many years.
Thank you for all your hard work!
My daughter turns 6 months in 10 days. Love seeing the family involved in the build. I dream of doing this with my children (current and future... wife and I definitely want more). Enjoyed watching this build from start to finish on normal playback speed.
You rock! Can't wait for my Router Jig to ship!
Tamar, you are an amazing mother, woodworker and role model to all. I have nothing but praise for you and your family. Oh, and by the way, that is a beautiful piece of furniture x
Really nice build. You're one of the few UA-cam Woodworkers that I follow that I haven't started watching at 2x speed, in fact I'm often rewinding to watch parts over as you still take your time to show and explain how you accomplished different aspects of the build.
Haha nice. That’s the goal! I watch everything else in 2x speed…
Your innovations are not only beautiful but so practical too. Some beds make it very difficult to change sheets, but not this one. Good to see the crew getting so involved too. Thanks, Tamar.
As a non woodworker, I loved watching all the steps that go into making something that all fits together perfectly. Loved the bed, especially the castle legs.
I know people liked to see how you could do beautiful work with very low budget tools, but it's so cool to see you in your new shop with all your fun fancy tools! I love it! Can't wait to be at that point as well!
So glad you enjoy that because I’m enjoying it too!
I’ve heard of “soccer mums”, but a “glue-up mum” is a new one to me!
😂😂😂
Some kick balls, others kick butt.
😂
That was the most relatable parenting moment I’ve seen on UA-cam
LOL
I’m in my late '70’s and started woodworking 8 years ago. I follow your UA-cam channel and I am in awe of your woodworking skill development over that period. Congratulations, you are an inspiration!
I did a Castle joint bed too recently, I really enjoyed seeing how others find different solutions for the same problems, the bed turned out beautiful, congratulations 🎉👏
Havent seen an upload in a while.. you still with us?
Thank you SO much. New things always make the day better!
Your wood working videos inspire me in ways that other channels don’t. I don’t do any woodworking, but I really enjoyed it at school and would love to take it up when I’m older and can afford it (being in your 20s in London at the moment is rough). I think there’s something about the way you show your thinking, occasional failures, and the fantastic end results which your family get to enjoy. Your passion and expertise are so clear in every video.
Great mom and daughter project. Love to see this. Love that she was so into being a part of the build.
The bed turned out AWESOME!!! Love the joinery and details you put into it like angled corners to make changing fitted sheets easier. Your narration is always so well done! I ordered one of your 6 in 1 router bases last month and am very much looking forward to using it! Happy New Year to you and your family!
I love that you included your daughter in the process. I have two daughters and I try to get them involved as much as possible. 😊
She feels very proud
I really like this bed design and how it turned out! The angled sided and back so you can easily change the fitted bottom sheet is a big plus! Enjoy seeing your videos!
Very inspiring!! Beautiful with the round legs.
Super wholesome and great project!
Brilliant design as usual! Thank you so much for posting your projects. Thumbs up!
Absolutely outstanding.
Such beautiful workmanship. Great job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Good to have you back! Great job on a great looking bed.
Parabéns! Tem atenção e dedicação em cada detalhe! Que especial e lindo!
I just LOVE watching you work. The way your mind approaches the processes… Brilliant!! 😎
Love the bed. Love the leg joinery.
Great design..Love the build.
GREAT jig creation/utilization! Especially when working with white oak on the table saw….as well as little things like the dowels to increase strength for end-face grain joints. Beautiful work!
Tamar I'm so glad you look warm!
great bed I love the joints!
Your work is phenomenal!
Nice build and great to see you include your daughter.
Thanks! She had a lot of fun too
that bed is absolutely gorgeous and the castle joinery is ridiculously cool !!!
That headboard during the glue-up looks awesome the you Ladies did the layout of the grains!!!!
Absolutely Love Love Love, the design ♥️
Outstanding design and craftsmanship Tamar! You should be very proud of this project.
Great job.
We have a lot of projects updating our 60 year old home that we built for the potential. It is always so much fun to work with my daughter in particular and she generally enjoys it as well. Hugs at the end are best.
The project is fantastic, but the PROCESS is everything! I love watching how you solve problems to insure accuracy and repeatability. So smart!
Thanks so much! It is a fun journey to get to the end product 👍
WOW! What a big build, love seeing the process 😍 Thanks for sharing and it looks fantastic 🤩
Wow, I really, really like this bed.
Great video Tamar! I always learn something from you! Thanks
I'm glad I stayed for the hugs. I HAVE to make this now. HAVE TO!
🥰🥰
So many tricks, amazing!
What am awesome bed! Izzie is a genius, but you figured it(table saw router)out without instruction.
Awesome job on a one of a kind bad, built with a Mothers love!
God bless you! Your daughter will treasure the bed forever.
Truly inspiring job all the way! 😀
Great job as usual!!!! Great design and great execution!
Great project and video Tamar! Glad to see you again 😊
Looking at this video after your floating bed design and build. This castle joint would be great support for the edge of the bed.
Very nicely done Tamar! I hadn't seen the "table saw lathe" trick before. Looks like it works great. Thanks for sharing. New shop is coming along too!
Looks fantastic!
As someone who make furniture for a living there were a few interesting things I learned from this. Your lathe jig is way better than mine and I think I’ll be using that. I liked your use of templates, I use templates a lot but you had some uses I wouldn’t immediately think of. I also loved your jig for making the castle joints on the saw so clean and simple.
Great video and love the design of this bed! So thoughtful and a well executed.
This is genius and so much safer. Love the round castle joint. 💕
First a compliment. Your videos and Stumpy Nubs are the only woodworking videos that I watch at regular speed. Everyone else I watch double speed.
If by involving your daughter in the build process you were trying to get her interested in woodworking I think she should have applied the finish. For me at least that is magic time. The most satisfying thing is to see the project go from looking good to great.
There's a lot of nice details in this design! Learned some things!
I concur with your son that you are smart! You always seem to have such creative approaches to novelty joinery and are great at explaining your process. Bed looks great too!
Good on you for getting the kids involved. More parents need to do this.
As always chocked full of useful information that is explained clearly. As a hobbyist this is the main thing I look for in project videos. Learning, figuring things out, new twists, jigs, a few warts fixed, and great results.
Haha! Fixing warts is what the ppl want. Noted! 😂 glad you liked it!
Thanks for showing the castle joint, Tamar. That looks great! What a lucky daughter. (Actually, I think you are the luckier, to have a kid who takes interest in your woodworking!) Love the furniture style and the joinery fits it perfect. Can’t wait to learn more from you.
Love, love, love! This is an AWESOME build!
Wow. You are so talented. I love that you teach the kids a skill that they can pass on. This country needs more like you.
It’s so fun to involve them
I need all the equipments to start as i have learned a tone from This channel Keep uploading and Stay blessed... Love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ from Kashmir Snowing outside and watching this video relaxing.....
So glad you’re learning!
Thanks for the "artistry" in motion in woodworking.....
Amazing build
Very beautiful!
Having watched your older videos as compared to today, you’ve really grown as a woodworker and presenter. The move seems to be a good thing to. Shop is looking great.
Thanks so much! Maybe not freezing my nose off is doing some good for me. Ha
Yes to your insightful voice over, tight editing, support for your daughter’s vision, anonymized including her, and gorgeous, precise creations!
Would love to see you do a Murphy bed!
☺️☺️
Recently started watching your videos because I love how you talk through your challenges and what goes into your choices. Helps a lot as I’m a self-taught hobbyist.
But seeing how you are with your kid, and how you didn’t included anything identifiable about her (even with her expressing interest in participating)… I’ve decided youre now my no1 go to creator haha. Kids in online media is a terrifying psychological clusterf**k. And protecting your kid without dismissing them from what you do is so amazing and I have the most respect for you (great video, I’m excited to start my own home makeshift lathe)
Love your content! Makes me want to build beds for my guys when they are older! Thanks for posting!
Very impressive build. You did a great job. Thanks for sharing the video. I'll go back to watch the part where you glued up the parts of the legs together.
My gracious, lady, you do some FINE work: wood work, video work, presentation and the planning for it all! Nicely done!
Beautiful, thank you.
That bed is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
So glad you like it!
Fantastic job! I’m glad to see the shop is coming together too.
Thanks! Still so many things to set up. But it’s functional!
I just love your channel! You are an amazing woodworker!
That was a great design. Love your work.
Looks great
Just amazing work and thought into this project.
You're projects are always awesome. Keep them coming.
Thanks! I’m trying. Ha
nice work, I really like this style, congratulations
I love the functionality and asthmatics of the joinery. Nice work, very classy!!
Thanks so much! This one was fun to bring to reality
Good build, nice work! Also nice to see some heavier machines entering the shop.
Excellent job, great video, and thanks for the idea of the table saw lathe. Looking forward to your next submission.
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Amazing technique, nice design. Congratulations from Venezuela
Thank you! Cheers!
Those cross joints and legs look fantastic. Beautifully simple = simply beautiful.
I love the joints for the legs! Also the end grain dowel trick!
I did however get distracted by your awesome cutting board when making your GreenChef lunch!!!! Do tell! We need to see that up close maybe with a tutorial. You, Katz, and Stump are my favorite channels. Two years woodworking and many more construction for me. I finally had to learn what the really tiny lines on my tape measure were called when I started woodworking haha!!! Thanks for all the things I have learned from your channel!
You Did An Amazing Job. My Hat Off To You.
Thanks so much!
It's a lovely build and looks very sturdy.
Thanks!
