- This was a special live service hastily arranged, I think, at the start of the first Gulf War. Here are the wonderful words of Psalm 100 set to the tune Old 100th. The choir sing verse 3 alone, and there's a good descant on the last verse and thunderous organ. Lots more of this to come.
It was presented by the Rev Dr Colin Morris, who actually managed to sound like a Reverend in the C of E with a faith in God.
Extraordinary. I get Holy Spirit goosebumps and tears when hearing this and singing with it.
Amen and thanks. In these dark times, may God light our way.
Indeed how far we like sheep have strayed. I pray daily for a new Great Awakening that will draw us back to his fold.
Blessed be the Eternal Trinity!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE HYMN..I´M PRESBYTERIAN , I FROM COLOMBIA.AMERICA.
MY GREAT DREAM IS CAN STAY IN WESTMINSTER ABBEY LITURGY !!!
my english is so so..
That song is breathtaking. That's why I love the Anglican tradition.
I'm not going to enter into any inter-denominational bickering. Suffice it to say I cannot recall having heard a hymn sung with such power and fervour anywhere else. And that organ . . . wow!
Thank you for posting this.
Another great hymn from the Anglicans by this fantastic choir at Westminster Abbey.
I have to admit after hearing this, the English must be the finest singers on earth. WOW. This hymn is awsome! Makes me want to cross the pond to England and go to church!!!!
beautiful and uplifting! Praise God for voices and music!!
2:35
It's amazing how many Christians know this hymn. Our Bible believing, liturgical church (LCMS) used to sing this song after collecting the offering.
No matter what it is that one thinks of this version of Old 100th...It s the fact that "The People" have gathered to praise Our Lord in Peace and Harmony. :{)
The authority of God, he can created and he destroy , all honor and glory is for He
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.
(Psalm 113:3)
Westminster Abbey --- I love the descant!
I'd like to year classic Christmas pieces in this setting. How sacred and wonderful that'd be for Christmas.
awesome song! to think that the Lord Jesus came down to this earth to die for me and for you. He says that anyone who seeks Him, WILL FIND HIM! all we have to do is ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of the gospel to us. Jesus will find a way to bring us to Him. He IS the Good Shepherd. He loves us more than we can ever fathom.
The Boy Soprano at the end is just ethereal
I'll be singing this with my ELCA Lutheran choir soon. Such beauty!
