    Hi, I just discovered that I have Average Porosity, which I'm told means Normal/Medium Porosity. I notice that not many people on UA-cam talk about how to care for this porosity especially since if you are not careful you can cause it to change. Can you PLEASE do a video on caring for Normal Porosity along with product selections❤

    I braid my hair every wash day and take them out only to wash my hair, which it's on a weekly basis or going somewhere and I want my hair to look cute. I am a swimmer so I will keep it braided. Nothing fancy that I do. I just need to able to get to my scalp and make sure it's healthy.

    My summer hair care plan will be low manipulative, altho I don't have a particular stlye in mind. I try to change it up every wash day once/wk so that there is less mechanical stress on any one spot. Since I live on a tropical island, which gets hot and humid at times, my real focus will be on moisture and having an optimal protein/moisture balance.
    Great video as usual.

    You’re such a joy. And an answer to prayer! Bless you 🙏🏾 Summer for me is 2 strand twists, cloves and rosemary water, and honey and manuka treatments. Now question - With quite a few naturalistas in the entertainment industry branching out into hair lines, would you consider breaking down the chemical makeup and best porosity matchups for products within hair lines by Taraji P Henson, Tracee Ellis Ross, etc.? Again thank you for all you do sis ❤️

  • @AngelaCelesteMay

    Great content as usual! I plan to continue doing what I usually do for my hair as it's working very well for me.
    Washing my hair every other week starting with a hot oil treatment , clarifying with Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi shampoo once a month and on alternate weeks I use Shea Moisture restorative moisturizing shampoo followed by their restorative conditioning hair mask followed by a protein conditioner, then a final cool apple cider vinegar rinse and a light touch of grease on my scalp after it's washed. My hair loves the LOC method which I do with Paul Mitchell's the Original leave-in conditioner, followed by extra virgin olive oil , followed by Shea Moisture restorative leave-in (creamy) conditioner. I moisturize daily or every other day. I also massage my scalp most days with a little jojoba oil (makes NY hair very soft) and pay special attention to my edges.
    I usually up with braid outs or twist outs and about 50% of the time protective styles with flat twist or flat braids or a high bun.
    It is such a relief to have a routine that is working well for my hair and your videos are part of the reason why. Thank you!

    My hair loves oil rinse-thanks to you! But, I want to start ACV rinses too-just don’t know when to add it?? I have high porosity hair and follow your pmp method. I prepoo with coconut oil the night before washing, shampoo with non-sulfate high moisture shampoo, deep condition with steamer/heat cap, detangle, rinse conditioner, add oil in shower-then lightly rinse oil out, add kinky curly leave in, and then kinky curly custard as my styler. I was thinking add the ACV rinse right after rinsing out deep conditioner (which would be before my oil rinse). So I would rinse out deep conditioner, spray hair with ACV in sections, let sit for a few minutes, then rinse the ACV out, then add sealing oil mix, let and then rinse oil out. Add my kinky curly leave in. Add my kinky curly custard as a styler and proceed to twists braids or wash and go etc. Would this be right for your PMP method?

    1. Harsh surfactants: Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
    2. Relaxing ingredients: Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide, break the Disulfate bonds - compromises protein-, high ph, opens cuticle
    3. ACV - GOOD, low ph, closes cutticle
    4. Products can change the porosity of your hair, ph has to be 4.5-5.5

    This summer is all about figuring out how to make my hair actually soft 🤔 I’ve been trying new things for the past few months and seen huge improvements in the health, manageability, and curl pattern, yet my hair just doesn’t often feel very soft :( I think it has to do with living in Vegas, bc when I go to humid areas my hair feels incredible as soon as it hits the humid air lol. So finding a way to navigate the even drier climate this summer will be a challenge. Thanks for the tips ☺️

    • @vonne2003
      @vonne2003 2 роки тому +1

      Have you tried a humidifier for your home? Your bedroom would be the best place for it. Your hair can get the moisture it needs overnight,

    • @personmcdudeguy
      @personmcdudeguy 2 роки тому +1

      you could use leave-ins with no humectants. In a dry climate, the humectants will suck moisture out of your hair instead of bringing moisture in. Also protecting your hair from the sun. It won't heal any damage but will prevent future sun damage. Also see if you have hard water, then maybe get a Showersticks shower filter. Or go to Sally's and get the Ion Chelating Treatment packets for a few bucks. The minerals could be making your hair harder. And lastly it may just be time for a trim. But these are just some ideas.

    This makes me wonder at what stage should we be using ACV? Like, if we use it before our moisturizers or leave-ins would that shut out the hydration (I guess from water based products) or are product molecules small enough to get in there still, after ACV?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  2 роки тому +2

      Great question! ACV will not shut out the moisture, water molecules are extremely small and able to penetrate the cuticle despite an ACV rinse. ACV supports a close cuticle thus keeping that moisture within the cuticle for a longer period of time.

      @@CurlyChemistry Okay, that makes sense and makes me less worried about having to walk around smelling like acv from trying to do it last like a sealant, lol! Thank you! I'm gonna try this my next wash day!

    I’m doing 2 strand twist, twist outs on occasion, this summer. Im unsure how to keep my scalp clean between 2 week washes, bc I sweat a lot, tho. Is there a method to clean the scalp, without doing a complete wash/undoing my twists?

      Spritz your scalp with acv water mix, and massage it. Maybe twice a week.

      ACV might leave a lingering smell, maybe refreshing your scalp with witch hazel? I’d imagine the rose water kind would be a great balance of cleansing and hydrating/soothing!

      I've just had my 4th chemo treatment. I started losing hair around the 2nd treatment. Oscar night I cut it all randomly down (it had gotten terribly matted). My natural hair was past my shoulders. Very sad. 😞😢
      I'm basically bald but because of the way I cut it and the way it fell out, I have little tufts at the crown and around the edges. That helps when I have hats and scarves on.
      My hair is growing. I've only used my own growth oils and concoctions here and there, the day of chemo. I do think black and green tea help against hair falling out. I used 1 bag each green tea and black tea to 1 cup distilled water and steep until cool. Mix 1 oz tea mixture with 1 oz aloe vera juice in a spray bottle and apply to scalp and gently massage. I sealed it with a light amount of growth oil. I also use a massager on my scalp.
      Don't use essential oils like peppermint because the scalp is too sensitve and tender during chemo, plus the scent might overwhelm and cause nausea.
      I have been struggling (long story) to use my own DIY Cold Caps with dry ice. I'll keep trying though. 🙂
      Soursop fruit juice and leaves, berries (especially strawberries), green tea, cranberry juice, Essiac tea all in a smoothie has been helpful too.
      Bottomline, JESUS IS THE ANSWER!!! I KNOW I'm not dying from cancer and God has great things in store for me! The tumor has reduced and The Most High GOD did it (there is no other GOD!)!!! ❤❤❤GLORY TO GOD! YAY!❤❤❤
      Tell your friend to be gentle with herself and be that hated word PATIENT! 😄 God richly bless you all!

It is different when hair HAS to be cut for that hell-spawn disease 🤬. 5 years later this month I'm growing my hair out & am BLESSED ❗May our most magnificent Creator bless, keep & deliver you from your health challenge.
