    Hey Naomi! The issue with Nuclear Sunrise is environmental and didn’t arise in our testing. We have refunded or replaced the bottle for every customer. We have fixed it. ;) on the Occultist Cloak, the cracking can happen if the surface is too glossy. This can happen if an ink is used or the spray primer has gone on a bit too thick. But shouldn’t be an issue with most matte primers. Thanks as always for the review!

    • @swordnsteele712
      @swordnsteele712  10 місяців тому +13

      Hello!
      Thank you for the info! 🤗
      I'll reach out to my distributor about the Nuclear Sunrise I have then to get new ones for the rack!
      And I'll be mindful of non-matte primers if using the speedpaints.
      I suppose a quick layer of the Speed Paint Medium or your Anti-Shine Varnish first over anything gloss will counter that issue as well 🤔👍
      Thank you for sharing the tips!

    It is always nice to have detailed breakdowns of contrast/speed/xpress paints on models.
    Since it is extremely hard to judge how the paints will look like on actual model from bottle content look or sticker on the bottle.
    Even other online guides usually show surface or surface-like paintings.
    Moreover the alphabetic order with timecodes is awesome idea!
    Thanks a lot again!

    I like ancient honey for making a weathered paper color as well. For my Mardi Gras marines I tend to use it for some of the prayer strips on various parts. Sometimes on it's own, sometimes with a dark wash on top, or sometimes I just get curious and layer several of the yellow/non-metallic golds to see what it looks like lol.

    Hey Naomi, I think you should redo the Vallejo Xpress Color paint test. It is now obvious that you didn't shake the paints enough when you did it. Try putting a couple of mixing balls in each bottle and giving them 60 shakes.

      Hi! I did put two mixing balls in each one and shook them well ;) Like I said before, now that I've used 90 different Speed Paints, 63 different Contrast Paints, and all of the Xpress paints, I still don't prefer the Xpress paints... But! I will be trying them again once the rest of the colours come out, so we shall see and I'll update then! :)

    • @swordnsteele712
      @swordnsteele712  7 місяців тому

      They feel similar to Contrast, though where Contrast is quite different across its range, these feel very similar to each other, no matter the colour. 🤔 Add in some Speed Medium if you'd like to build up the layers, remember to do a single coat and let it dry completely before adding the next, and you may find you like them. They are certainly worth trying :)
      They go through the airbrush well, too!

      I didn't find that, I found it a dark grey. Perhaps it needs more ferocious mixing? It also depends what colour you put it over. A cold grey would possibly make it more purple... It will take multiple layers to be black black, as well.

    You're a godsend with these Speedpaint videos, seriously, this is extremely useful. I only wish, reeeaaally wished, you had done this one on Saturation and Hue order, other than alphabetical. Regardless, huge thanks for this.
