As a fellow hobbyist and marketing guy I love everything behind this video. Really usefull video, beginners friendly but covers a variety of skill levels, and does a great job marketing and displaying the strengths of your products 👏
I just a beginner mini painter, but I'm starting with the speedpaints 2.0. So far they are really nice. This is a fantastic video showing techniques and tips. Thanks and keep the videos rolling.
More of this on different minis. The best ad is to use your own products in interesting ways... this kind of video should be a regular ;) For beginners, maybe add a textured surface board to the range of products that they can prime and paint combinations on?
Just got into painting miniatures after 25 years away but I was never very good at it, it’s amazing how much better my work is looking using your speed paint range with a few simple tips and tricks 😊 and some new ones this video has shown me which I will soon be practicing
Very nice video. Love the marketing/community support recently and speedpaints really helped me convert a lot of grey plastic into playable miniatures. I have been playing around with the speedpaint base and warpaint drybrushed highlights, but I usually struggle with identifying the "right" highlight colour from the warpaints colors to drybrush over speedpaints. Maybe you guys could release a pdf/video with recommendations for the speedpaint range? I think that would be handy. Could potentially help cross selling as well. ;)
Something that might help is to print or buy a color wheel. Learn a bit of color theory and it makes a lot more sense. Neighboring colors, opposite colors, triangles etc... 😉 It gets fun when it "clicks". You will also develop a feeling for all this stuff over time. A simple trick is to save the random leftover bits when you build minis. Glue them to something like a flat surface and you will soon have your own "texture surface" (for free) 🥳 You can then prime it and apply speedpaints (or other paints) and test different combinations safely before applying them to miniature. I sometimes also do tests on square grid paper when I am looking at transparency etc for glazes. How much of the grid can I still see after X layers? What happens if I add this other color on top of the previous color?
Superb tips. I have been using 45 of the Army Painter Speedpaints for the last month for a Fantasy Miniature nostalgia blast project and I must say they have brought back the real enjoyment of painting fantasy miniatures and units again and without these paints I would never have started it. These to me are the best of all of the speed paints on the market and I love how flexible and versatile they are. I have enjoyed using them so much I will eventually buy the full range as they have made an older miniature painter very happy. I just wish they had been around 40 years ago when I first started painting. All the very best, Darren Matthews
I fell in love with AP paints from the advanced chaos knight tutorial (my knights look amazing) and plan on getting the whole speedpaint range. Please make more of these videos!
I'll be honest, as a newbie to the hobby I always imagined speedpaint to only be useful for doing slapchop which kinda pushed me away a bit. On the other hand, this was super easy to follow and shows you can pretty much use speedpaint just like regular acrylics by glazing and such. Definitely interesting in trying some of this stuff out now.
Ive been having fun putting speedpaints over different undercoats. Like putting brown over an under oat of khaki or a dark red over an undercoat of light red
Great video, and really great looking paint job! I'm using a mix of your Speedpaint 2.0 set and some Warhammer pots, but really struggling with making fur look realistic. It's the contrast + dry brushing that i need to work on, so watching videos like this one are very helpful.
Hey folks. I enjoyed working with your products including the original SP formula and looking forward to trying out the new version. Keep up the good work and thanks.
I'm gonna admite, speedpaint does saved my ass painting miniatures. I'm just a starter painting miniatures and speedpaint helped me a lot painting my minis.
I've noticed quality of speed paints is sort of all over the place with these. I've had great results with some colors and some not so great performance on others.
Could you recommend using speedpaints on larger models with large flat surfaces? I have a few armigers but I'm a bit nervous to try a new technique on such a nice model.
It definitely works best on surfaces with more texture to them. To get the best results with Speedpaint on a large flat surface like an Armiger's carapace, I would try mixing in more Speedpaint Medium and building up several thinner layers. Speedpaint also works very well through an airbrush, but will give you more of a uniform colour that way as opposed to the shadows and highlights of applying it by brush.
Question, the brush that came with the "Most Wanted 2.0" where does that brush fit in the line up? can it be used for detail work or should i consider a finer brush?
I tried zenithal / slapchop priming and found I didn't get much more detail versus just using a single white Matt primer. My minis are more colorful without the zenital / slapchop. Plus, it's one less step to do in the prep work!
is there a recommended airbrush primer for speedpaints? I've pulled primer off of my models using both 1.0 and 2.0 speedpaints, using both Badger and Monument Hobbies airbrush primer. I'm about to try Vallejo primer next, but the common denominator seems to be speedpaint. I'd really like to avoid rattle can primers if possible. Thanks
I use badger and have 0 issues. I had a mini I painted the other day that I wasn't happy with and just went scratched at it from every angle with my fingernail and couldn't get the finish or the primer to come up at all. When using badger I always give it a full day to dry before painting. At what point of the process are you having the primer pull off?
We actually have a conversion chart for Warpaints Fanatic on our Downloads section of the website: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0636/1232/1970/files/A3_Fanatic_Colour_Conversion_Chart_WEB.pdf?v=1726566052
What makes these speed? Cause I just used them and it still took hours and doesn’t look that different from the acrylic paint, maybe darker where it looks like I don’t need a wash but that’s about it.
Speedpaints eliminate the need for the typical base, shade, highlight method of painting, allowing you to do just 1 coat of paint to achieve all 3 effects.
I'm glad they let Thomas have his yearly hour of outdoor time before they chain him back up in the paint cellar. He's earned it.
Bahahahaha
That leather tip was exactly what I needed this morning.
Thomas is making a excellent paintjob as always
Please do more vids like this. I just bought the speedpaint 1.0 and would like to see more like this
As a fellow hobbyist and marketing guy I love everything behind this video.

As a guy with a similar background, i second this! :D

Hold on a second... I've got that miniature! 😜Now I know how to paint it. Thank you, Thomas and The Army Painter.

Love these paints. Awesome Job Thomas!
Flickin the bristles on an old brush for blood spray is such a smart and simple technique
Excellent! We need more tips and tricks like these specially for Speedpaints.

Brilliant demo and practical use of speedpaint techniques. Thank you so much for supporting your product and helping us make the best use of it! 👍👍

Just started using these, they are incredible. Highly recommended!
It's really astonishing how good that model looks with these paints and techniques!

I seriously enjoyed this video, would love some more done in this format showing off tech with the speed paint.
This was an excellent, informative, and entertaining video-I’d love to see more of these!!!
I need those 2.0 paints!! Really love TAP and their range of paints… I would love to paint like Thomas 😅
I fell in love with AP paints from the advanced chaos knight tutorial (my knights look amazing) and plan on getting the whole speedpaint range. Please make more of these videos!
Would love to see a tips & tricks video on weathering, grime in a post acocalyptic world, e.g. Max mad etc.
Popsicle part was amazing
Had the original and just ordered the 2.0 set, can't wait to try these techniques out! Never would have thought to use Speed Paint like that.

Looks awesome!
Love this video! I hope to see more tips, tricks and ideas for using the new speedpaint, including different colour schemes 😊
I love what you did with the skin. Even though it is called speed paint, it worth to do it slower on multiple layers to achieve greater effects.
Great video. Looks good.
Just got my complete set speedpaint 2.0 . I love this miniature ❤ . Wil try the tips 🖌️🖌️💪💪
A great SFG mini ... still not finished mine ;)
Wow, I’ll have to try these tricks
I have been an Army Painter fan since they came onto the Market way back in the day!
Ive been having fun putting speedpaints over different undercoats. Like putting brown over an under oat of khaki or a dark red over an undercoat of light red
Hair shading was such an amazing tip
Oh no! The hands! The humanity!
Great video, and really great looking paint job!

Great video and great paint job
Thanks Thomas! Great video!
Good stuff, thank you!
gosh this miniature looks awesome
Excellent ideas! Any chance we can watch the full painting process of this mini?

Amazing work! Loving the videos, can't wait to see more of them.... there will be more, won't there????? :D
Very nice and usefull video. Thank you!
I greatly enjoy using Speedpaint! I haven't tried the 2.0 ones, but I've cleared hundreds of backlog with Speedpaint.
Excellent vid. More please
Awesome video and some great tips to use🤟
Great job.
Champagnebrus for the win….!
Thx for sharing👍👍
Good luck to your race to the 100k. 💪💪
Loving the blue beard
Whoa whoa whoa, pistachio cream pop?!
Would love to see a vidéo with the pastel speedpaint, i bought all colors
“It’s about to get NUTS!” i love them
Love your how to video's team -- Keep it up!!!
Y’all should hit up eons of battle. He kills it with your product
They are friends!
Very good, very nice
What paints/techniques did you use to make the ax shaft? Looks very nice ;)
I think the video should have shown the moment where Thomas lost his hair, since he had hair in the beginning, but not in the end of this video :D
This is so dopeeee
Revisiting this 6 months later... Were those unlabelled bottles on Thomas's desk fanatic paints? XD
@TheArmyPainter don’t you think it’s time that you create the best airbrush primer for speed paints? (And one for the new Warpaints). 😊
Hi looks good. Would you recommend any colours for the texturing then glaze technique for a blue denim jean look ?
Nice!
I'm gonna admite, speedpaint does saved my ass painting miniatures. I'm just a starter painting miniatures and speedpaint helped me a lot painting my minis.
3:12 Is that Fanatic prototypes I spy there in the background?… 😉
Thanks, it helps a lot!! Btw is Thomas a Duergar?

I've learned a lot from this video, but I still struggle to find a good pistachio cream.
Thanks
Thanks for the chance of winning. T' a great giveaway good luck
really cool techniques. but couldnt you also just use a (insane) detail brush instead of a brush for the texture?
Question, the brush that came with the "Most Wanted 2.0" where does that brush fit in the line up? can it be used for detail work or should i consider a finer brush?
Does a Speedpaint mega set come with a free Thomas?
We'll negotiate it with Thomas and see what he says ;)
Which paint was used for the wooden axe handle?
I tried zenithal / slapchop priming and found I didn't get much more detail versus just using a single white Matt primer. My minis are more colorful without the zenital / slapchop. Plus, it's one less step to do in the prep work!

what speedpaint was used on the axe handle?
When speed painting a miniature primed in Matt white one can correct mistakes with Matt white paint. How does one do that zenithal method
Speedpaints + Speedpaint Medium are basically super easy glaze for people who struggle with right amount of water/paint ratio. Just like me. 😅
Im looking for brush on primers. As the once i tried are too thin and rly ment for airbrush..
can i drybrush with speedpaint colors or only with acrylics?
You'll definitely want to stick with acrylics for drybrushing :)
What primer is this spray?
could you please tell me what is equivalent of banshe brown color in new series of warpaints fanatics?

“It’s about to get NUTS!”
"It's about to get NUTS!"
huge giveaway!
WOW
Is wet pallete still no go with speedpaints 2.0?
We don’t recommend it as over-hydrating Speedpaint.
Where the hell you going to pistachio creampop I want one
speed paint c'est 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Did it bother anyone else to see the axe moving when doing the blood on it?
Sorry but all I learned is that pistachio ice pops exist and I need to have one.
he missed the buckles
Seeing so much paint on the palette go to waste hurts the soul 😢
No paint was wasted in the making of this video.
