Are my faworite lines in all of Starcraft.
Simply put, them Protoss are the most advanced and powerful beings in that universe, but they do also share the same pain as humans have. Artanis once told Swann that they Protoss are no different with Terrans. Thanks to Raynor's involvement with Tassadar and Zeratul's journey, these two races became good friends.
I would not say friends more like enemies with benefits.

Technically the friendship only was between Artanis and Raynor, once Raynor was out of the picture it was pretty much a neutral relationship between the two races, hell Fenix in HOTS has a quote going along the lines of "If only there were other Terrans as bold as James Raynor"
Second most advanced race, most advanced race that still alive.
(since we don't know how advanced Earth actually is. They could at the same level as the Terran or they could centuries ahead of them)
@@lostShadowLord If the UED was any indication, the only field they're clearly more advanced it is remote surveillance. The Korprulu Sector Terrans have more exposure to alien technology and biology, and have a number of unique innovations. Remember that teenage Egon-esque character from Wings of Liberty who devises new units and abilities from observing Protoss crystals and Zerg biomatter.

Those are not reverse knees. Those are ankles. Protoss are digigrade stance bipedal. The ball of the foot is most of the "foot" while the "heel/ankle" is what most people think are reverse knees. This misconception persists in many other fictional characters like werewoves.

Actually, I _think_ Protoss may indeed have double knees. Or at least they don't seem to be true digitigrades.
If you look at the art at 2:45, their feet have heels that rest against the ground, meaning they don't exclusively walk on their digits. And while it's hard to tell for sure, the bone structure and musculature of the "ankle" looks a lot more like that of a proper lower leg on a plantigrade. This all seems like deliberate design choices since a decent creature designer would know how digitigrade anatomy works.
So, ironically, Protoss look like digitigrades but apparently aren't. And keep in mind that these are fictional aliens, so their anatomy doesn't need to correspond to that of any terrestrial life form.

Protoss have 3 “toes”. Two that face forward, one that faces backwards, where there would be a joint like an ankle.
You can see clearly on dark templars, since they wear very little armour.
However I think they changed the design by sc2

Also an interesting detail is that the general that helped the dark templars hide was Adun. That's why he was highly regarded by the dark templars. The phrase "Adun toridas" they often say is a greeting meaning "May Adun grant you sanctuary/May Adun hide you"

If you out an incredibly powerful and feared threat who is on your own team with the promise that you will help slay it, the main thought is to just kill the immediate threat.
After the death of Overmind, Kerrigan managed to convince most of her enemies that with the death of Overmind, its influence is gone (and its true) and she converted, which was a lie.

I know his name is spelled the same as Amon from Korra, but Amon in Starcraft is pronounced Ey-mawn.
Also, Narud is also Xel'Naga (or at least claims to be).

No I know there was collaborations and influences, but I think the Protos have their own uniqueness and very beautiful style to them.
The curious thing is that they are not like the Eldar, they share the concept of fictional races, yes, but they are not Eldar as a whole, and 40k is not the most original if you know how it was created.
I hope there will be videos on the other 2 factions. Especially since the Protoss are this interesting

You forgot Adun, He was the Executor who protected the Nerazem form the conclave when they where still on Aiur.
The second Overmind was on Char not Aiur.
Its Daelaam as in Day-Laam.
the combat against Amon on Aiur was after the protoss and Zerg alliance.

At 15:10 you state the new overmind was being birthed on Aiur which is incorrect. The new overmind was being birthed on Char when the cerebrate Daggoth merged with other renegade cerebrates to form the new overmind.

Ahhh, are you referring to the famous fake wh fan forum that the majority of the fandom believed without even having investigated? Yes, it is stupid to assume that 40k and fantasy are original universes since they are not, 40k was born as a parody of everything famous in the 80s and copied and pasted elements of fantasy to the space, regarding fantasy it was inspired by several works and a lot of the history of the world, GW did not create any concept of fiction to say "ohh yes they were copied, they were copied" like the ignorant people who are the majority of the fandom. There was never a contract between both companies and the curious thing is that both were inspired by the same works and even different ones for their universes. Be informed correctly for next time and yes, the arguments they usually give are very stupid.

If the Protoss are failures in purity of form, does that mean humanity are the success due to their lack of tampering by Amon?
If Amon tampered with the protoss after the xel naga had already seeded, then it was only Amon who deemed them failures.
The terrans weren't even in the running of being considered, with kerrigen being an exception because of her overmind tampering to free the Zerg from Amon, being not part of amons tampering. Seems like the overmind just wanted the psychic abilities to severe the psychic chains of Amon, but couldn't get it's hands on a protoss psychic, so settled for a human psychic.
So no? The infested terran hybrid might have been purity of essence... Thru kerrigen queen of blades, but idk if that's a good thing for terrans.
Her being the next xel naga actually makes little sense aside from needing to finish a story.
It seems like it. Also, it's likely only the Primal Zerg that have Purity of Essence.
If we go by what happened.
"Purity of form" seems to just necessitate psyonic power, which kerrigan has, but she is an exception, the same can't be said for humanity as a whole. Once she got turned into a zerg, she attained purity of essence aswell, so other ghosts *should* be able to turn into xel'naga, if they got zergified like kerrigan did, but humanity as a whole, no.

protoss legs are not reversed, theyre simply, digitigrade, their ankles are long and what you see as foot are actually their toes.

I didn't like how there was a mismatch between Protoss lore and the storyline. Basically the Protoss are ALREADY at the Xel'Naga level but due to certain flaws led to them not performing up to par. Both in story and in-game the Protoss were written as a 3rd race, but they really are not - let me elaborate. I would have re-written Starcraft with a TWIST - the Xel'Naga were Protoss the whole time. THIS also satisfies the purity of form criteria. So essentially the tentacle-faces or the final Xel'Naga design didn't matter - their faces opened up and inside were Protoss. They would never die - like how Tolkien Elves went to Valinor and could still return. This would require some reworking of the Khala - so the downloading of memories to robots was just an inferior replication of what they could achieve.
This approach would have saved all the brainstorming needed to come up with Xel'Naga - so they were just Protoss with expanded powers and could even utilize Hybrids as weapons. Yep - basically Hybrids are just Zerg with expanded powers. So there you have it - my version of things - Xel'Naga were really Protoss and Hybrids were just augmented Zerg.
ehh no, wtf, it is said that to be a xelnaga you need both purities and combined you can be a shepherd of the universe, also the protoss are not at the level of the xelnaga since they are literally the creators of the universe, the protoss will be able to transpose things, create void holes and other things but they do not form and deform reality like the Xelnaga would do. Regarding the hybrids, they were not zerg but only hunters of their master Amon. Furthermore, they do not function as a hive mind or do they adapt to every change in the battle.
How do they say so many words incorrectly when all they have to do is play SC to find out the correct pronunciation?

So, I re wrote the Protoss physiology because its complete ass. They still look the same but this time it actually works (in I sci-fi kind of way) the blizzard description is horrendous.

@@OljeiKhan glad you asked… if they only consume sunlight and negligible amounts of water for sustainable then they couldn’t possibly have a physical form. What are their bodies made of? If they don’t have the material for a body then they can’t possibly produce the cells required for procreation (sperm & egg cells) devs said they procreate sexually with male and female reproductive organs. This can’t work if they only eat pure energy. I address many other problems as well.
....so basically starcraft is just 40k lite.
Ehhh no, it is a more logical universe where exaggeration and unreliable narrative do not govern, and it is not as full of contradictions and errors as it is. Wh, the curious thing is that Starcraft, since it does not have an unreliable narrative, is stronger than 40k. .

I know it's been a year but it's not pronounced that way.
Yup, StarCraft 2 is not even a blizzard game. Yes it may be written blizzard but just look at it:
1. the story telling is not in the style of blizzard
2. Jim Raynor is not the same person that we all know and love, he is not even speaking the way he used to be
3. the gameplay (the way you control your units) is at best the same as the original SC. Instead of improving it by giving you more precise control of the sub-groups and the spellcasting units in a group/sub-group, they didn't even tried to improve it - playing it safe by not taking chances to improve your products in order to make them better, is not a sign of a blizzard product
4. the art work is not designed by blizzard, it's different somehow
This game is made by activision who bought blizzard, and they've just put the name of our beloved developer on the label in order to deceive us, to make us buy it.
Also i don't really like games that require you to have an internet connection in order to play them. This is sign of a bad game, and that you don't really own it.
