@@thelaststylebender9326 I ended up going with the B550-E. Funny thing is, I've been gaming over Wi-Fi ever since! I'm an old school gamer and had no idea such a thing was feasible with modern equipment. So pinging in the low teens!

Update: we heard from ASUS on the B550-E power stages, they told us the following: "They’ve been made by a company called MPS. We don’t have anything public available as they haven’t made it available on their webpages but we’re pushing them to do so." these specifically are MPS MP86992 power stages.

The thing that I do not like is that the B550 F gaming wifi is still relatively expensive compared to some competing b550 boards. But lacks certain features such as post code display, front panel usb c, reinforced ram slots. little things but these should probably be covered considering the steep price for this. Especially when you consider that entry-mid level X570 boards are in a similar price bracket

Regarding the Clear Cmos issue, just do what Bulldzoid does, connect the reset button wire to the clear cmos jumper. If OC:ing it's more essential to have clear cmos than reset, and you can do reset by holding the power button long enough anyway.

In its price range, definitely has some competition, but I was able to grab a b550f wifi II on sale for $189. Although it might lack a few minor things vs x570 I cared more about aesthetics for my White case/Black hardware build. He talks about 30-40 pound prices differences between x570 and B550 like you could actually get an x570 board for less than double the pre-Covid-19 price tag. Me over here, I sold my MSI X570 ACE with its disappointing VRM for $600 used on ebay (I paid 300 new) and picked up a a B550-F. a month later I can say The VRM on the B550 Is better where it matters like "cough" latency. as is the gaming performance. Maybe its only given me an extra FPS or two but at least I recuperated my money I wasted on the X570 ace not knowing the VRM in most of MSI's X570 boards was shit for ryzen 3000 CPU's Edit: this was still a good review and i subscribed.

I've got a question that maybe you'll be able to answer! I have a Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming, a Ryzen 5 5600X and for now a GTX1660Super (Planning on getting a RTX3070Ti down the road), MY PSU is a Corsair RM650 and it only has the 8pins to 4+4pins but the motherboard has a 8+4pin entry. I've read that it will work more than fine with only the 8pins and the other 4 are only requiered for hard overclocking. Altough this might be true, is there any way to get a cable to expand another 8pins to 4+4pins to connect to the remaining slot?

I didn't know the "target" audience for x570 all liquid nitrogen users, not that they need all the extra usb 3 and pci-e lanes while they crank up the frequency.....
Anyways, target audience for a board over $200 10 years ago was enthusiast, hardly anyone would be half-witted enough to pay the lunatic prices of boards these days....
    Example, Crosshair V was affordable...

I've got the ASUS ROG b550-F - my PSU only has the 8 pin power connector, it doesn't have a 4 pin + 8 pin, will that affect the board in anyway? The manual states not to connect the 4 pin connector alone but nothing about just connecting the 8 pin??
