  • Magnesium is incredibly important for thyroid function and, unfortunately, most thyroid patients aren't getting enough.
This is for 3 main reasons:
    1. Thyroid dysfunction increases magnesium breakdown and excretion.
In other words, thyroid problems promote the elimination of magnesium from your body.
    2. Stress increases magnesium usage.
Because thyroid dysfunction makes you more susceptible to stress, thyroid patients have a higher demand for magnesium compared to the average population.
    3. Most people aren't getting enough magnesium from their diet (about 80% or so).
This has to do with the fact that magnesium is commonly found in plants and most thyroid patients are eating too much processed food.
How can you fix this problem?
By getting more magnesium from your diet and by taking additional magnesium supplements as needed.
The three best magnesium supplements for hypothyroidism are...
    1. Magnesium glycinate.
    2. Magnesium citrate.
    3. Magnesium l-threonate.

For some hypothyroid patients, mg supplimentation raises their TSH. From my experience mg works only if our vitamin D3, iron and vitamin B1 levels are adequate. Else magnesium supplimentation can backfire.

After I searched the internet I could understand that magnesium is required to activate thiamine and vice versa. So for people low in both supplementing with only one could be a problem.

Not only vitamin D, you need Vitamin K2 to help that vitamin D get into the proper place. Found that out over years of just taking vitamin D and it not working. So I researched and found out I needed the K2 as well.

Great information, I have hypothyroidism and have been looking for the right Magnesium to try out. I eat Spinach, Pumpkin, Chia Seeds, Almonds, Black Beans, Bananas, Avocados, and Salmon but not every day. Will try MGC, and possibly MC, thanks again !

Ahh tummy twin! So I think it’s definitely worth a go. I might try the supplement. Usually I try to get it in diet… homemade protein bar/ball… just chuck in all your favourites…. Have it as the brunch snack - pre lunch! Get the gut in order. I have done this for over 10 yrs now.
Also if u can add chia ball to foods is way better that just eating them seeds as sprinkles…. By activating the gel out of the seed prior to adding to foods really pushes up the absorption of the gel in the gut lining. Also look at coconut oil🙏🏼. Same idea great for gut giving better food energy signature results.
      Good luck 🤞
