I honestly didn't expect to see our mod here, only believed it when I got spammed with the video by 5 different persons lol. It was really satisfying to see the unit being used mostly as we wanted it to behave (except that little bug with the PL lol). As the one who coded all the off-map support of the unit, I must say, you did the right thing when running away from both the mortar and the A10, they have a much bigger dispersion than one might think at first.
Objective in mission briefing asked to sweep the buildings for intels, as well. But proceeds to bombard and raise down the buildings 😂 Thx for another good Door kicker videos, it’s a rare opportunity to hear sit reps in certified operator‘s POV :)

I didn't expect a video on our mod to be honest, especially not an hour long one. :) Seems like you had a lot of fun with it. :D Regarding the platoon structure not being quite accurate, we had squad leaders, and a full weapons squad early on in development, but we quickly realized it was too cluttered, and we had to make some sacrifices in realism for the sake of not having redundant units(Gonna get shit from some SL now). If you've checked out the SF faction, that's why they're 6 strong, not 12 strong. ;) We also have an additional uniform addon that works with AnthonyNonStop's Camo Selector mod if you're into more in depth military Barbie. :)

Most promising DK2 mod, recently they added a new Green Beret Special Forces Advisors unit. You can use both SOF guys and the militia they're training. Another mod I recommend is the one that adds MARSOC Marine Raiders (they can use close air support) and the Retro Delta Force in IOV
@@stra815 Nexusmods, my recommendation is to use their Vortex mod loader tool though, since I tried to do it myself first and couldn't make it work, but the loader tool ended up doing it right the first time.

I have personally been diving into the DK2 mods recently myself and I am happy to say that after watching Pairs use and explain doctrine through this mod and mission that I confidently know nothing! I constantly rewatch your older DK2 videos so I was instantly hooked once I saw a new one appear featuring some larger scale tactics, it's exactly what I have been personally learning and exploring so this was amazing to watch. Excited for the next ones!
Great to finally see some DK2 mods on this channel. Modders as usual prove how important they are at adding variety and new, interesting mechanics to play with. I can recommend MARSOC and CIA Ground Branch mods. Also I'd love to see you try United States Armed Forces mod - I think it'd be interesting to see for a change some regular forces like US Army or Marines.

Yeah, those are also really cool. Though I *may* have committed a few warcrimes with the AN/M14 incendiary grenades that the CIA GRS from the ground branch mod get. Just sending them in with pistols and seven (!) grenades each, dumping a bunch of fire at every location where an enemy might be. I've had missions where I never even saw a single enemy.
Super pumped for the full release of this game. I really hope this game does well for KillHouse and they go on for years and years to make some of the best tactical games out there
First KIA was very stupid, tbh. You just send 2 men into kill zone, when you knew it was under enemy controll. Somehow, with help of God, one of them survived, and you just dropped building by A-10. You are nice commander, because in reality someone will send two more men into this kill zone

Pre-comment spellcheck: I should specify "SF" as in "Sustained Fire". I am indeed special, just not that kind of special.
Ok, if mortars aren't in vanilla DK2, I feel like that would be a good update go get, and JTAC, I mean they are used with special operations I assume, I know JTAC is, mortars I can't say as I have no experience or knowledge. But those kind of seem like something that would be a base mechanic in the game. I can also see why they aren't though, especially for certain maps.

I can't get any of the mods to work. I picked this up on Steam a while back, and have been playing the vanilla version and I love it. Tried adding mods to switch some things up, but none of them will work. Anyone got any tips on how to get these mods to function correctly?
What a weird nade placement. I don't get it - why don't you throw them into the middle of fortified area or a room but instead you toss them under the wall? What's the point of that?

I left some instructions under the pinned comment, but I'll leave some here too. I'm not sure what step you're at, so I'll hit ya with a full step-by-step, just in case anyone else might also need it; 1 - download Project ARES from the Nexus (as well as whatever optional add-ons you want - I recommend all of them lol) 2 - install your mods (either manually into a mod folder or thru Vortex - I use Vortex because I can't be arsed with manual installation most of the time) 3 - boot up DK2, click the little mod manager button in the bottom right corner of the main menu screen (there should be four, click 2nd from left IIRC) 4 - activate the mods, confirm & click restart 5 - after restart is done, check squads menu; you should see the new Rangers (and new Green Berets if you downloaded that too) 6 - full send Hope you got some stars saved up for the unlocks, brotha! Lol
I always thought you were being too extra with the amount of rear security you kept pulling in past videos, having someone cover every angle no matter how unlikely...now I see why!

When I used ARES mod for the first time, I never looked back at vanilla version. It's so nice.

You should try this custom campaign called “The Steely-Eyed Stare”, they got some pretty hectic and hard, but fun missions.
