- Want to know which ICON Stage is right for you? Tune in with Scott from ICON Vehicle Dynamics as he explains the philosophy behind our complete suspension systems and answers some of the most commonly asked questions.
Open letter to IVD: simply saying the lower-end stages are "entry-level" whereas the higher-end stages are for "higher performance" ... that's not helpful at all. What WOULD be helpful is to explain, for example, why someone might want a stage 3 instead of a stage 2 (like, provide a real-world example where having the extra parts in a stage 3 would actually make a huge difference)... maybe provide some real-world driving examples where one would definitely want a particular stage. Focusing on "how much" someone wants to spend suggests that there really is no meaningful difference (in terms of ride) between your products.
"We know it can sometimes be confusing to tell the differences from one stage to another...."
Sounds like a design and marketing problem. Probably should have a performance review of those people responsible for making it this wya instead of putting it on your customers to just "look at the list of parts" and figure it out.
Damn. Wish I would have seen this 2 weeks ago. Got talked in to a stage 9 which is overkill but will be Awesome. I'll just be broke.
Jeff W. Lmao awesome
How is that stage 9 on road?
I have a 2021 F250. It would be great to know the capabilities of this suspension systems. Front and rear - what is the towing capacity? If I swap the front coils or coil over and rear leafs. Thanks
I have a 2018 F250 fx4 6.2L gasser. Haul heavy loads sometimes. 85% on road use. Looking for a better/smoother ride, not to lift the vehicle. Which do you recommend? Thank you.
Good afternoon everyone! I have a 2019 ram 1500 classic Eco diesel. I do some offroad to go ride dirt bikes and also do a lot of towing for my boats; Which product do you recommend?
Best suspension for a daily driver, no off-road, 2021F-150 4X4
Which is better suspension kings or icons? I'm interested in both but i want the best ride quality on and off-road
king is the top of the top... Icon is a great product and a lot more affordable
Hi so i have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma with 55k miles on it!! So i was def looking at putting a lift on it… i was told by Billstein lifts that the stage 2 would work fine on my truck..? Its a 2013 Tacoma 2wd Prerunner.. im looking for the better look and good ride quality.. would the stage 2 be a good kit???
I have a 2020 Toyota Tundra 4x4, TRD OFF-ROAD. It is currently intended to be a daily driver, hauler, and overlander, with very little rock climbing. Which stage would be best? I would like to have a 3" lift win either 33's or 35's.
Did you decide on a suspension? I’m deciding on my suspension for my ‘20 Tundra as well
@@jmladdy I have not. I've been stationed in Japan for the past year, so my truck is with my family. I have not done any suspension upgrades yet until I get back to the states.
Why is it that Icon does not make the Lower Control Arms?
What stage should I buy tundra 2wd 2018 crew max with leveling kit I got on it light duty off road
Video is titled which one should I buy. All the comments ask which one they need. 😂 They jump from $1k + to $4k+ very quick
Running a 2014 Silverado 4x4 non z71... Mainly use the truck as daily driving to and from work... currently running bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable on front set to highest ring along with the back shocks...
I'm considering lifting to 3 or 4 inch but don't know which lift kit or which stage would be suitable for my need. Help anyone?.
Do I need to purchase new control arms? What are best ones out there? With these icon lifts do I need to purchase aftermarket parts along with it?.
Do these lifts only raise the front end? or is there a rear lift to keep the factory rake?
Hi Icon team! great video. Do you have a support email? i will like to install a stage5 suspension kit on my 2012 F150, and have some questions about it. Also, i cannot find on your website a ¨register¨option, to purshase it. Let me know.
Which stage numbers are consider light off road use and which are consider more off road focused?
Which make/model are you specifically asking about? We'll be able to provide a more detailed response if we know what type of vehicle you're driving. Thanks!
2018 Toyota Tacoma, im trying to set it up as an off road camper. Added weight in the front and back due to bumpers, winch, tent, and other supplies. Not a daily driver, almost exclusively an overland build, will need to be comfortable on road dude to traveling between locations
I'm looking at the Stage 6
The Stage 6 is a wonderful system, but you'll want to change a couple of things to support that extra weight you're running. For your application we recommend the Stage 9 system, it has all of the same components as the Stage 6 but with our full RXT rear leaf spring replacement (and longer RXT rear shocks) as opposed to the add-a-leaf. This will be much more suitable for the additional load on an overland style setup. Also, we recommend a 700lb spring option on the front coilovers. Just be sure to specify that you want the heavier springs when placing an order. Hope this helps, thanks!
On a 2016 and up Tacoma, do the lower stages have less droop than the higher stages? I’m daily driving but I’m doing some more serious off-roading as well.
My truck is pretty bare bones front bumper and high clearance rear bumper, fiberglass fenders and bedsides at the bodyshop for added tire space. None of that overland weight just a daily driven trail rig is what I’m shooting for
If i get the stage 1 kit for my tacoma, will i need differential spacers?
Andrew Nalus no
I'm looking at buying either a stage 8, 9 or 10 but I would like to have a 6"-7" lift. Can you tell me how to go about achieving this with one of your kits? Is there a lift kit you would recommend that works well with your suspensions? Thanks!!!
Hey Zach,
before we provide a more detailed response, which vehicle do you drive? Tacoma? Tundra?
@@iconvehicledynamicstv I drive a 2016 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crewmax
@@MaxDissent We do not provide a lift that tall for your application. The common way of getting 6+ inches of lift on a Tundra is by using a drop bracket lift, which involves major modifications (like cutting out a frame crossmember) to the vehicle. These drop bracket lifts also severely limit the amount of available compression travel causing poor ride quality, handling, and performance.
If you decide to use another manufacturer's taller lift system we can always provide extended length shocks for that application, just know that the performance of the vehicle will be drastically reduced compared to using one of our "off the shelf" staged systems. Thanks!
@@iconvehicledynamicstv I see. Ok thanks for the info. Appreciate it!
Icon staff. I would like to know a cost of adding reservoirs to my kit. I have stage three kit your upper control arms.
Hello,
Please contact your local ICON dealer (or the ICON Sales team at 951-689-4266) for pricing info about adding reservoirs to your current shocks. Thanks!
Did you ever get a quote? I'm curious myself.
It’s All good and all, but sucks when you buy stage 7 suspension and it just rust in 2 years highway driving conditions. Never happened on stock Toyota Tundra! Ever
Hi so I drive a 2013 tacoma and was intrested in lifting my truck my uses for the truck are mainly a daily driven and occasionally off road trails, which stage would you recommend? Thanks.
major bu2 stage 1 basic, as stated in the beginning of the video.
@@tcma-4x490 so if you have the same truck and basically do the sameeee thing he just talked about the Stage 2 would be more than fine right??
ICON STAFF, I have a 2018 tundra double cab. The truck has a 2” factory rake down in the front. I’m looking at going with the Stage 5 set up. My goal is to lift the front 3” but I want the truck sitting level. Will this stage 5, after installed, have the truck sitting level? Thx
Tundra Whisperer The truck will sit perfectly level I have their stage five kit looks great on my 2016 crew Max.
AJ Ferguson seriously?, I’m so glad to hear that! Any chance to see any pictures of yours? Thank you again.
AJ Ferguson what size tires are you running? Thx AJ
I am running 295/70/18 nitto ridge grapplers and 18-9 Scs sr8’s
I’m not good enough with UA-cam to post a photo. I can email you one.
Kylo Ren called and wants his body back
💀💀
Stop dissing icon suspension kilo ren
Scott!!!!!! Awesome video. Time for our team to upgrade to stage 7. Desert is killing us.☁︎ @blkcldUSA
I have saved some money and will jut go to stage 5. Hey, life is short.
So why doesn’t ICON have any brackets to adjust for lift heights...for alignment corrections.
The front diff will change angles
The rear axle changes alignment
BDS includes several brackets and spacers to correct this
Why doesn’t ICON
All I see is link extensions ...that’s the least of my worries...these are very pricey. Don’t need to be shaking down the road @70mph
Hello,
Before we can answer your questions, which specific vehicle are you referring to? ICON includes all of the necessary components to improve geometry and correct alignment in all of our complete suspension systems.
2017 Ram 1500
@@knarfluna Brackets or spacers are simply not needed with our suspension systems for that truck. Our upper control arms are engineered to increase caster and provide geometry correction for the new lift height as well as improving the handling characteristics of the vehicle. Increasing the amount of positive caster will aid in straight line tracking, as well as improve high speed stability and cornering effectiveness.
Thanks for not answering the question.
