    @ICON why do I need to buy a $25 adapter for my grease gun after buying several thousand dollars worth of your products? The fact that I have to search for the info on how to grease these in the first place is a bit of a failure as well. I love my suspension, but you could have fostered a great deal of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty by including the needle adapter with every pair of Billet UCA's. I've been meaning to grease mine over the past three weekends and I cannot find the adapter locally so I guess I need to order yours.
    At this price point and your place in the market, You can do better.

      I 100% agree, it would also be nice for them to recommend what type of grease, I had an idea, you think no worries I will read the instructions, nope, sorry not there either. I had to search youtube to confirm. SMH and I had to read the comments in the video for them to confirm it.

    nice product
    it would have been good to make the gasket and screws captured by the dust cover - small loose parts are a no-no

    What size is that zert? Needs to replace to a standard zert since the needle one sucks.

      1/4-28 Zerk . The straight still fits snug under the cover with the rubber seal.

    Just been doing a little more research after installing these on my F150.
    I’m curious: the ball of the joint has grease grooves that allow the joint to hold grease (possibly other reasons as well). These grooves travel to the bottom of the ball and are exposed to the elements on the underside at certain angles. Is this not a pathway for dust to enter? I was wondering when I first saw this why a little boot wasn’t designed into the mix.
    There seems to be, at least in the ‘16 F150 version, enough space along the tapered rod (for lack of knowledge of a better word) that inserts into the knuckle to allow for some sort of mini boot there. I suppose a boot would pinch.
    Given I drive nearly entirely gravel, I’m curious to see the longevity of these, and will be tripling the recommended grease change frequency, along with every other regularly scheduled maintenance item:/
    My second question relates to the attachment joints at the frame. Heim joints I think they’re called. It seems the joints are not parallel to each other. ie one seems a bit twisted compared to the other. Is this due to my bad installing “techniques” or nothing to worry about?
    Love em so far by the way, especially in combination with my new @elkasuspension shocks. Fun! And smooth. 👍

      you are 100% right about the grease grooves, they allow dirt to be imported under the very cheap rubber seal...I have not been getting good life from the delta joint, very unhappy for the price....switching over to SPC UCA or possible BDS with the moog joints

      They're for re-installing the billet dust cap on tubular UCA's. Billet UCA's don't need them, and some tubular UCA's didn't come with dust caps and therefore don't need them.

    Can the standard low profile grease fitting be replaced with a Zerk fitting? And do you have to use the Icon Needle Grease Adapter?

    • @Adam_K_W
      @Adam_K_W 2 роки тому +3

      I have the same question, but looking at the height, the dust cover isn't deep enough to fit over a standard zerk. You could probably buy a standard fitting, swap it to grease the joint with a regular grease gun, then swap it back before putting the cover back on, but that's a pain to do and you might strip something out. Probably better to just bite the bullet and get the adapter.

    For the Bushings on the tubular arms should you loosen the bolts before greasing or can you grease them with everything tightened?

    So, just to verify, do not jack up the vehicle at all? Grease at ride height sitting on the ground? I've had trouble getting grease into the joint but I was lifting it; maybe that was my issue.

    • @iconvehicledynamicstv
      @iconvehicledynamicstv  3 роки тому +2

      Correct, you want to have the vehicle at ride height (sitting under it's own weight) so that the angle of the Delta Joint is not as severe, this allows room for grease to flow into/around the joint. If you need more details please contact us directly via email sales@ivdmail.com. Thanks!
