82' Trans Am... two 12" 800w subs in a custom box... Used to bump this all OVER the Bay Area...S.F., Oakland, Vallejo, San Jose... the good old days...lol
First time hearing this song in 30 years and I still remember the lyrics. Had this blastin out of my 14 inch Rockford Fonsgates's in a speaker box in my 82 Honda Civic. Hell yeah.
I grew up in Miami, heard all the Miami Bass tracks that made national headlines. I actually played this track in my 1990 Mazda B2000 pickup extended cab with four 18" Rockford Fosgate subs powered by 2500 watts. I blew out two windshields and pissed off hundreds of people on the street and the Fort Lauderdale strip!
This Jam was the Shhhiiiit.! In high school We used 2 have Dance routines with our moves & Blast this Song on our Boomboxes!!! This track STILL gets me Hyped, & makes my wanna Dance.. Still.!! Yes, A Definite Classic. Thanx 4 this vid & a Dope job too on the graphix.!!!
Just spent the weekend with Derek at a freestyle concert. He kicked major azz. He said it had been some time since performing live,be he really enjoyed it and so did the crowd in the I.E. San Bernardino CA.
My friends and i had a synchronized skate routine we would bust out at the roller rink when this jam came on. Man this takes me back to blowing my money at Merry Go Round on 2-for-$50 I.O.U sweatshirts and Cavariccis..
Reminds me of the weekends spent crusin' Fort Lauderdale Strip! I LOVED those times. Thanks for the memories. Sadly, they changed the Strip so you can't cruise it like we used to. It is a shame. Kept us all out of trouble and we had a blast.
Omg!!! I forgot about this one!! Somehow it just popped into my head right now and I found it Thank you for posting this!! 😁😎🎵 I use to jam to this back in Bama!
this was the last REAL hip-hop single! after this, everything was freakin' gangsta crap, booty rap and effing techno! after this, you never heard a DJ on a track. thanks for sharing. i'll be adding it to my funky beats playlist eventually.
that's what i'm talking about. to me, 2LC is new jack. as to afro rican, i have the 12" and consider THAT to be the last REAL hip-hop disc & it takes 2 & the humpty dance were the last gasps before clubs were polluted by freakin' technotoronic, snap & C+C music factory. i STILL hold a grudge against house music for starting that ball rollin' and think there should be a death penalty for ANY techno head that dares use the word funky. (or at least spank them REALLY REALLY hard for a few weeks)
new jacks. never liked tone loc and i consider the other two more or less one hit wonders, but young MC's lesser known "i let 'em know" instrumental is rockin'. the REAL post new jack hip-hop is C2C, giant panda & the ninja tunes crowd in my opinion
i don't know that artist, but i've never liked MCs. i've hated rap since rappers delight. the first 12" i bought was "it's like that" so i could hear run DMC STFU on the instrumental... which they didn't and really only like one eric b tune... chinese arithmatic because rakim isn't on it.
i hate rap. i used to have a youtube channel with about 300 rare grooves no-one else had posted. pretty much every one of them was an instrumental, just like my current funky beats playlist.

Holy shit this is like the entirety of Fergalicious...
I guess the producers took the sampling of this song, because this song came out 10 years before Fergalicious
Do you like Fergalicious? Personally, I enjoy both songs and how much of this song was used in that song.
Yo..!! its more like it's been Over 20+ Years PRIOR to (the Bite/sample/Stealing/borrowing/whatevahh.) of Fergalicious.
I never knew that fergielicious sampled this song until recently
Original song is James Brown “Night Train”
Damn! This took me back to the late 80's!! Good Times!!!!
