Iron Crown and Primarina as AV users definitely pair well, and using tera poison primarina you can nearly always beat Darkrai and Iron Crown can provide momentum to primarina, check special attackers and stops some hazard leads. It is kinda cool to see two AV users that pair fairly well this gen. Lots of good balance mons this gen that honestly would thrive in meta without waterpon and kyurem threatening balances all the time.

I wanna say thank you because ever since you first mentioned to build a progress making core before a defensive one in your video about common mistakes when building I've been doing so much better both on ladder and in tournaments, I've even matched into you a couple of times on ladder I believe we're 1-1, I thought I was doing well before but I would flop so many teams because of that mistake and it was frustrating. recently I've made this team with tealpon which peaked at 1945 and won me a couple of tournament games already, though I did tilt quite a bit on ladder after the peak so I wanted to see if there's still anything wrong you'd change or if it's just bad laddering habits Ogerpon (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Defiant Tera Type: Grass EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Ivy Cudgel - Swords Dance - Encore - Low Kick Slowking-Galar @ Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Regenerator Tera Type: Water EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD Sassy Nature IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe - Future Sight - Chilly Reception - Ice Beam - Thunder Wave Great Tusk @ Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Protosynthesis Tera Type: Steel EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Headlong Rush - Ice Spinner - Knock Off - Rapid Spin Raging Bolt @ Choice Specs Ability: Protosynthesis Tera Type: Fairy EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 20 Atk - Volt Switch - Thunderclap - Draco Meteor - Thunderbolt Alomomola @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Regenerator Tera Type: Fairy EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Relaxed Nature IVs: 0 Spe - Chilling Water - Flip Turn - Wish - Protect Garganacl @ Leftovers Ability: Purifying Salt Tera Type: Fairy EVs: 252 HP / 52 Def / 204 SpD Careful Nature - Stealth Rock - Salt Cure - Recover - Protect The main idea is having probably the most reliable encore in the game thanks to a permanent free speed boost with tera on tealpon with mola glowking which struggles most with setup. The only 2 matchups I've struggled with are bulky tera fairy plot ghold and fast tera normal sd gliscor. I originally had kyurem over bolt but bolt gives me a little bit better of a matchup vs ghold and darkrai while relying less on tusk to spin rocks away and providing an offensive pivot and strong priority; the ghold matchup is still rough tho since with tera fairy tusk can't really revenge kill it reliably and it threatens pretty much the whole team, as for gliscor it's a very similar situation, tho ecore does help vs it but oger has to be played very precisely (that or I'm just bad at positioning). One option I considered for ghold is tera water over fairy on garg but I felt like the better pult, valiant, zamazenta, meowscarada and waterpon matchup was too valuable, especially as otherwise my only way to resist dragon is tera on offensive mons which can be unreliable

@@pinkacross2042 that’s fair! I’ve been trying to replace Moltes-G to make it more of a balance team haven’t found much success, but won’t give up hope!
Thank you pink bug, I used to flounder and have a very flimsy step, I had no spine, clumsy even somebody could say, but after watching this video I found my balance and now I walk with a pep in my step and from my showdown ELO account I found a fresh plus 200 ELO. Amazing video ‼️ unsubscribed ⭐
Pinkacross, how do you establish that one pokemon is viable, reliable and isn't a hit or miss? Like kingambit is obviously a reliable pokemon, but is meloetta? And would meloetta count as viable, as it has brought me some success (not a lot of outright kills but support for other breakers)
Depends on the set. Some sets of Kingambit aren't reliable, some are. HDB Dragapult is reliable, CB less so, Dragon Dance even less so. If you're not sure, just try using it and see how consistent it is in practice.
@@pinkacross2042 So zamazenta, would it count as a 'consistent' mon cause of the fact I can get wins with it, or an 'inconsistent' mon because my teams without proper zama support can end up 5mon teams?
I want to make a team around specs sylveon (yeah i know its outclassed by enamorous but it is still viable in theory). Lando t seems like a pretty decent breaking core right? its physical so it deals with special walls like blissey, the stab earthquakes deal with poison, fire and steel types that resist my hyper voice. thoughts?
I don't think you're grasping the concept of a breaking core, I'll try to explain. If your opponent couldn't switch, then yes, Landorus + Sylveon would be fantastic. Your opponent won't just let their Blissey and Glowking die to Earthquake. Ssuppose you have your Specs Sylveon in. Your opponent has a Glowking. You switch in Lando as they switch in Glowking. You got the play... but then your opponent switches in Corviknight. Individually, these pokemon can be walled, and they do nothing to wear down each other's checks. Either try to punish Glowking with something more difficult to swap into than Landorus, or add a pokemon that forces chip damage on Sylveon's checks.
@@pinkacross2042 ah I see (haven't teambuilt since gen 8 ou so I'm kinda rusty honestly), main problem is that I don't know ghe meta, any suggestions on the mon to pair with sylveon? I don't even know what half the gen 9 mons even do lol
Would u consider doing a stall-y or less offensive pokemon as your pokemon you build around in one of your next streams. (Not a gimmick build or anything just interested in that side of the process)

I never really build balance, mainly just bo. Today, I decided to go ahead and try to build a balance team (think it went pretty well), then a couple hours later, lo and behold, I look on youtube on this pops up.
you know what? i had this same question this morning thanks for reading my mind, next time i want teambuilding advice please I expect a very specific video explaining it to me :D
Can you make a video on stall, either playing with a good stall or stall building because i feel like if you master stall you can play and have a good chance of winning against any team. Please
Where can I submit teams for you to look at again? I recently built my attempt at a balance team after watching this video and would like to know how it looks from a professional standpoint
@@Oneandonly-xg6iu it’s a joke team, I only added the Pokémon pinkacross wants banned (except glimmora) and webs because on stream pinkacross hates people mentioning webs.
I love specs kyurem but man, I found u need double hazard control cause he takes so much damage from rocks. It would be awesome If u happen to make a specs kyurem vid 👍
Do think Dragonite could operate well on balance? I was building with it and thought it’s defensive value would operate well on certain tusk balance teams. Also-what tusk spread do you generally prefer on balance?
At some point, probably! As for your second question, could you rephrase that? Not sure I understand. Sometimes it is worth leading with a non-hazard pokemon, other times it's best to set hazards up right away, really depends on team MU
@pinkacross2042 when I play a game, I always set up hazard(s) and then proceed the game plan. When i watch other players, they always choose "the best 'leads'" against the opponent because it give them more of then upside/advantage towards them. So I was just curious on what you prefer, leading off with hazards or "more optimal" leads that gives you more advantage? That's all
@@Bigchris314 Sometimes hazards are optimal to get up immediately, other times a non-hazard pokemon puts you in a more advantageous position and you can set hazards later. Certainly you shouldn't be auto-setting hazards at the start of the game, that's definitely not a good habit.

Glad you found this helpful! Thanks for the submission! :]
Yea I agree, Waterpon and Kyu are a huge pain for balance-- Kyu often forces Gking and Waterpon is just a pain
@@pinkacross2042i bully both with scizor and sinistcha to the point where waterpon is useless. kyurem exposes what set it is and i act accordingly.
balance is my favourite archetype along with BO, super informative video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

I've always had trouble adapting my brain to Balance so this was a really nice vid. You can probably guess why I struggle with Balance when you see my team but this is the first team I've had reasonable success with on ladder but I'm still pretty low- about 1500 Elo. I don't know enough about NatDex to provide meaningful feedback, but this looks super cool!
"Build around something viable"
Instructions unclear, started a gen 7 OU Floatzel rain team.
RIP
TL;DR Put Slowking-G on your team.
While Slowking-G is very good on balance, I'd say only about half of balance teams need it.
@@pinkacross2042"only 50% usage rate"
And the other half have lando lmao
@@TrulyAtrocious Kyurem often necessitates Glowking on balance, it's literally the only thing other than Blissey that can switch in more than once without fear of getting KOd.
Wow I was just thinking about how to build a balance team, thank you Pinkacross
You're welcome! :]

I hope it goes well! :]
I will keep going back to this vid everytime i build a team
I hope it helps! :D
I wanna say thank you because ever since you first mentioned to build a progress making core before a defensive one in your video about common mistakes when building I've been doing so much better both on ladder and in tournaments, I've even matched into you a couple of times on ladder I believe we're 1-1, I thought I was doing well before but I would flop so many teams because of that mistake and it was frustrating. recently I've made this team with tealpon which peaked at 1945 and won me a couple of tournament games already, though I did tilt quite a bit on ladder after the peak so I wanted to see if there's still anything wrong you'd change or if it's just bad laddering habits

The main idea is having probably the most reliable encore in the game thanks to a permanent free speed boost with tera on tealpon with mola glowking which struggles most with setup.
I'm so glad I was able to help! Thanks for the submission! :]

Thanks for the helpful videos Pinkacross! Here is my team for a team rating submission. I got the highest I've been on the ladder with this team, but have had some trouble as of late. It struggles against Gliscor, Ogerpon Water, and stall. I think the team suffers with identity, I built it with Bulky Offense in mind, but I don't think Moltres-G really helps as much as I love it so. Thanks for the submission! I must admit I'm not a believer at all in Gmolt balance, but I'll try it at some point.
That's fantastic!
He said unsubbed hes prob gonna get overwelmed by metapod
I would really like to make my flygon team a bit better! It currently struggles against rain teams, any other advice would also obviously be extremely welcome!

Ive been trying to team build for magearna but it just doesnt workkkkk
I built a balance around delphox that i'm really happy about.

Nice! BO is pretty similar to balance as well

Can you make a video on stall, either playing with a good stall or stall building because i feel like if you master stall you can play and have a good chance of winning against any team. Please
Stall is OK in gen 9, definitely not great though. I may cover it at some point
Where can I submit teams for you to look at again? I recently built my attempt at a balance team after watching this video and would like to know how it looks from a professional standpoint
Just send the team here as an importable or send the team to me via my contact info in the description.

I love specs kyurem but man, I found u need double hazard control cause he takes so much damage from rocks. It would be awesome If u happen to make a specs kyurem vid 👍
I think you can get by with just one form of hazard control if the team is fast paced enough-- I may do Kyurem at some point.
Do think Dragonite could operate well on balance? I was building with it and thought it’s defensive value would operate well on certain tusk balance teams. Also-what tusk spread do you generally prefer on balance?
It could work well on balance, but generally I'm not a big fan of it. Inconsistent and very vulnerable to Knock Off and Static, also a bit passive.

Hey my man, in your opinion, is your team tier list still accurate? :)
I would say for the most part yes
What are good teammates for great tusk and galarian slowking?
Pretty much anything, those are some of the highest usage pokemon in the tier.
I have a couple questions, would you do a facecam? Also, do you think leads are important compared to just laying hazards?
For rating teams, do you cover past gens or only current?
Only current, at the moment.
@@pinkacross2042 ah damn, I’ve had a Gen 7 concept OU I wanted to run by you
Hi Pinkacross! If I wanted to run a Pokemon with CM + Agility + Stored Power set, do you think Iron Crown is better or is Latias better?
Depends on the rest of the team, I'd say Latias though for that particular set.
Are you also open to criticise draft teams by any chance?
I've only ever played in one draft (several years ago) but I have helped clients teambuild and prepare for draft recently with success. I may be able to help but I don't expect I'll do a draft team fixing video
Hi I got to my peak with this team but I still feel like there are a lot of wrong things with it lol. Im very new to teambuilding so be as harsh as you can lmao.

Your issue is that you're mixing playstyles, Alo is on the middle of an HO team
You are my fav showdown youtuber please help me build all types of teams and basics
I will be making more guides!
What role would you give zarude in Ou?
Not sure what you mean by role? I suppose my favorite set would be Life Orb Offensive, with BU Jungle Healing Knock Power Whip.
@@pinkacross2042 I see. I meant it’s „Role“ I connection with the team composition. Should I use it as pivot for other attackers? Does he go All-out? Is he any good on more offensive teams? Sorry for the inconvenience.
@@koizumi8226 I would say Zarude is best as a bulky balance-stalbreaker, but to be honest it's not particularly good even at that-- use Tera Ghost to bypass Corviknight, though.
@@pinkacross2042 Ty for explaining it to me :)
When’s the next stream?

Is Iron Crown and Moltres a good core
could work for sure but will be weak to eg stone edge
Yea it can be solid, not a crazy powerful core but there's some synergy there
