AM G first of all, give it a few years and most exotic cars will come with dash cams build in. And a exterior looking dash cam with no sound, i don’t see the issue with that its like the tracker with a video feed
Isn't Rob able to charge the customer for the lost rental income, i.e. loss of use? If so, and it's a car that's typically hired a few days per month, collecting loss-of-use income each day it's sidelined at the repair shop may make it a big earner. Especially nowadays.
I drove a C7 Z06 (I mainly drive a WRX and a truck) and wanted to push the engine a little bit, I made a quick right turn and the car almost lost control due to sheer torque. I then was on a highway and fully accelerated and the wheels broke free when already doing 70mph. The amount of sheer power the Z06 has is scary.
It also helps to 'drive like that' with that level car. You could be all over the place with a 'regular' fast car. Switch up to something at this level or above, with grippy, two-foot wide tires that grip like super-magnets, until suddenly they DON'T... Oook.
One thing I have learned with trying to estimate what it will cost for damage is that it will always cost more than you think. How many times can you count actually being surprised and under the amount you thought? This one will come close to totalling it out. Almost always stuff hidden you can't see.
The thing is you don’t even need to “drive like that”. A lot of people don’t even know how a RWD car handles differently. Let alone a cars limits, whe there the tires are warmed up, etc. All it takes is a split second of lost traction.
I once rented a Boxster from an exotic rental place in Vegas. Got a call the day before saying the previous renter crashed it. I said just put me into any stick shift convertible. Got a free upgrade to a 911.
For the airbags, in some cars, the passenger airbag won't pop up if it does not detect a minimum of weight on the passenger seat. The car would need a whole front end and new front end cooling system. I noticed the right front wheel is not straight too. My guess is a 30k$ damage minimum, the parts seems to be made of fiberglass so more extensive than metal or plastic
There’s probably someone in the chat that already threw a quick parts estimate up but I do wholesale parts for Lexus and unless Chevy is REALLY generous with these replacement parts it could easily be over 20 in parts. Carbon front shell minus the bumper cover (can’t remember if it’s carbon or not) guessing 6-9k each fender, 8-15k for hood. Airbag 900-2k, control unit for airbag 800-1.5k, steering wheel maybe 3k/+. Headlamps I’m thinking 2-3k each, and that’s just the biggest most obvious items before you get into the little things on the front end. And of course the insurance company will be pushing for used parts so these guesses are assuming they get everything new and not additionally discounted for price matching.
I love your videos Rob, always guaranteed to be quality entertainment. Looking forward to seeing the end result for this one, shame it has to impact your bottom $ though. My guess for the repair is $23,000
Rob The passenger side airbag did not deploy because no one was sitting there, when I take passengers in my Trailblazer it will automatically sense when there is a passenger and arm the air bag, and disarm when they get out, just my thoughts, hope it don't cost too much to fix
I know for late-model GM cars (basically within the last 10-15yrs) the front passenger seat (and some models with rear seating) has a weight sensor (I believe the threshold is about 40lbs) so if 'no' weight is detected the airbag won't arm and subsequently won't fire in a frontal impact.

Don't know how you do it. I'd take these wrecks personally like someone beating my kids 😃
All in the game. Similar to me as a chef when I send out what I think is a great dish and a customer rips it to pieces and refuses to pay for it. Cant take it personally, is what it is.
He’s got insurance a cent won’t came out of his pocket why even bother getting mad
Rapido20 more importantly he is using the customer’s insurance if he used his own every time this happened he would be uninsurable
Earth to Rob - that frame rail is toast.
Is there a particular reason why you don’t install dash cameras in your cars?
privacy shits
AM G first of all, give it a few years and most exotic cars will come with dash cams build in. And a exterior looking dash cam with no sound, i don’t see the issue with that its like the tracker with a video feed
@M
No but your monthly premium is lowered substantially if you install cameras because it lowers the liabilities
Hey, on the positive side Rob, at least you are getting rentals right now.
What a business model!😜😜🤪🤪🤯🤯🤯
Isn't Rob able to charge the customer for the lost rental income, i.e. loss of use? If so, and it's a car that's typically hired a few days per month, collecting loss-of-use income each day it's sidelined at the repair shop may make it a big earner. Especially nowadays.
Insurance?
he programs the cars to crash on purpose to set ppl up to pay him :)
I couldn’t stop laughing when it started. Really did not expect that.
When did he start looking like a young Mario
The fact that the passenger airbag didn’t go off definitely saved the interior
But like damn no Christmas lights
$100k at the time “was” a lot of money.. “WAS” Let that marinate for for sec
Eric Jr For him
I drove a C7 Z06 (I mainly drive a WRX and a truck) and wanted to push the engine a little bit, I made a quick right turn and the car almost lost control due to sheer torque. I then was on a highway and fully accelerated and the wheels broke free when already doing 70mph. The amount of sheer power the Z06 has is scary.
It seems all of these dumb spaghetti comments just never end
just like the videos of his crashed cars
That joke died in like 2008 but people still use it as if it’s funny 🤣🤣
I want Rob to make a video about me saying: “I rented a car, the guy paid all fees and delivered the car better than it was”.
Here’s the thing, people who “drive like that” are at least used to it.
What do you love/hate more? The fact that your vehicle is totalled or confronting the guy and saying " You See I Told You So" !!!!
The thing is you don’t even need to “drive like that”. A lot of people don’t even know how a RWD car handles differently. Let alone a cars limits, whe there the tires are warmed up, etc. All it takes is a split second of lost traction.
When you're simmering your spaghetti for 3 hours and someone spills your meatballs.
tbh i just wanted to see the spaghetti corvetti, thx for sharing.
Rob - What happened?
Customer -Well the Front Fell off...
I once rented a Boxster from an exotic rental place in Vegas. Got a call the day before saying the previous renter crashed it. I said just put me into any stick shift convertible. Got a free upgrade to a 911.
Today Mr. Spaghetti realizes that when a customer says they don't like the sauce...... They actually love the sauce. 🍝
Rob: "hello Manhiem i have a car for you"
manhiem "that is what we do"
Rob:customer corvette crashed
Also Rob:guardian angel who saved me from not paying my lease
For the airbags, in some cars, the passenger airbag won't pop up if it does not detect a minimum of weight on the passenger seat. The car would need a whole front end and new front end cooling system. I noticed the right front wheel is not straight too. My guess is a 30k$ damage minimum, the parts seems to be made of fiberglass so more extensive than metal or plastic
Damn. I wish I was as calm and laid back as u are Rob. I wouldn't need this damn Prozac anymore lol
"I don't think its that bad." TOTALED
My homeboy Rob over analyzing that shit lol, yes virtually anything is “fixable” but thay car has lived its life
There’s probably someone in the chat that already threw a quick parts estimate up but I do wholesale parts for Lexus and unless Chevy is REALLY generous with these replacement parts it could easily be over 20 in parts.
Nice look Rob
I know for late-model GM cars (basically within the last 10-15yrs) the front passenger seat (and some models with rear seating) has a weight sensor (I believe the threshold is about 40lbs) so if 'no' weight is detected the airbag won't arm and subsequently won't fire in a frontal impact.
Rob: YESS, more content
You're right, I too am impressed with the damage and engineering of the car.
