Last year was rough but my GS Plant Foods regime and Sta Green Performance Max fertilizer has been working out. Next year I think i'm going to switch to a liquid fertilizer since I'm spraying every 3 to 4 weeks anyway.
I havent used fert either except on one tiny reno spot im messing with. Water restrictions out here on the west side of New Braunfels (off 1863). My one reno spot does look bad ass though so next year ill be going after it.
2 years straight I've only fertilized in early April. It just needs water and frequent mowing. Paul Sperry recommends pre emergent by September 15th or don't do it at all.
Hey Rhett…when are we applying pre emergent? I usually do it mid October, but people are talking about dropping it already..thanks Never mind. Just heard you say by holloween
Here in western Comal County, we have been on a watering blackout since july 9th. Everything that's not on reclaimed water is cooked. It is too bad the cities buy up all the water rights and make it illegal for us to water out here in the country.
I would agree with him, the best results I've gotten are from frequent mowing and water. With his height of cut he's probably mowing every couple days using growth regulator, without regulator he'd be mowing daily which can give really nice results if you've got the time. Watering should be something like two heavy waterings a week opposed to light watering everyday.
Hiw is your Ryobi sprayer holding up? I've been lookint at sprayers and have heard a few bad things about them leaking or not emptying. I have the Ryobi batteries and all the other "professionsl" sprayers are so expensive.

When do you do your first application of PGR?

A very nice lawn, especially considering the absence of fertalizer and treatment.

Still can level? Or should i just top dress with compost and level in the spring? I live in north texas
You mentioned frequent mowing and proper water application to your success. What does that look like right now? Frequency, etc?
Exactly. I want to know also how frequently moving and water apps since its getting cooler

Next year I’ll have my yard to the point where it’s thick enough I won’t need to do as much fertilizer. I’ve been trying to thicken it up

Lowering your fertility will also minimize the dog sports as well
So jealous of the yard lol!! I'm in New Braunfels as well, do you know a good place in town to rent a verticutter?
I think the HD downtown carrys them but looks like they're all checked out now. There are a couple of aerators available.
Time to rework the bermuda lawn calendar I guess.
niceee!
Are you sure your name is not Mr Technical Difficult? Are you his brother?
😆😆😆😆
With this weather… you gotta try pretty hard to have a bad looking lawn
