Thousands of firemen who’d lost friends at the Trade Center lost their minds in the stand when Piazza’s ball went out. . Prior to the game, the Mets and Braves players embraced. The Braves starter was from NYC, so was the guy who gave up the HR to Piazza. The bat is in Cooperstown. Everyone screaming ‘USA.’ That’s my no 1.

He got called off the field and got a standing ovation with cheering and yelling and whistling from all the fans. The Mariners were playing the Angels and even their fans were cheering. When he was in the dugout, everyone in the stands started chanting his name in unison. I remember it echoing around the stadium and feeling goosebumps. He came back out to be given the 3rd base and the crowd erupted again. You could see tears in his eyes as he turned towards the crowd. Even tho we were losing to the Angels, that's my favorite MLB game I have ever been to.

Three errors by the Rangers in the bottom half, should have ended the inning before Bautista even came to the plate. Every other team sport has celebrations for great plays. This was easily a top 10 moment in baseball history. It was bat flip worthy.

That first one reminds me of Dale Earnhardt Jr winning at Daytona right after his father died on the same track in the last lap in the Daytona 500. Earnhardt Sr was playing defense and protecting his son and Michael Waltrip in 1st and 2nd place when he made contact with a car behind him and he smashed into the wall at full speed. Jr winning that race is incredibly emotional to watch. Same with Dee's homerun.

The David freese triple in the 9th and homer in the 11th is one of the craziest things I’ve watched on live TV
All these years later, I still get emotional when watching Dee's homer.
That first one reminds me of Dale Earnhardt Jr winning at Daytona right after his father died on the same track in the last lap in the Daytona 500. Earnhardt Sr was playing defense and protecting his son and Michael Waltrip in 1st and 2nd place when he made contact with a car behind him and he smashed into the wall at full speed. Jr winning that race is incredibly emotional to watch. Same with Dee's homerun.
When they trumpet played Take me out to the ballgame I literally teared up best tribute ever I work for MLB and when I die I want that played at my funeral

I remember watching Fernandez in the bullpen at Wrigley Field six weeks before the boating incident because I know Don Mattingly, he was the Miami manager and Fernandez had a devastating slider, RIP.
For anyone to young to remember or know mike piazzas home run 9/21 2001 TEN days after the worst attack since Pearl Harbor he for that moment helped ease a country. Kids today don’t know the world before 9/11 everything changed that day and for mike one of the most beloved players to hit a homerun like that it was incredible
