I've owned six New Beetles, and currently own a 2002 NB Turbo S, and a 2013 Beetle TDI. One of my New Beetles was a 2005 1.8T Convertible. Never had a 2.0, only 1.8t, and TDI NB's. I love them all, though!
I have a 99 Beetle 2.0 5speed . 200343 miles on it. After market air intake and i fabricated a cowl injection for the hood to pull cool air, After market muffler just peeks out back bottom left. No electronic mods. After market air dam down front. Coilovers drops it a little for a nice stants. I painted it the early Desert Sand with Blackhood , Top and Trunk lid , rear spoiler for looks and a small top window spoiler I'll call it for air flow. Honestly glad you did this car! The RSI is pretty crazy of a car overall and the new beetle has some cool looks in my opinion, these things dropped on their nuts is unique and looks so good
I have a 2010 VW Beatle in the US with the 2.5L 5-cylinder engine. and manual trans of course. I have the best mod of all, I turned it into a truck, lol
Excellent and actually fair review of the highs and lows of the new beetle! I'm planning a refurb on one I can find cheaply here in Cleveland and make it go a little faster and hopefully lower.
The beetle is just one of those vehicles you have to sit in to understand. I have the blue race beetle in the video. I was looking at the gti, Jetta, and TT. All it took was one test drive to fall in love with the beetle.
We have a 2009 New Beetle, bought it used in October 2010, it now has 287,000 miles on it. I've had two 2013 Diesel Beetles one sedan and one convertable. I've lost them both, totaled within two years of each other. Heart broken. I have found a 2014 Eos, 9673 original miles, I call her Vulpix.
@@Rancid_crab_tree it's a coupe to be honest The difference between a coupe and a sedan is 2 doors on a coupe 4 on a sedan. Then again, they were made in Mexico and lots of errors are common in the manuals
The 1.8 turbo is easily modified, a k03 to K03s hybrid turbo upgrade and a downpipe would make 220bhp easily!!! And the 1.8t is bulletproof up to 300bhp, AS LONG AS YOU CHANGE THE OIL!!! 😂
i just bought one of these a couple of days ago and i love it i have to fix it up a bit but i love it so far and you dont see it every where like civics
I would like a good the “good, bad and ugly” on a Honda CR-V or some other compact suv, because I’ve seen many builds from soft off-road to sleepers. And I think it’d be nice as a first time car option for its versatility, too🤷♂️
I've driven an 03 Honda Crv for about a year. Overall great car. Decent MPG, and a nice pep in its step for what it is. Took it on some pretty steep rocky areas and it handled it surprisingly well completely stock. Good for long trips and the front sears fold out into the back to make a bed!!! My favorite quirk was the picnic table under the floor in the cargo area. Bad part is it's in the shop right now. Might be toast due to a blown head-gasket but it lasted a long time at 250k miles. Just keep up on maintenance and beware of common issues(Starter is a pain to get to)
It’s a fun car when it’s working, feels like a gokart and feels good when the turbo kicks in. Not a lot of leg room for anyone taller than 5’11. Plastic interiors falls apart (door handles lol iykyk) the A pillar is super annoying and big. Not a lot of working room and vw throws plastic all over the engine so just know you are going to be replacing a lot but lots of euro parts so. Just a cool car and I loved mine even if it left me stranded in a Taco Bell drive thru lol
I got the tdi with bigger cam injectors and bigger turbo I'm making 250 but when I say I'm gonna roll on you I'm gone like James bond with my smoke screen😂🤙🤙✌️
The president of my car club and his wife both have show beetles one is big turbo + Nitrous on coil overs with a body kit and other show stuff, and the other is bagged with passive key and a custom dash

Sorry dude, my 2009 New Bettle, with the stock 5 cylinder inline engine has over 289,000 miles and still will sh#@ it and get it when you pour the coal to it. I drove as my everyday car from 2010 to 2018, my wife drove for another 4 years. Now my daughter-in-law is driving it until they can find a replacement for a wrecked vehicle. Not an inline 5 150 bhp? 2.3 VR5 never existed in the factory located in Mexico.
I got a vr6 swapped beetle got some vids on it

stayed for the skyrim music
