Loved the NBA back when MJ played... Such intensity, passion, and competitiveness by players on both sides....A rookie tried to muscle Air Jordan, knocked him to the ground and then realized he just woke up the dark side of MJ....as usual, MJ collected all his free throws and then dominated the rest of the game. Fun times were had by all...✌️👍

KungPow's Chosen One really I thought basketball was built on the premise of who could put the ball in the hoop. Boxing, football, & mma are sports that are built on physicality. The fact the game isn’t about someone getting hammered in the lane all the time and hard fouls has made the game more fluid and better to me.

Jordan always waited for teammates to get in between him and an opposing player in a dust-up. He was not a fighter whatsoever. Early on, Oakley's job was to protect him. I love the story from Robert Parish at the end of his career, when he signed with the Bulls. Jordan got mad at him in practice and got in his face. Parish laughed and said, "I'm not as enamored with you as the rest of these guys. I have a few rings of my own." Naturally, Jordan backed down.

Y'all all know Anthony was a rookie trying to make a name for himself on the Blue Collar Hard Nosed Knicks and impress his coach Pat Riley, which he hoped would result in him getting more playing time.
Problem was, he couldn't score and with Rivers, Harper, and Starks in front of him, (They even had Gerald Wilkens at the guard spot at times, purposely to guard MJ), he didn't stand a chance to get any more minutes.

No, *YOUR WRONG*! How many 40 point plus games has Jordan had against the Knicks throughout the 90's?
      11!
Eleven games in which he's scored 40 or more points against them.
So what your saying is Pat Riley's theory was to purposely tell Anthony to --- Poke The Bear --- if you know what that means, in effect pissing him off so that he can drop 50 on them, right.
What kind of sence does that make? NONE!
What, was that supposed to give him an edge, make him a hero? Was that Stupid Move suppose to be some rallying point that the Knicks were going to get behind and fight towards victory? From a Rookie, Please!
What did he think was going to happen if he told him to do that?
You think Jordan would have been Silly enough to fall for it, get thrown out the game.
Yeah, you one of them hardnosed die-hard Knicks fans who's still pissed after all these years that yo boyz couldn't get it done.
Oh and by the way, Oak and Mase did their fare share of hard fouling in certain playoff contests, and "Do I Have To Spell It Out For You, What The End Result Was"?
Three 50+ playoff games for MJ Resulting In, *ALL LOSES* fo yo Boyz!
So Naw, Riley wouldn't have told Anthony to do anything that idiotic. That was just a rook move, him tryin to make an impression on the coach and his teammates that he hoped would merit him more time on the floor.....

    • @cwvos

@bullybuc you know, come to think of it, now I do remember you.
Your the guy who was making such a big deal about Charles Oakley not fouling Jordan hard when they played against one another.
      I remember you now.
Fouling and flagrant fouls was such a huge deal to you.
I remember telling you that you must think fouling counts as points and is the equivalent of a jumper and that's how you win.
Well Buc, I'll tell you what,
If you think Greg Anthony, OF ALL PEOPLE'S FOULING Jordan, flagrant/hard or otherwise,
If that's your main argument, in other words if his hard fouling Jordan, IN YOUR WARPED MIND, OR WAY OF THINKING was going to propel yo Boyz to a Chip, your delusional!
Did Anthony foul him again after that, as you said following Riley's orders? Watch the game Buc on UA-cam which further emphasizes my point that he being a rook wanted them minutes. He was out to prove he was a tough guy like the rest of yo Boyz.
DID HE FOUL HIM LIKE THAT A SECOND TIME?
According to you, Mr. Know It All, those were Riley's instructions right?
I don't know why flagrant fouling is your sure fired answer to winning!
According to you Oakley was scared to foul Jordan hard because they were Boyz and once played together, and now in this particular game, which I have on DVD, (I don't have to UA-cam it), a rookie is going to cheap shot a vet, trying to make a name for himself and impress his coach and show the rest of the guys that he's down and a ruffrider,
Hey guy, is that suppose to be, (IN YOUR MIND WHY THE KNICKS DIDN'T BEAT THE BULLS), because they didn't do enough of that?
I don't know about you man. 🤔 Most fellas that talk sports, talk in terms of categories and athletic exciting plays within the sport that determine the victories.
All you talk about are fouling, Oak not fouling Jordan because they're Boyz or Anthony was told by Riley to hard foul Jordan.
Is that all that interests you when you watch sports, who could hard, or flagrant foul or play dirty?
So all your objectivity is so focused on THAT phase of the game, not all the other exciting moments and spectacular plays like what happened to yo boy Charles Smith, 😆😆😆 (Don't Have To Spell That One Out To You Do I)?
I know you remember what happened to him.
You were probably saying, "I Could Have Made That Layup"!
      I'll tell you what Buc, since your so hung up on flagrant fouling AND YOU HAVE TO BE RIGHT, BECAUSE I GUESS YOU WERE RIGHT THERE ON THE BENCH WHEN RILEY TOLD ANTHONY TO HARD FOUL HIM;
Since you're 1000% correct, Did It Make A Difference?
      Did yo Knicks Win?
How many points did MJ have against yo Squad?
So overall you've been taught something. Your never to old to learn Buc.
You were the guy your coach used to put in games just to commit fouls. Maybe phycologically that's why fouling matters so much to you.
Just kidding fella, enjoy your weekend, AND DON'T FOUL OUT! 👍

    • @LawAcieIV

Pat riley told him to foul him hard if he came to the middle. And Anthony wanted to impress the coach by listening. The knicks had the no driving down the middle rule back then. Sure maybe pat didn't tell him to get the flagrant but it's not like he was punishing him for it either.
