@diggy dub 24:41, look at how fast he passes the black pickup truck and creates distance, yeah sure, Doug's going only 5-10 MPH over the speed limit. In his videos of high-powered cars, you can simply watch the speed at which the scenery passes by, or do some basic math of how long he's flooring it to know he's driving at excessive speeds. You can defend it by saying there's not really a reasonable alternative when testing these cars on public streets, or by saying that Doug's an experienced driver and probably choosing reasonably safe times to test the acceleration. But you can't make a reasonable argument that it's not obvious Doug's speeding excessively. We all know he is. Nobody gives a shit about speed limits in Temecula. It trips me out that the F1 was from 1993, yet it still looks like a modern supercar!
Douchebags. I saw cars at le mans in 1987 doing over 230mph. You can't compare them with a 2021 street legal 730hp vehicle.
Crazy that a 2021 400k AMG Black Series in 6 minutes 43 seconds destroys a now over 17 million worth 1993 McLaren F1 with a nowadays weak 7 min 11 seconds by 28 seconds per lap on the same Nordschleife racetrack.
I think it’s faster than that, that’s just Mercedes’ time which are always underrated. But also, it’s 0-60, who gives a shit
I love that he’s regularly breaking the speed limit on busy roads and we’re all like “yea fuck the cops, floor it again!” Lol
He drives similarly to other UA-cam reviewers who have front facing cameras, and they blur the speedometer to avoid incriminating themselves.
@diggy dub go watch the Bugatti Divo/pur sport video and then come back here and see if your comment still stands
@diggy dub I do. I live in Temecula. He’s driving on Ynez Road for most of the trip (in the general vicinity of the dealership) which has a 45 mph speed limit.
But you are right about police here. Nobody gives a shit about speed limits in Temecula. People regularly go 5-15 above, and on Ynez Road (the stretch north of the dealership before Murrieta Hot Springs) it’s pretty empty and people usually go 55 or maybe 60 on that road.
The vents over the wheels are to allow air to escape so to not create lift from the spinning tires. They're on the fenders, not the engine bay.
Yh ya understand it!
This car is faster around the Nurburgring than a 918? That’s crazy.
The 918 is really old so it makes sense

A great aero quirk at 4:35, the main hood vents have a small kicker flip directly ahead of them. This generates high pressure on the hood in front of them, for more downforce whilst simultaneously lowering the pressure behind them, allowing more air to flow out of the cooling ducts. A two in one benefit, from a tiny but deliberate detail.
The more you know, thanks for sharing man!!
"it sounds pretty good" 11:19
The main complaint with the car is that it's a flat plane crank v8 that somehow sounds like an i4
It's maybe the worst exhaust on an AMG, and that's saying a lot considering AMG has a portfolio of four cylinder cars now.
Hey, it sounds pretty good to the OTHER fastest car I reviewed this fall -- the Tesla Model S Plaid.
@@DougDeMuro It also sounds about par with the Polestar One, for whatever that's worth. Then again, I don't know why I'm comparing the two considering the Polestar One is a luxury barge.

Shmee says those six vents on the front fenders aren't for heat they're for stopping air pressure from building up inside the fender thus reducing downforce. Also the exhaust sound is renowned as disappointing to all who buy a BS amg. So much so most make changing the exhaust to another for better sound is the first upgrade owners make.
Shmee always has something to say huh?

*Incoming Shmee hate from jealous people*
@@tyler9703 That guy yelling in his intros is literally the definition of cringe
Fender vents are NOT for cooling the engine Doug. They're for preventing front end lift, caused by air billowing in the wheel well. Other than that, this air being channeled out to reduce lift, is exploited for cooling the breaks. NOTHING to do with cooling the engine...
