Great Video, I have had this gun in 12 ga for twenty years and it is a great camp gun. Have taken it on canoe trips in Northern Canada and used it for "bear safety" in the Okanogan. I actually took the stock off and put on a pistol grip which makes it much easier around camp when the goal is camp safety rather than hunting. Lots of good barrels available. I have one like yours and then a "shorty" I think it is 18" which with the pistol grip makes a great canoe gun. Happy trails.
I would have been cursing up a storm and throwing tools trying to get the screw holding the stock on out... Props to you Tony for having the will power not to curse, and throw tools.
personally i wouldn't recommend using a flat head screwdriver for the stock bolt. it also accepts 1/2 in sockets which allows for more torque and less of a chance of stripping the bolt like i did with a flat screwdriver.
Great video just a couple questions have you thought about removing the follower in the tube mag and replacing it with a high-vis one or painting that one a bright color just so its easy to confirm its empty and the follower is working properly ( I have seen them stick in the tube of the 20 gauge 500's before) the other question the nut you used the allen key on you may be able to use your choke tube wrench to remove or tighten it.
You and I take things apart the same way: Just start yankin', pullin' and twistin', and crankin' 'til ya have a pile of parts on the table. The gripping of a screwdriver handle with Vise Grips is one of my favorite methods. :-)
Right but just about anything, as demonstrated, will take this off. I use to buy specialty tools and had so many of them I got tired of keeping up with them. A god example of this is the front sight adjustment tool for my AR. It is silly when all you have to do is depress the retention pin and turn the sight post. :)
When removing the trigger group, the hammer should be cocked and the safety in the safe position. Be careful not to release the trigger when removing the assembly less you damage the trigger group.
At no point was my finger on the trigger when I was cycling the shotgun. My finger was always behind the trigger guard. I also safety checked the gun twice. I watched the video again and have no idea what you are talking about. Please state at what point my finger was in the trigger.
I mean pound for pound maybe the most reliable/useful gun ever.
That is what I am talkin about :)

@Artisan Tony: You could have ordered a factory 18.5 inch cylinder choke barrel for that 20 gauge and saved the vent rib barrel for hunting.

I love the 20 ga. I have shot them since I was 10. I don't know why, it's just that way :) I know my sons are going to enjoy this one too!

Great job Tony, looking forward to the new finish.
Thanks for checking it out. Yeah true if you go by there verbiage almost anything can be converted. Can't wait for Monday night hang out!
Same disease I've got with my Harley, truck, firearms etc... Do your thing AT! Kool project
AT can fix or build ANYTHING!!! Don't forget to camo your PVC target stand too... like I recommended way back when.

6:17 I thought you got your finger stuck. Haha loving the channel.

Sounds like yours has lots of experience :) I am cutting the barrel on this one to 18" also :) Thanks!
7 year owner no problems at all and very accurate

I didn't know Mossberg made pianoes. Nice project indeed!! ;-)
have you ever used citristrip? not harmful and the stuff will strip the stripes off a zebra
I'll watch a few when I get ready to put it back together. The two cartridge stop/interrupter whatever things will give me trouble :)
Nice gun
Thank you Krysta!
Since I wasn't there I'm not sure that you actually touched the trigger it just looked like it so I wanted to let you know.
ahh I lost mine for my 12 ga version when I was in highschool still have not replaced it I just use a quarter
I am thinking about that! :)
Thanks Mike!
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks!
I have had several people recommend that. This stuff is not working so I will probably just sand and paint it.
I don't have a choke tube wrench :)
Oh yes baby! :)
Also i might be one of your younger subs lol only 17, Also how can i get to have much subs as you ? any tips?
Woo-hoo...another AT gun furniture project!

Cool stuff toney check out my video on the Colorado gun ban that could ban pump shot guns.!
Last single shot shotgun I bought would not cycle the next round.....disappointing.
It works well on the loctite :)
LOL, Thanks!
im still looking for an excuse to pull the trigger on a 20 ga. no pun intended
LOL, I forgot :)
interesting..
Good video but honestly almost any gun can be "converted". But continuing to fight gun legislation of any kind is the goal.
I agree st 3:23 got to close for comfort for me there. Hate to be that guy just be safe :)
Haha, that was off camera, lol jk Thanks!
The part I noticed was at 3:23.
Do what I have done for 6 years. Put videos out regularly, try to have decent content, be yourself and interact with those who view your videos.
Time 2:32: let me stop you there a "safety" is a mechanical operation that can fail!
"IF" YOU DID NOT CUT OR ALTER THAT BARREL....I WOULD TRADE YOU A FACTORY 18.5" PLAIN BEAD BARREL FOR IT..
I am a happy guy here ok :)
I did not take it as an insult but your statement is inaccurate. At no time was my finger on the trigger.
