Holy Hell this almost made me cry a few times, from laughing at the sucking balls part, to realizing that I'm on the right track I just have to stick with the process
Your videos are one of the reasons i have taken that first step and leap of faith towards my passion and actually go for it, for so long in my life I've been hesitant and sort of afraid thinking if I'm ever gonna be successful in something entirely different than what I've been doing my whole life, and i was never happy, but i know im not ever gonna stop this time. Thanks you so much danny! you're an inspiration. I'm so glad i found your channel.
This dude is the most genuine person I've never met. I used to feel anxious about creating but now I am more comfortable with me and my camera. Thanks Danny
Found your channel about a week ago and all I can say is you’re great man. Thank you for your knowledge and being so humble. You are definitely a inspiration brother. Thank you again!
It's about darn time your channel started blowing up! I recommend it to anyone who asks me about a resource for getting into the industry. Keep doing what you're doing, man.
Man man man, i am half way through this video and already paused to say thank you. You know it feels like talking to a friendly friend as I watch your video. Its only 3rd or 4th of your video I am watching and I wana say thank you. You make me believe in the process... Thanks again.
Dude you are a big inspiration. I currently feel like I got stuck in my film making career a few months back. Finding you channel was a big way to get me out that phase and even though I don't think i am completely out of it, you words are inspiring me there. Thanks a ton brother.
I know this video is almost a year old now but I have to say no other video that I've seen has pushed me more to take that next step than this one! Thank you so much for inspiring me hope you know that you do so for so many people, keep on keeping on man, much love!
Wow this was great! All the things you mentioned in the video I can relate so much! My first camera was a Nikon d3200. My first job in the industry was a BTS shooter. Then it went to PAing now I’m transitioning into camera department. been doing videography and in the industry for 4 years but I’m still learning! my ultimate goal is to direct but as of now I’m still not sure was path I’m trying to aim towards in the industry as I’m trying to achieve that goal but I just love Film so much that I know is what I’m supposed to do for the rest of my life. This what I needed to watch to, to remind myself to keep going and keep learning no matter what! Thank you 🙏
My Family got me a Canon T7 for my 45th Birthday and then I took a small loan from my 4O.1k to buy the Canon m50 and now I'm saving up for the Canon EOS R or the 90D .. For some odd reason in Jan I've decided to get of my butt and start vloging, unboxing etc.. lol So I am 100% new to this platform :) and I love it ..
Awesome man! Dont feel like you need to keep upgrading though! I only have a cinema camera because my job is to be a cinematographer haha. Thanks for watching!
I’m sharing this video with plenty of people I know that want to start film making. I love your channel, it’s up there with Peter and others. I’ve been passionate about film for years and I’m finally getting started on my path on UA-cam and then other platforms
Holy shit, I needed this badly, I've been focusing to much on how to get my first client but what I really should focus on is create create create. Thanks for reminding me!!!
Holy moly, man! I'm that user that never comment on other people content, but shit...this is good! I learned of lot and it was your first video I've watched. Stoked to check other videos on your channel and love you too!
You are genuinely a great person and that is awesome, Im working my first gig next week as a Camera PA, (aspirations of becoming a DP) and I hope I can run into more people like you along the way!!
Danny Gevirtz absolutely my friend. Hope all is well in your world especially now with the current stat of affairs worldwide. Stay safe, healthy and happy Danny!
Thanks so much for this video, I've seen your name floating about. This video sold yah :) Charismatic, thoughtful, passionate and lots of love :) Thanks and look forward to watching your vids and future vids. Love you too xoxo
Found this video while binging into your channel. As a creator on UA-cam myself, I’m in the process of “Create create create” - now looking into spec projects. Love the video, Danny!
I really appreciate all these points. I am working a full time job and I am looking to move myself over to doing film part time for a bit and move it over to a full time gig. Your first point, was to me, the most important, setting up your purpose! Funny thing happened was that I sat and went over my purposes for why I am getting in to film making and not an hour later, I got a call from a Non-For-Profit group that needs someone to film their food distribution that they do monthly and they want me to do this. I have done a little work so far but this will be one of the biggest thing that I will have filmed being that we will be doing 3 different locations. Thought I would share.
Dude, your videos are so inspirational, and funny! I was getting tired of all the content creators on youtube. Your honest way of talking to the camera is really refreshing to look at. Great Job! I wish you the best as a youtuber, and if by any chance you come by Germany, let us know. I would love to talk to you over some cold beers.
Well, it seems I've found my new favorite UA-cam channel. I'm a mid-life crisis start-up using limited equipment (my Note 9 and some gimbals). Great videos, Danny.
I have been chasing a film making dream for over 10 years... I was nearly hitting rock bottom... did not see clearly which direction to take but thank GOD I found this channel. thank you Danny for being so true!
It was Super helpful!! I am student now who wants to be a filmmaker but didn't know where to start. You gave me such a great tips I will start with step one! Love you too :)
Thank you so much for this video, I really needed it. Im a beginner in filmmaking and I've spent countless hours learning about it but my problem is somewhat actually doing something, I'm ultra perfectionist so everytime I think of going out and shooting I think of all the problems I'm facing.. "I don't have anyone to shoot", "nah this won't look great", "this spot isn't good enough", "the lighting sucks" and I just end up doing nothing, I'm super frustrated but find myself still not making any changes. This video really encourages me of going out and do stuff and to stop thinking too much. You are an incredible person as well as filmmaker, thank you for sharing your story and knowledge !
If you ever get bored with videography, I see a great future for you as a modern day philosopher. It might not be the best way to earn a living but you have a gift for putting your soul out there, Danny. Living proof that, in show business, there are some very special folks behind the lens!
I didn't skip a bit. You are an inspiration bro. I am stuck in my career now. But after watching this video i could tell that i am going to try my best to become a filmmaker. Thanks for your advice man. Love your works
just discovered your channel...love it. thanks for this video especially. I have only just started film making, with a canon m50...watching this makes me want to take it to another level! keep up the great work!
This is the best video on filmmaking and trying to start working in this industry that i have seen so far. Thank you very much, for your realistic and practical advice.
This video made me soooo inspired to just start DOING IT! I've wanted to start UA-cam/Filmmaking/Commercial all that for so long and this video SERIOUSLY gave me that push!! I'm gonna go make an "I'm a Filmmaker" Video RN! Thanks Danny!
I am B and C at the same time 😃 I know it will sound weird but after watching your video about a day of a filmmaker I have quited smoking since last week. I feel so lucky to find your channel, I appreciate so much to all the effort you putting here! Thanks Danny and I hope I can work someday for you as a camera assistant.
THANK YOU! I have this vendetta against these youtubers who say "make your footage more cinematic instantly" which usually just means they slapped their dslr on a gimble and shot in 60 or 120fps and slowed it down in post. Last time I checked 90% of movies dont shoot in slow motion lol
You video about documenting every day was a next play in my xbox yt. I enjoyed that video and this one played next. I like the way you share your thoughts and knowledge. I like to take pictures every day with my phone is used to keep a 20 times zoom Panasonic point and shoot in my pocket for years. I took a couple of years FB and IG break. It was refreshing to go back and re-looking at the old pics from 2011 to 2018. Have a great safe day or night and enjoy your adventures!
I love these videos!! I've built my business editing videos for all types of UA-camrs and I'm actually pretty happy. I want to be a youtuber someday in some capacity and building a strong business editing for others has taught me soooooo much. I felt that this was a huge step for me because looking 5 years into the future I realized the only way to learn what I need to know is to find the people and ask. That grew into editing and here we are 1 year later with 8 clients needing weekly-daily videos. Lowkey, I was scared at first because I know a lot of people have immediately thrown me out when I mention only wanting to work on youtube because they see it as lesser than... But that is when I knew I was in the right place because all that makes me want to do is create more youtube videos. I've found a solid revenue stream, I have consistent work, I control all my own time, and now im starting to make a name for myself as a youtube video editor and getting pulled to bigger projects just because I doubled down on what I want to be doing. It's been just over a year and I'm already helping a celebrity launch a youtube channel and editing videos that millions of people are seeing a month. The beauty of the film industry is even a kid who dropped out of college to make youtube videos can find their way. There is no right path.
the best advice I ever got and similar to #5... "If you need a years worth of work, go work for a year." I think about this every day as I edit new things. Each one is just a tiny bit better than the last
Been into filmmaking for a couple years now. But I've always struggled with color-grading due to being color-blind. It's definitely hurt my motivation, but this helped a lot. Appreciate it.
Dude, I really enjoy watch your videos. I have feeling very inspired for your content. The last person that makes me feel like that was Peter Mckinnon...and now you. All I have to say is thanks. You have a special way to communicate and this helps me continued making videos.
I just found your channel today and I’m binging every video. There’s something I find uniquely encouraging about your voice and the way you frame these topics and ideas that so many people on UA-cam are covering that is motivating me. Right now my next step is to get on set and start working as a part of a team instead of doing everything solo. Keep up the great work Danny, i look forward to tuning into this channel regularly
True words manh it's been 2 years now I couldn't afford a camera all my savings is going to my engineering degree , but I still managed to get a phone that shoots good 1080p and here I'm , I made a first commercial video on smartphone just couldn't believe my self , all you need is inspiration to do work and show skills
I use a canon rebel sl2 and i know it’s not the best but I feel like it really forces me to get better at composing shots to compensate for quality. Forces me to work with what I have and focus on the story or feel that the video produces.
This popped on my feed and I'm already well on to pursuing step 8! But I have seriously related to this story soo much. My journey I started out making videos of me and my friends goofing off and then someone casually asking me to make a video for them. Nearly a decade later and I'm still grinding man. Great story, and thanks for sharing your experience man. Keep crushing it Danny! Cheers!
random note, on the clips on the intro of you popping up where the clips weren't quite long enough so you had to duplicate them, a little premier pro life hack is just when you are duplicating quickly change the second clip to reverse speed and you won't even notice a jump or cut in the clip and it will just look like one continuous shot, I use it all the time. Binging your content btw, it is top notch, you're an inspiration
Thenks for that video I'm on few first steps I know why I bought a Canon m50 and small gear. Now I'm on stage of creating content and editing which I thing is hardest point of it and reveal my stories. Thenks to your video and the easy way of saying about the steps I'm filing better with it. Thenks a lot Danny.
I personally am at the step where I’m trying to start doing projects on my own and get clients independently. I just recently got a camera and tripod, and have been practicing with it, trying to get to know the camera as well as I can. I went to college for video production so my education definitely helped a little bit, but now it’s time for me to actually get going with my career. It’s definitely a very nerve wracking and overwhelming thing to get started on, but I keep thinking to that first step of why, and that is what keeps me going!
danny i swear bro it feels like im watching a really close friend. you just came outta nowhere and damn I wish I found you sooner. thank you for bringing laughter and joy to my life homie.
Thanks for the tips. I lost lil bit of myself, especially after losing my beloved cat. Now I'm starting to regain control of myself. I should be asking WHY I WANT TO GET SERIOUS IN VIDEOGRAPHY.
Such best video of advices with integrity and honesty! You are the best also to emphasise spreading love and kindness. I am following and truly a fan now.
I've been holding off on kickstarting my journey for the past 2 years due to work and stress. I've just recently purchased an anamorphic lens and now saving for a cine camera. Thank you so much for this.
As someone who has recently just developed a huge love for video making and story telling, I really look up to you Danny! Each one of your videos is so inspiring and authentic. Keep going man!
Danny you are truly nailing these videos, these are such good tips not just for film making but quite a few can really be applied to business in general. Your production value has increased big time with humor and love the graphic effects too, tastefully done. LOL@F#@K NO and LOL @ Suck Balls and the conversation, didnt see those coming and was so funny. I hope you're going well mate and Love you and your content. Safe safe. :)
Thanks a million Peter!!! Haha I’m happy that balls joke landed with some people. It was a little much but it felt like the right time people know my true humor haha

*hides shamefully*
Hahaha nothing wrong with it!!!
I use that everyday
Me too!
Feel you. Maybe one day I can afford those nice, expensive video cameras 😅
Hahaha! Had to do a double take on that. I use a Z6 and I actually like it so far but I know what you mean. Nikon isn't really known for videos.

Such a great video! Must be awesome to be where you are and be able to make a video like this from experience
Haha I’m still in the process just like you! Thanks so much!
That “I love you” at the end caught me off guard 😂 Love you too man!
Ay thanks so much Ethan! This comment made my day
This is such an underrated video. I can honestly feel your sincerity sharing those invaluable tips. Will surely treaaure your words. Keep it up bro!
Thank you so much Clark!
True words manh it's been 2 years now I couldn't afford a camera all my savings is going to my engineering degree , but I still managed to get a phone that shoots good 1080p and here I'm , I made a first commercial video on smartphone just couldn't believe my self , all you need is inspiration to do work and show skills
Perfect timing. You were speaking directly to me. Thank you for sharing this.
Swear to god this is the best channel and you're such a pleasure to watch!
I use a canon rebel sl2 and i know it’s not the best but I feel like it really forces me to get better at composing shots to compensate for quality. Forces me to work with what I have and focus on the story or feel that the video produces.
Thanks to this video I found a great channel. Very solid and consistent quality content bro, keep it up.
Yo thanks so much bro! Glad you liked it
This popped on my feed and I'm already well on to pursuing step 8! But I have seriously related to this story soo much. My journey I started out making videos of me and my friends goofing off and then someone casually asking me to make a video for them. Nearly a decade later and I'm still grinding man. Great story, and thanks for sharing your experience man. Keep crushing it Danny! Cheers!
So happy to hear you enjoyed it and could relate man! Thanks so much Sean!
random note, on the clips on the intro of you popping up where the clips weren't quite long enough so you had to duplicate them, a little premier pro life hack is just when you are duplicating quickly change the second clip to reverse speed and you won't even notice a jump or cut in the clip and it will just look like one continuous shot, I use it all the time. Binging your content btw, it is top notch, you're an inspiration
thanks for the tip!
Even though this came out a year ago, I'm so glad I watched it now.
That guy who jumped on the snowball is my hero.
Mine too lol
Cause film- is my life I love it! I need to do it! I love creating things and want to leave my mark
Currently at stage 5 :) I have 3 passion projects planed for 2020 and want to launch my homepage. Thank you so much for this vid! 🙂
Amazing tommy! You’re gonna crush those projects man
@@DannyGevirtz At least I have got plenty of time for pre-production at the moment. :) The next days will be storyboard days!

Thanks for the tips. I lost lil bit of myself, especially after losing my beloved cat. Now I'm starting to regain control of myself.

Man, every time I watched your videos. So very calm, thank you, man! Keep it up as always
